Reporting on a 13-month-old story is always difficult, as most people have moved on in their lives. Sometimes I believe that is exactly why the Federal Government takes so long to process Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests, especially ones being requested from the Right side of the political spectrum.
So, let’s travel back to June of 2016. Hillary was in big trouble over emails and servers and whatnot, and it could potentially result in the end of her Presidential campaign if indictments were handed down by the Department of Justice. This all depended on what the FBI had to say about it, courtesy of a certain Director named James Comey.
I kind of like JK Rowling; she always seemed to be a nice, real person and she’s attractive, too. I appreciated that she made untold millions of kids salivate at the thought of reading. I remember taking my kids a couple times to Walmart at midnight to get the latest Potter release (yeah I was a naughty Divorced Dad – sue me) and bringing flashlights so they could start reading it on the way home.
But if you’re going to send a bunch of tweets to your millions of Twitter followers, take a moment and make sure the rant is based on the truth!
I didn’t realize that this story about “Congressional I/T Staffers” getting in trouble for “hacking” — I use that over-used word very loosely — was an unknown here on Ricochet. I should have known though, since the MSM has been burying it since day one. Even Fox News only did a couple stories online about it. It popped up the first week of February, although the investigation started last year. Being in I/T for a couple decades myself, any political story dealing with computers always catches my eye. For instance, I was deeply involved in Tweeting out information relating to the #DNCLeaks fiasco, a year ago last week; it remains the best time I ever had on Twitter.
There was a small-information story that hit sites like Politico and BuzzFeed that started like this:
I really like this story. I’m sure the comments will be mixed: Pay, don’t pay, block the counter, set up a coffee stand outside, whatever.
I like what they did, myself.
Whether you think Julian Assange is a traitor to the world (as I do) or not, there is no denying his genius. So I am not taking this story lightly in any way; it seems to be very well thought out.
