I think Andrew Klavan has hit the correct balance here between Sohrab Ahmari and David French.

Ahmari is too eager to toss aside decency and objectivity; French emphasizes personal perfection too much in political candidates, though I am glad that French strives for ethical perfectionism in himself.

Pride as the vice of all queens. That was a great quip, Andrew.

Andrew, choose one or the other:

    • speak, or
    • clear your throat – preferably with your microphone muted.

It is very distracting when you try to speak and clear your throat simultaneously.

I find David French’s NeverTrumpism to be entirely irrational. I get confused when he can make the superior argument in an ill-advised, nuanced internecine debate among social conservatives.

Donald Trump is a vulgarian. But its because he comes from a vulgar culture. Sam Bee, Bill Maher, Colbert etc where vulgar long before Trump started his political career. Trump isnt the crisis, he’s the result.

It is a little rich for someone who criticizes Trump for engaging in the adult entertainment world to publicly declare that a popular television show that by all accounts is filled with the same type of activity is great and that he never misses an episode.

I’ve had this problem with his audio since forever.

George W. Bush was a Texas gentleman and he he got similar treatment. We shouldn’t forget that.

As did Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, etc etc… But when a republican speaks up, in the same terms he’s been attacked – then suddenly decorum is an issue.

What Trump does all day everyday is that he trolls the left to reveal what they really are.

Ted Cruz probably can’t be friends with his roommate from college not because of Ted Cruz but because of his roommate.

umn… No. Without knowing anything about their personal dynamics, I would have to say there is usually enough blame to go around. Not that it really maters, friends are great – but if friendship just wont work, the best thing is for everyone to just leave. Some people are better enjoyed in their absence than presence.

This is why facebook is so miserable – all the A##hats from high school, that you purposely have not spoken to in 30 years, feel its ok to look you up and bombard you with nostalgia that is more a PTSD flashback than fun.
