Comic Relief: A Modicum of Snuff Answers the Me Too Movement
Director Terry Gilliam: I’m Tired of White Men Being Blamed for Everything Wrong with the World
In an interview that breaks every rule of the Hollywood PR handbook, iconoclastic filmmaker Terry Gilliam said that white men are unfairly blamed for everything that is wrong in the world and that the #MeToo movement has become a witch hunt as well as an excuse for some women to avoid taking responsibility for poor decisions.
What will become of the Baron? I suspect that he’s going to be just fine and finally, a modicum of sanity may return to this culture.
Thank you, Mr. Gilliam.
Why Are We Here?
When the Russia/Mueller fiasco fizzled and Democrats realized that none of their candidates could beat Trump, they got desperate enough to just go flat out for a phony impeachment. Schiff literally did a dramatic reading of the transcript that was altered for effect. Rep. Nadler’s Law School professors were worthless, adding nothing to the conversation much less the case. Nancy Pelosi, in recognition that this is a kangaroo court simply directed them to impeach before the hearing was over.
This is the ugliest, dumbest partisan fiasco in U.S. history.

Is Joe Biden Insane?
I don’t just mean an ordinary, obsessive-compulsive kind of thing. I mean detached from reality completely. He is scary.
Am I making too much of this one strange incident?
Just because he misspeaks on a regular basis, it isn’t the end of the world.
Gaffe: Joe Biden Claims He was Vice President in 1976
Former Vice President Joe Biden inaccurately stated on Thursday that the Obama-Biden administration was in office in 1976.
Biden, who has shown an inability to recollect dates and places to the chagrin of even his staunches allies, made the claim while discussing immigration during a stop on his “No Malarkey” bus tour of Iowa.
In particular, the 77-year-old Biden tried to create a contrast between President Donald Trump’s record on immigration and that of the Obama-Biden administration. To do so, the former vice president invoked the creation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which granted legal protections to nearly 800,000 illegal migrants brought to the U.S. as children, and other signature Obama-era policies.
“There’s the Dreamers program, there’s also a program that said we’re not going to separate families, we’re going to allow families to stay together while they go through the process, and the court said you can’t,” Biden said, before adding, “We did that in 1976.”
Really, really scary.
Clarence Thomas Is a Hero
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has joined the chorus of criticism of former Vice President Joe Biden’s handling of his 1991 Supreme Court confirmation process, suggesting the aim of the contentious hearings was to prevent him from reaching the bench.
In a soon-to-be-released documentary, entitled Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words, Thomas took aim at Senate Democrats and then-Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Biden, who headed his confirmation hearings, though he did not reference the now-2020 presidential candidate by name.
They tried to destroy this guy. They couldn’t and we’re all the better for it.

Pro-Democracy Parties Sweep Hong Kong Elections in Historic Turnout
Beijing allies fell from a majority of 300 to a mere 60 seats, while pro-Hong Kong candidates won 347 of 452 seats — claiming seven of eight local councils after having control of none before Sunday. The election set a record with 71 percent turnout and more than doubled the turnout of 2015 elections with nearly 3 million voters.
“There has been a very deep awakening of the Hong Kong people,” said Alan Leong, chairman of the Civic Party, one of the largest pro-democracy parties. “ . . . Unless the C.C.P. is doing something concrete to address the concerns of the Hong Kong people, I think this movement cannot end.”
Hong Kong Watch Founder Says UK Has a Responsibility to Take Lead, Call for Sanctions on China
Benedict Rogers, a British human rights activist and the founder of Hong Kong Watch, joined protesters outside Downing Street on Saturday to call for the UK government to act in Hong Kong.
“I think the United Kingdom absolutely has a responsibility to take a lead now, especially now that the United States Congress and Senate have taken this really welcomed stand. But the United Kingdom obviously has a moral obligation given our history. More importantly, we have a legal obligation as a signatory to the Sino-British joint declaration which China is blatantly flouting,” Mr Rogers said.
Polls Show Tories Could Win 64-Seat Majority, Has 19-Point Lead over Labour
Polling suggests that the Conservative Party could win a 64-seat majority in the House of Commons in the December 12th General Election.
