“Look at Sweden!” has been the most insufferable line in American politics for decades, and now it’s like music. Long live Sweden, the only place on earth where sanity prevailed.
Swedish socialism is a myth. Swedes don’t hate billionaires.
Also worth noting that while Sweden’s curve resembles NY’s in shape, time of peak, etc, it yielded one third the death rate — and without the suffering and, yes, death, associated with lockdowns. And if present trends hold, Sweden will best the US as a whole in death rate as well.
The Fauci crowd will not admit it anytime soon, but once this all shakes out Sweden will emerge as the model for pandemic response in the West.

The one thing Sweden could have done better and the Swedish medical community admitted it: better protection of elders especially nursing homes
Of course, one could say that about all countries and states
I hope Dr. Avik and everyone else are right about herd immunity in Sweden but I am somewhat skeptical. Internet data suggest that Stockholm was hit hard, but that Gothenburg was not hit as hard. Perhaps Gothenburg might still be susceptible to a possible second wave?
Avik is MD?
If he is when is the last time he treated a patient?
Agree
I actually think Sweden should have let bars and universities remain open.
Regarding nursing homes, residents there are on borrowed time. If covid didn’t kill them can we assume all would have survived this year or this month or this week?
I apologize if I sound callous and cold blooded
He is not an MD. He’s a policy guy.
