Calling elections is serious business. Polls have a margin of error. Calling a state for a presidential candidate on election night has no second chances. Get it wrong and everybody is going to remember. The first major media outlet to call the 2016 presidential election for Donald Trump was the Associated Press. However, The Decision Desk called the election for Trump 35 minutes earlier.