The poll of polls conducted by Electoral Calculus and published in The Telegraph has Mr Johnson’s party polling at 42.8 per cent, giving him 357 seats in the 650-seat lower house while Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party is polling at 30 per cent and is currently predicted to lose 55 seats.
Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that the latest Opinium/Observer poll puts the Conservative Party 19 points ahead of the Labour Party at 47 per cent, with just three weeks to go until polling day. Labour is on 28 per cent with the extreme anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats having fallen to 12 per cent.
Democracy is a roller coaster. It can’t be controlled so those who have no faith in humanity itself show themselves for who they really are and surrender to the totalitarian option. They get control of the weak-minded media & academia and think they can lie their way to power. Maybe they can and maybe they can’t.
Democrats’ Worst Nightmare: Polls Show 34 Percent of Black Likely Voters Approve of Donald Trump
A pair of recent polls show that 34 percent of black likely voters approve of President Donald Trump’s presidency, a stunning development that could have a massive impact on his re-election campaign in 2020.
A Rasmussen poll released Friday showed black likely voter approval of Trump at 34 percent. An Emerson Poll showed 34.5 percent approval by the same demographic.
Democracy lives in the hearts of the people not the pens of the pundits.

The Woke Come Face-to-Face with Genocide
The new generation has been liberating people by imposing pronouns and forced mixed-gender bathrooms. They call anyone who doesn’t hold their perverse views “fascists.” Of course, the new generation doesn’t have a clue what actual fascism is about. One day the totalitarian government without warning rounds people up of a particular ethnic group. They are told they are being sent to work camps or reeducation facilities. In reality, they are going to a prison camp from which there is a good chance they will not come out alive.
Blaming everyone for imaginary racism, sexism, homophobia, and Islamophobia in the freest society on earth has been a great joke that the magic woke generation has been playing on everyone in the USA. Now they are going to realize that the human rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution are the only protection in the world from tyrannical regimes bent on murder.
ChinaFile Presents: The Situation in Xinjiang
Karl Marx spun his fantasy about a magical Marxist State that would be a paradise. To get to this paradise you just had to give up all belief in individual autonomy, basic human rights, and democracy. When you make a deal with the Devil it won’t end well. This is the lesson that the new generation needs to learn and learn fast.
My Pet Economic Theory Explaining the Increase in Income Inequality
Premise 1: All environmental laws disproportionately affect the cost of living for the poor, the lower middle class, & the middle-middle class as the cost of the most basic goods, food, housing, transportation, and wage rates are directly distorted.
Premise 2: Any environmental law not justified by the effect on the actual environment is justified by an environmental political ideology and thus cannot be rationally argued with but can only be stopped by political opposition.
Taking both premises and the fact that there has been no truly effective political opposition to environmental ideology since it began full scale on earth day 1970, it is obvious to me that the main perpetrator of income inequality in the last 50 years has been the ideological imposition of unnecessary environmental laws. Take the famous “stagflation” of the Carter years. Carter was the first President to press an extreme environmental agenda. He had inherited a soft economy from the post-Viet Nam era. However, a mysterious stagflation was occurring which none of the economic theories of the time could explain. Carter himself decided to blame the American people insisting they had a “malaise”. I was out selling scientific instruments in the “rust belt”. We had a whole new branch of the business opened up to us with EPA certified instruments designed to monitor the environment and provide the EPA with environmental “audits” from major industries. As I rode up and down the Ohio Turnpike between Detroit and Pittsburgh, I noticed people living in cardboard boxes under the underpasses. Unemployment was hitting 11% putting an incredible downforce on wages. Carter would only talk about the environment and the malaise.
Since that time all of our huge wage-related productivity increases have been absorbed by this twisted environmental obsession. Green industries, as they have been called, are by and large fantasies of the ideologues. They are economic losers even with the massive government investment in both research and direct subsidy. The poor, the lower middle class, and even the middle middle-class have had ideological environmental leeches applied to their standard of living holding them back. Of course, the wealthy who spend only a tiny percentage of their income on basic commodities, go unaffected. Even a flat tax would be more equitably spread between rich & poor.
Thus over time, massive income inequality is produced by an economy grotesquely distorted by environmental ideology.

