Lies, Damn Lies, and Hillary Clinton

After the triumphant torching of the American compound and the dragging through the streets for photo ops of the dead body of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blamed the attack on a mean video produced in the United States. She and various officers of the government laid the blame on this video, and had the video maker, an Egyptian-born Copt, arrested and jailed, ostensibly for probation offenses and using a false name in trying to distribute his film. (He is said to be living in a homeless shelter and has a $100,000 bounty on his head offered by a Pakistani railways minister.)

These days, of course, Hillary Clinton outright denies that she ever said that an internet video was to blame.

Here is a nice summary by Jake Tapper of Hillary Clinton’s changing characterizations regarding Benghazi. (The link is a CNN site, so I can’t embed it here.)

I know a video that Hillary does not want Americans to see. It shows the body of Chris Stevens being pulled out from a hole in the rubble of the building he died in to a waiting crowd of eager men who, when they dump him on the floor and gather round, dance and shout, “Woo Hoo!! Allahu Akbar!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuTHmLEy5BE&bpctr=1472379779

We all know that Hillary Clinton is a liar. But she would actually much rather we spent our time arguing about whether or not she is a liar and a weasel, and none focusing on the results of her lie. I twice heard people on talk shows this week talking about how sad it is that the Clintons just don’t seem to get it that if they were just more forthright, their problems would disappear. I was surprised to hear no pushback from other panelists, because in fact the dishonesty is the strategy. The Clintons leap agilely from lie to lie, never answering directly. They are really quite amazing, like watching Michael Jordan float untouched through a sea of defense to score again. She could not ever be more forthright because she is completely corrupt and she has perfected the act over decades, but a weird paralysis (politeness? fear of lawsuits?) prevents it from being said.

I was just watching an old video of Geert Wilders from 2012. He begins talking about the internet video that caused Benghazi without a trace of irony, because, like most people paying attention, he accepted easily the possibility that there might be violent riots over people taking deadly offense from such a silly movie and did not know that four years later the idea that it had ever been claimed that an internet video caused it would be dismissed as “the fog of war.” So he does not speak of the fact that the video had nothing to do with the attack, because it was not commonly reported then. Wilders goes on to talk about the many Western leaders in Europe and North America who used this narrative of the video to advance their agenda to curb free speech, culminating in President Obama at the United Nations, condemning the “crude and disgusting video” that “is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well.” The president in his speech does express support for the idea of free speech, but his moral equivalence with regard to the insult taken by the Muslim world and the Western world is, well, crude and disgusting.

We do not expect other nations to agree with us on every issue, nor do we assume that the violence of the past weeks or the hateful speech by some individuals represent the views of the overwhelming majority of Muslims, any more than the views of the people who produced this video represents those of Americans.

So why does any of this matter?

Hillary Clinton’s lies, Barack Obama’s lies, about Benghazi are part of the larger swirl of disinformation and abjuration and abasement of submission. The Administration has just admitted it sent a ransom payment to Iran. Secretary of State John Kerry thanked the Iranians after they captured and humiliated our sailors, and then the US Navy fired two officers from the vessel. We have a choice in November. We must not elect this horrible woman, this completely corrupt individual.

Stop Crooked Hillary.

For those interested, here is the movie “Innocence of Muslims,” the Internet video that did not spark it all:

For democrats in general, and democratic administrations since 2000, there are little to no consequences for false things said or actions taken.

When one can do or say anything and not have consequences resonate from those utterances or actions, why change one’s behavior?

Until the American people begin holding people responsible for their false utterances and actions, they  will continue to occur.  Until then, we get what we deserve.

Have you been following the Seth Rich story and the fact that Wikileaks is offering a $25,000 reward for information about his death?

Or the fact that there is missing information in the Vince Foster records in the National Archive?

I’m not really following it, but I understand that there’s a string of unlikely deaths in the Clintons’ past.

    Great post, Mama Toad.

I remain angry at the Republican prosecutors and legislators who went after Bill Clinton’s sexual indiscretions when he was in office. There were so many other crimes to get him on.

And because they botched that, because they didn’t go after the real crimes like Travelgate, these two are still around instead of being in prison.

It makes me sick to think of this repulsive, disgusting scuzzball soiling our White House with his presence ever again.

    Wow, that is interesting.

I almost had a Forrest Gump moment re: Vince Foster, as on July 20, 1993, I was driving to Washington DC to attend a week-long class on IBM Token-Ring networking (don’t ask).  I arrived much sooner than expected, and as I drove past the sign to Fort Marcy Park in the early afternoon, I thought to myself, ‘That looks like a nice little park, maybe I should stop for a break before going on to the hotel.”

    It was probably about 2PM.

Foster was last seen alive just after noon, when he left the White House.  His body was found in Fort Marcy Park at 6PM.

There are few things in my life that I am more grateful for than the little man who sits on my shoulder and occasionally whispers in my ear, “Remember, thou art mortal.”

But on July 20, 1993, he must have been whispering, “Keep driving.”

So I did.  And I’m very glad.

Wow. You might have dodged a bullet there (really). The trail of dead bodies around the Clintons consists of those who knew too much or saw too much, and I’ve read the total is anywhere from 43 to much higher. These are very very evil and ruthless people. I can’t believe my eyes at how close she is to the White House.

Gang,  I am convinced that Vince Foster did kill himself.   Suicide is unnervingly common, and I have a pretty high regard for the Capitol Hill Police that handled the scene of his death.

It does not help the conservative cause to keep promoting this particular conspiracy theory.

There are other conspiracies that are deserving of our attention.

Regarding Vince Foster, I always thought the Clintons brought some conspiracy theorizing on themselves because they stole some files out of Vince Foster’s office before the police investigators were allowed in.

We never found out what it was that was taken.   That is where there is still an unresolved issue.

If Clinton doesn’t suffer any consequences for her corruption now, you better believe she never will if she’s elected president.

It’s not necessary to vote for Trump. Just vote against Clinton.

    Mama Toad.

Thank you very much for asking.

I so wish we could . I would love to see you again and meet other Ricochet people. We have a family thing going on all weekend . The most away from it we can be is a little time to re-start attending a church that, come to think of it, you told us about.

I would love to be at Toad Hall the next gathering there. Am wishing I didn’t have to miss this one.
