Great news: Gov. Chris Sununu (RINO-NH) announced this morning that he will not be running for U.S. Senate next year against incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan. Unfortunately, Sununu said he will be running instead for re-election to a fourth (two year) term as governor. Max explains why Chris Sununu is a terrible, disgusting, oily, shifty politician and why Republicans should abandon him. (He likes abortion, for one thing.) The even better news is that Gen. Don Bolduc (Ret., US Army) is now the front runner for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire. As Steven K. Bannon says, “Gen. Bolduc [is] a true MAGA hero.” For more information about Gen. Bolduc, listen to this interview on Ricochet’s Half Percent Podcast.

Human history is full of the stories of peasants, subjects, and tribes. Yet the concept of the “citizen” is historically rare—and was among America’s most valued ideals for over two centuries. But without shock treatment, warns historian Victor Davis Hanson, American citizenship as we have known it may soon vanish.

In The Dying Citizen, Hanson outlines the historical forces that led to this crisis. The evisceration of the middle class over the last fifty years has made many Americans dependent on the federal government. Open borders have undermined the idea of allegiance to a particular place. Identity politics have eradicated our collective civic sense of self. And a top-heavy administrative state has endangered personal liberty, along with formal efforts to weaken the Constitution.

I’m gonna blame it on the FBI’s surveillance equipment interference.

I enjoy the Ruthless Podcast even though Josh used to work for McConnell and thinks nothing has changed in 2020; Republicans will get their turn in 2022. I saw the title for their latest episode and thought they’d come around on their thinking on Sununu. Nope, they’re upset he isn’t running. Glad to hear someone else running and he probably won’t be a swamp creature.

Hey Max, can you do anything to increase the recorded volume on your podcast?   I usually listen on my laptop, and even with the volume at max (!), sometimes I can barely hear you.

Really? Hmm. Sorry about that! I will definitely boost the volume…if you leave 5-star rating and a positive review! Just kidding, I’ll do it anyway, but please do leave a review. I’m surprised, though, about the volume. I assume you don’t have this issue with other podcasts you listen to? I pretty much always use headphones or a bluetooth speaker when I listen to podcasts, and those generally have more powerful speakers than a laptop. Thanks for listening.

Eeyow! I have to move fast to adjust the controls here on Ricochet to not have my ears blasted. (You can’t please everyone, can you?)