The Nunes Opening Statement. The Truth Is a Really Strong Hand.
I endorse every word that Devin Nunes spoke. He kept his composure and didn’t call them by the names they have so completely deserved to be called. May Gd give the Democrats exactly what they deserve.

Remember Just Before the 2016 Election, HRC Was Up 14 Points
But Gallup has confirmed to Breitbart News that it does not know how many illegal aliens or non-citizen legal residents were among the 1,526 respondents questioned in the poll conducted between October 1 and October 13. Gallup also confirmed that it does not know how many of the poll respondents are registered voters.
As a result, it appears that the Gallup Poll released last Wednesday, which has been widely reported in the mainstream media as an indicator that public support for impeachment is on the rise, dramatically overstates the percentage of American citizens–and particularly American citizens who are registered voters–who support impeachment.
…Gallup also apparently heavily skewed the weighting of sample respondents–a sample that most likely included illegal aliens and non-citizen legal residents–by dramatically decreasing the percentage of Republicans included in the weighted final results that showed 52 percent support impeachment, while dramatically increasing the percentage of Democrats included in those weighted results.
Also, Gallup neglected to mention that the question they asked wasn’t whether the respondent supported “impeachment” but whether the respondent liked “peaches.” Close enough for Gallup.
Claire Has Gone Full Kant?
OK OK, I’ll admit that I find Dr. Berlinski alluring both intellectually and otherwise. However, never did I imagine that she would go full Kant on me. I’m in shock, yes truly in shock.
Readers Write, the Categorical Imperative
But I do take seriously the question many of you have sent to me: What’s the alternative? The Democrats have gone insane.
I don’t think they’ve gone quite as insane as the fever-dreams would have it, but let’s assume that’s true. Some of the things they’ve been saying sound legit insane to me. It may be playing to the base before the inevitable pivot to the center, but their base is legit insane.
Does that mean we should tell ourselves untruths about Donald Trump and his fitness for office?
It all depends on our moral system. This is a classic dilemma. Are you a consequentialist? Or are you a non-consequentialist, with, for example, a deontological moral system?
Or are you, perhaps, immoral?
…
Does defending Trump’s latest outrage make you want to vomit? Are you stricken with guilt because you just don’t want to do it anymore, but you feel you must, because otherwise Bernie Sanders will be president, which would mean our country will be reduced to starvation and the Woke Left will fill your kids’ heads with evil moral relativism?
You might want to try the categorical imperative.
Just tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may.
Well, well, well, Dr. Berlinski so you have finally grasped that there is no moral free lunch (A light snack maybe but no lunch! Don’t push me, Claire!) Now you realize the necessity of recognizing pure deontological moral imperatives. We are finally making progress. Now that you have crossed the Rubicon to truly powerful and advanced moral thought I must take you by the hand (you have lovely hands..oh, never mind Claire!) and broaden your perspective even more.
You see the categorical imperative is designed to rule our souls but not our society. By this categorical a priori imperative, we can make ultimate personal moral choices. Only we have access to our own souls and the transcendental freedom needed to make a pure moral choice no matter what the circumstances or the consequences (or the consequentialist). If we follow the imperative we are Virtuous, if not Sinful. However, Duties of Virtue are not all that there is under the Kantian Sun. We must externally deal with our fellow man. For this, we must employ the Duties of Right. That is Right not Rights. The opposite of Right is Wrong. In other words, this is an ultimate ethical (not moral) imperative. By its very nature, it involves other people and the use of force against them if necessary. What makes it necessary to use force? An action is Right if it coerces a coercer in such a manner as to maximize the freedom of all.
First, let me say that the conversation that was revealed by the transcript does not at all resemble the claims of Schiff and the other mad propagandists. Shiff undoubtedly realizing this, ad-libbed the entire conversation before Congress and the media. As a parody, it wasn’t very funny, however, it was so far from the truth that as an obvious blatant smear it worked wonderfully well. Sorry Claire, but defending Trump does not fill me with nausea. Being forced to listen to Schiff is a form of cruel torture that I wish could be brought to an abrupt end. You presented this issue as a moral dilemma of Virtue but I think as the whole thing is not about personal choices but about state politics, we should really consider this as an ethical dilemma of Right.
