Can we find an honest president, or an honest presidential administration? By what standards do we identify “corruption” when it comes to the White House? Dr. John Robert Greene, author of “Little Helpers: Harry Vaughan, His Cronies, and Corruption in the Truman Administration,” joins Jeff to discuss the long and sordid history of presidential scandals and how Americans’ views on presidential behavior have changed over time.

Dr. Greene still thinks that Watergate is the scandal by which all other presidential scandals are measured.  The most corrupt administration in history?  Why of course, the Trump administration (naturally, no examples are provided), with the Nixon administration coming a close second.  The Clinton administration comes close to getting a pass; apparently, canoodling with Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office is the only thing he did wrong.  Didn’t hear a word about the bought-and-paid-for Biden administration, or the Johnson administration either; what a cesspool that was.  Rest assured, Dr. Greene, I will not be buying your book, as I am afraid it will lean so far to the left that it will knock over the rest of my books.
