There was one fairly obvious inconsistency, though, in the middle of an otherwise very good endeavor. Always need more from Dr. Roy.
He kind of stepped on his own point regarding the WHO, and helped not a whit. The US has provided by far the most funds, but because of precisely the same nonsense as rules the UNGA, we lose at the WHO in every controversy, precisely because we are the US and provide the most support.
This will not change with the WHO s currently structured, where China can ally with 60 small authoritarian states and get their crew appointed as leaders. The only answer is for the US to start another WHO in parallel with a structure that can be useful without being politicized. Avik needs to help define such a structure, not provide round sounds on the current WHO; if we could have influenced anything with our buckets of cash, we would have.
BTW, Scott, good volume level (the Dispatch podcasts are also at good levels.)