Even if Trump seems less than adequate as an exemplar of Virtue, he seems very adequate as an exemplar of Right. The left wishes to coerce the body politic by policies that are massively destructive to the economy and grotesquely destructive to the social fabric. They appear to wish to induce a complete collapse so they can gain power in the chaos. (One could posit an alternate explanation for their behavior but this would involve them actually being stupid enough to think that what they are doing will help. Naaaaa nobody could be that stupid.)
Thus through our more proper ethical analysis, Trump becomes an ethical champion who fights the good fight by adhering to the Duty of Right. He is coercing the horrible coercer of the left in such a manner as to maximize the freedom of all. If the ordinary citizen recognizes this then they surely will vote for this champion of Right. If not then we all have a one-way ticket to Hell.
I would also recommend a little Pepto Bismol for the nausea.

Elizabeth Warren a Direct Descendant of Militia ‘Indian Fighter’ Who Fought Seminole Tribe
Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) great-great-great grandfather Jonathan Crawford served in Major William Lauderdale’s Battalion of Tennessee Volunteer Militia from November 1837 to May 1838, a six month time period during which it fought two battles in Florida against the Seminoles.
Today, there are two federally recognized Native American Seminole tribes, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which has 4,000 enrolled members, and the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, which has more than 18,000 enrolled members.
Lauderdale’s battalion fought against the Seminoles at the Battle of Loxahatchie River, in present day Jupiter, Florida, on January 24, 1838. Then on March 22, 1838 they fought against the Seminoles again at the Battle of Pine Island, in present day Fort Lauderdale.
A native of Virginia, Lauderdale moved to Tennessee, where he was known as the latest in a long line of Indian fighters, as the Daily Press reported in 1992.
Gosh, I never knew she had it in her. I should have looked more closely cause those facial features are a dead giveaway. Yep, she’s definitely an old Indian fighter.
Our hearts so stout has got us fame…
Time to Put Down Childish Things
Marianne Williamson: ‘I Didn’t Think the Left Lied Like This’
“I know this sounds naive. I didn’t think the left was so mean. I didn’t think the left lied like this,” Williamson told the New Yorker’s David Remnick in an interview. “I thought the right did that. I thought we were better.”
Williamson accused the left of lying about her use of crystals and “crystal gazing,” telling Remnick that there has “never been a crystal on stage” at any of her events and “there is no crystal” in her home.
She accused those on the left of also falsely accusing her of having told AIDS patients not to take their medicines or implying that “lovelessness” causes diseases and “love” is “enough to cure their diseases.”
“I’m Jewish, I go to the doctor,” Williamson said, ripping those on the left for labeling her as an anti-science candidate who does not believe in modern medicine.
Williamson has in recent weeks criticized the “political-media industrial complex” and warned Democrats that nominating a conventional or establishment candidate to go up against President Donald Trump in 2020 could be disastrous.
Yes, Marianne, the left is all peace and love until it comes down to power. Then the long knives come out. You might find this out when you are young, you might discover this when you are much older, or you might go to your grave never seeing them for what they really are. You can go with the flow, you can ride with the tide, or you just might decide to make the change and realize that you were a conservative all along. It’s up to you.
The Turn

The outcome of a major event may rest upon a very small difference. The storm is very large and powerful. That means that the hurricane-force winds extend out much farther than a normal storm. I have no problem with tropical force winds, and a very low-grade hurricane-force wind is also doable. After that, although I am not sure that it would hurt me, I’d rather not find out. It would certainly cause a lot of damage to the surroundings.
Just now the storm is about 105 miles exactly due east of my position. It has slowed to a crawl and is pounding the Bahamas relentlessly. Overnight it will move off the Bahamas and start heading east and north. The tightness of the turn has been nerve-racking.
Overnight the storm will make the turn quickly, slowly, or double-cross everyone (never trust a hurricane). There is nothing I can do about it now. I took some photos of the ocean at 5 PM (Monday). The storm is straight out from the beach 105 miles.

Perhaps I’m being melodramatic.
Update: 8AM Tuesday
The storm had come to a complete halt and was just sitting slightly to the north of Grand Bahama Island. I thought it would move in the evening but it just sat there. Finally, between 5AM and 8AM this morning the storm started north. There was no change in it’s longitudinal position (didn’t come at me going west) so net-net it is now farther away from me and getting farther every hour.
Yippee!!! I have fed the neighbor’s cat (Clair take note as I can now be officially removed from the Cat insensitive watch list) and all is right with the world.

Tulsi please, you’re in the wrong party!
National Review has a piece about Tulsi Gabbard slamming the DNC for a ‘lack of transparency’ after failing to qualify for the upcoming Democratic debate. They write (emphasis mine):
Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii) denounced the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for its “lack of transparency” Wednesday night after learning that she likely won’t qualify for the third Democratic primary debate.
“I think the bigger problem is that the whole process really lacks transparency,” Gabbard told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. “People deserve having that transparency because ultimately it’s the people who will decide who our Democratic nominee will be.”
“When you see that lack of transparency,” she added, “it creates a lack of faith and trust in the process.”
Tulsi, please, we’ve all got to grow up sometime. I was raised to believe in the magic lefty Democrats. But finally, it was time to put down childish things and think and act like an adult. It isn’t a crime to make a mistake unless you won’t admit it and keep on making the same one.
In early 1980 I couldn’t stand one more day of listening to that magic creep Carter. I closed my eyes and changed my registration. Then I found out I was going to vote for the announcer on Death Valley Days and I thought all was lost. Yet, somehow it all worked out for the best. I have never been unhappy with the choice I made.
You can still make the choice. There is still time sister.

The New Woke Marxism: Penicillin-Resistant Ideology
In National Review Philip Magness wrote a piece about how the 1619 project rehabilitates the ‘King Cotton’ thesis (emphasis mine),
It’s not just the New York Times that uses NHC scholarship to distort the economic history of the U.S. At a congressional hearing earlier this summer, journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates enlisted another of Baptist’s claims to argue for reparations. “By 1836 more than $600 million, almost half of the economic activity in the United States, derived directly or indirectly from the cotton produced by the million-odd slaves,” Coates said.
This stunning statistic quickly became one of the most memorable sound bites of the occasion. It is also unambiguously false — the result of Baptist double- and triple-counting intermediate transactions from cotton production to artificially increase its economic share. Through an elementary accounting error, Baptist had inflated the actual size of the cotton sector by almost tenfold. At approximately 5 to 6 percent of the antebellum economy, cotton did indeed constitute a major output, roughly comparable in size to the northern-dominated railroad sector. It was not, however, the commercial monarch of either Confederate fantasy or Baptist’s revisionism.
Dubious statistical claims and shoddy research practices are alarmingly common in the broader NHC literature. Those who rely on it repeat these mistakes. In the 1619 Project, Desmond uses another of Baptist’s stats to attribute a 400 percent increase in the daily yield of cotton-picking between 1800 and 1860 to the systematization of whipping and torture as a means of increasing production. This “calibrated torture” thesis forms the central claim of Baptist’s 2014 book The Half Has Never Been Told, purporting to show that slave-based production was a capitalistic enterprise at its core and, furthermore, that modern industrial-management techniques (the recording of daily outputs, the comparative tracking of employee productivity, the keeping of double-entry accounting books) take a page from the most evil chapter of American history.
Yet again, Baptist’s thesis is built on misinterpreted evidence — or perhaps intentional deception. He bases his argument on the empirical work of economists Alan Olmstead and Paul Rhode, who assembled decades of plantation records to study the growth in cotton-crop yields before the Civil War. Olmstead and Rhode discovered the same 400 percent increase in cotton-picking rates yet found a completely different cause: The yields grew primarily as a result of technological improvements to the crop from cross-breeding different strains of cotton seed.
The Big Con is on. Once again magical Marxists are out in force. They make almost believable arguments based on almost-believable facts. The young, the unsuspecting, these are the targets. Still, to hold onto their naive prey the Marxists need more than just a good story. They must confuse and disrupt all opposition. Having sowed the seeds of dissension and distrust on the large economic issues they can proceed to create paranoia in the primary social structures that sustain life. Sexual schizophrenia becomes a cause celeb; abortion rights for transgender men becomes an important policy position of the major leftward party. That working-class income has been rising rapidly under conservative leadership must be trivialized.
To lead this new ‘Big Con’ you need the energy that only young fresh ideologues can provide. At the Times this has been provided by Arthur Gregg Sulzberger. Brought in as the publisher at the very young age of 37, the new Sulzberger looks, acts, and speaks the part of an SJW executive.
At Breitbart we read about the hypocrisy: “New York Times Alleges Conspiracy After Backing Boycotts of Conservative Media:”
New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger alleged that his newspaper was the target of a vast right-wing conspiracy on Sunday — after the paper boosted an effort to shut down conservative media by encouraging boycotts since early 2017.
Last week, Breitbart News exposed a history of racist and antisemitic tweets by a Times politics editor, Tom Wright-Piersanti. The Times admitted Sunday, in a news article, that the tweets were racist and antisemitic — though it did not indicate what action, if any, it was taking against the editor. In a statement to newsroom staff, Sulzberger — who did not acknowledge that the tweets were racist and antisemitic — alleged that the Times had been the victim of “a coordinated campaign by President Trump’s allies to attack hundreds of journalists in retaliation for coverage of the administration.”The Times‘ objection is rich, given that it boosted an effort by left-wing activists to shut down conservative media solely for their journalists’ coverage of the left and their editorial support for President Donald Trump.
Arthur Gregg Sulzberger looks like someone without the gravitas to run a very large American corporate business organization and without the judgment to run the most influential news organization in the world. Yet, even though his father was young enough to keep going for decades as the chief exec, they brought in the kid early. I would suspect that A.G. Sulzberger’s chief qualification is his blind willingness to lead the “woke” crusade.
What does this all mean for we few, we happy few, on the right? Imagine that you are an epidemiologist and have been fighting a dangerous infectious disease. Assume that some well-known antibiotic like penicillin has been working well. Now suddenly there is a new outbreak of the disease but this time you realize that there must be a new mutant strain and the old penicillin won’t work. You can’t just keep on doing the same thing and hoping. You’ve got to look for something new that will work. Purely by accident (actually, the original penicillin was an accident too) you discover a powerful new “orange” antibiotic. It has a few side effects that annoy but ones you can live with. However, this new orange stuff really packs a punch and it nails the new mutant strain.
New challenges require new methods to confront the challenge. That potent orange stuff is really working because you can hear the new mutant strain scream!!
In the Washington Post, Jen Rubin said we have to ‘Burn Down the Republican Party,’
Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin called for the shunning and shaming of the supporters of President Donald Trump, which she argued was part of a plan to “burn down” the GOP and start from new.
Don’t worry about Jen, the Washington Post health care plan has extensive new coverage for psychiatric services; one of the coverage codes is for TDS. She’ll be just fine but this morning she beat the stuffing out of her Teddy Bear so, for now, she has been placed in the safe space facility at the Post. Plenty of Hot Cocoa and soothing music and she’ll be as right as rain.
The Big Platforms Are Really Asking for It
‘Victory!’: Twitter Unlocks Mitch McConnell Campaign Account After GOP Boycott
Twitter locked McConnell’s campaign account @Team_Mitch Wednesday after the account posted footage of a protester threatening the Senate Majority Leader at his house in Kentucky. The social media company said that the footage featured violent threats, which reportedly violates their social media content policy.
Many Republican groups, such as the Republican National Committee (RNC), the Donald Trump campaign, the National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC), and the National Senate Republican Committee (NRSC) boycotted Twitter, saying that they will no longer purchase ads on the online platform.
The Twitter communications team said Friday that they will unlock McConnell’s campaign account, claiming that they have reviewed this case more closely. The social media platform said that the video featuring leftists making violent threats will feature a “sensitive media” tag.
In response to the news, McConnell’s campaign said, “Victory!!!”
…McConnell also sent out a campaign fundraising email with a statement from Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), one of the Senate’s foremost critics of big tech. “Big Tech continues to censor conservatives – no matter the cost,” the email read.
If an umpire demonstrates over and over again that he is incapable of fairly calling balls and strikes, demonstrating a clear bias for one team over another, he will be out of a job. Somebody else will be calling the balls and strikes for him. If a major corporate entity of any kind is dumb enough to unfairly hassle the Senate Majority Leader then, you know, they deserve whatever they are going get and then some. Keep it up major platforms, and you’re going to find out.
Maybe Silicon Valley ought to focus on problems in their own backyard and just leave partisan national politics alone.
Apparently, nothing can break through the bizarre Woke hypnotic trance that California appears to be stuck in. Perhaps when the Bubonic Plague actually breaks out in California and panic sets in, something will change. I wonder if the CDC will consider quarantining the entire state. Keep it up California, and you’re going to find out.
What We’ve Learned Since Sunday
1. The Dayton shooter was a very left-wing supporter of Elizabeth Warren and hated Donald Trump. He was also a Satanist. He drove to the site of the shooting with his best friend and younger sister in the car. He got out took his rifle and shot both his best friend and younger sister first and then started in on the random targets.
2. The El Paso shooter did not post his “manifesto” on 8chan. He posted it on Instagram. After the incident had taken place someone reposted it on 8chan. 8chan claims that it is being falsely accused of harboring this guy. 8chan says that it has always complied with violent content guidelines and with any request that law enforcement agencies have made of them. 8chan says it has lost its internet provider because of being falsely connected to the shooter. They ask why hasn’t Instagram been shut down as Instagram was the shooter’s actual platform. The Dayton shooter was using Twitter and Facebook.
3. The President’s excellent speech, calming and unifying, was originally reported by the New York Times with the headline “Trump urges unity v. racism.” After a series of partisan attacks by Democratic presidential candidates and AOC, the New York Times altered its own headline to, “Assailing hate but not guns.” No one can remember the Times ever doing anything like this before.
Trump blasts NYT for changing headline under pressure from ‘Radical Left Democrats’
President Trump took The New York Times to task Wednesday for changing the headline of its lead article about his remarks on the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton after taking heat from the left for not being critical enough toward him.
The pattern is clear. Incredibly inflammatory statements by Democrats are always acceptable political discourse. Violent content on high-end big platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are just accidents that after an inordinate amount of time might be addressed and might not.
Calling the border holding areas in which illegals are being processed before release “concentration camps” is ridiculously false and worse intensely inflammatory. Will AOC be condemned for her rhetoric that could have easily induced the Dayton shooter to action? Will Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram be forced to take down Antifa from their platforms? Will they be held accountable? Will the Democratic Presidential candidates be held accountable for gross demagoguery that could easily inflame another Dayton type shooter?
Unfortunately, we know the answers to these questions.
But Mueller Was an Honorable Man
How Mueller’s Lawyers Spun the OLC Guidance on Indicting a Sitting President
From this commonsense proposition, Mueller’s staff leapt to an untenable conclusion: Because the OLC guidance prevents the Justice Department from formally charging a sitting president, poor President Trump would have been denied his due process protections if Mueller had recommended an indictment: It would be as if the government slimed him by publicizing the evidence but denied him his day in court to clear his name.
If this doesn’t insult the intelligence, nothing will. Sliming the uncharged president by publicizing the evidence is exactly what Mueller’s team did.
The special counsel’s staff wrote a 448-page tome, overflowing with details about a traitorous collusion plot that never happened and the obstruction of an investigation that was never actually impeded in the slightest. Even though the regulations call for a confidential report from the special counsel to the attorney general, the Mueller report was patently written with the intention that it would be transmitted to Congress and the public. (Indeed, even before the report was submitted to the Justice Department, various industrious publishers planned to make it available for sale.) Moreover, when AG Barr undertook to announce only the special counsel’s bottom-line conclusions, Mueller’s staff threw a fit, grousing to the media that Barr was wrongly withholding the report and denying the public the condemnatory narrative in which they had couched these benign conclusions.
Another of many reasons the Mueller staff’s claim to be protecting Trump is laughable: If Mueller and his staff were actually playing by the rules, they would have demanded that their report to Barr be kept confidential — like a normal consultation between a prosecutor and a supervisor about whether an indictment should be sought. If they had done that, there would have been no need for their touching expression of concern about the president’s rights. Any recommendation to indict or other prosecutorial deliberations would have remained non-public; only the indictment, if one were ever filed, would become public. But Mueller’s staff wrote a report that was patently intended to be the antithesis of confidential. Due process is protected when the regulations are followed, not when they are flouted.
The game was up but this was not enough. The conspirators decided to take one last try at destroying a Presidency. Honorable men, one and all; Mueller was the noblest American of them all. He announced to all the world and a congressional investigation that he had not exonerated Trump. No American prosecutor ever exonerates anybody. You are innocent until proven guilty. Nowhere in American law does the concept of exoneration exist. There is no need for it. But Mueller was an honorable man.

The Pirate State
Piracy has been a mainstay of Islamic culture since the beginning of the religion. Although they had conquered the southern rim of the Mediterranean Sea, they had no ability to make proper use of it for trade. Instead, they became the greatest pirates of all time. From the 9th century on, piracy was a mainstay of Islamic culture.
In 1801 Thomas Jefferson sent a flotilla to deal with the Barbary Pirates. Once they had been soundly defeated in battle they were quite happy to allow safe commerce for American shipping. No kidding.
Iran, in the great tradition of Islamic piracy, is using the Strait of Hormuz to extort the shipping going through. Of course, they would also like to be extorting all of the shipping going through Suez and, to that end, have hired on the Houthi jihadists to attempt to take control of Yemen. So far they haven’t managed to accomplish this but not for lack of trying.
Great Britain has thwarted the Iranians by stopping one of their oil tankers. Tehran, pirate central, claims that the British are behaving like pirates. Instead of taking these claims to the UN or some such international body, they have tried to attack British ships in the Straits. What a surprise.
They have planted bombs on the hulls of tankers. They have tried to rush a warship with their fast boats. They have tried to attack a warship with a remote-controlled bomb ship.

Britain has hundreds of years of experience dealing with pirates and has now sent its third warship to the Straits to deal with the Pirate State.
Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused Britain of “piracy” after the Royal Marines seized a supertanker believed to be carrying Iranian crude oil to Syria on July 5.
He has called for the immediate release of the oil tanker Grace 1, which was detained on suspicion it was breaking European sanctions by taking oil to Syria.
In a TV speech, the Ayatollah said: “Evil Britain commits piracy and steals our ship and gives it a legal appearance.
“Iran and those who believe in our system will not leave such vicious deeds unanswered.”
Mysteriously, I have been receiving communications from Scapa Flow (Britain’s chief naval base in WWI and WWII). These signals may have bounced back from some radiation belt far out in space and are thus quite old.
Hmm … the tune does sound familiar. Perhaps we should listen to something more modern. This is from Her Majesty’s Royal Marines. They took control of the Iranian Oil Tanker.
Yes, yes, of course, I recognize it now. Hopefully, the idiot Iranians will recognize it too.
Increase Sanctions, Add a Carrier Group, Take 2 Aspirins, and Call Me in the Morning.
Iran and the Levers of Global Power – Victor Davis Hanson
In sum, Trump has some choices with Iran that few other presidents have enjoyed. After considering all the bad alternatives, Trump will likely conclude that the good one is to stay calm as Iran implodes, to not play omnipotent global cop responsible for the safe commerce of those who oppose U.S. withdrawal from the Iran deal, and to not weaken sanctions — and be ready to hit back hard should Iran be so foolish as to kill Americans in international space.
No matter what he tweets, no matter what hysteria is ginned up by anti-Trump, Trump is perfectly on target with Iran. They thought they could manipulate him. Instead, it is Iran that is getting further and further behind the eight ball.
Lockup billions of dollars…directly pressure the supreme leadership…prevent hiding of money…cut their oil exports to a trickle. Yeah, that’s got to be working.
Iranian official threatens to seize British oil tanker
An Iranian official has said a British oil tanker should be seized, if a detained Iranian ship is not released.
British Royal Marines helped officials in Gibraltar to seize the super-tanker Grace 1 on Thursday, after it was suspected of carrying oil from Iran to Syria, in breach of EU sanctions.
Iran later summoned the British ambassador in Tehran to complain about what it said was a “form of piracy”.
Mohsen Rezaei said Iran would respond to bullies “without hesitation”.
Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
