The Ricochet Knowledge Base

The Ricochet Knowledge Base is a place where you can find answers to frequently asked questions, and solutions to common problems.

Use the search bar at the top of the Knowledge Base page to find what you’re looking for. You can also browse the articles displayed on the page in the most recent, most commented on, and randomly generated widgets. Scroll down the page to find the Knowledge Base topics. You can click on, for instance, Technical or Writing & Style to find all of the articles in those topics.

When you are reading an individual Knowledge Base article, you will see the special Knowledge Base sidebar, with the Related KB Articles widget. This widget will display other KB articles within the same topic as the one you’re currently reading. Also in the sidebar will be the Recent KB Articles and Suggested KB Articles. The latter displays a randomly generated list of articles. You can also use the navigation buttons to move to the previous or next article (by publish date) within the same Knowledge Base topic.

The Knowledge Base is far from comprehensive at the moment, so all members are invited to contribute. If there’s something that you think should be addressed, simply write a post on the Member Feed explaining what the issue is and (preferably) what the solution is, then email the url to Max will convert your post to a KB article. You can also tag your post “KB,” and Max will eventually find it and convert it. The more direct way is to email him the link, though.

New KB articles will appear on the member feed, sorted by publish date. Old post that are converted to KB articles may have their publish date adjusted so that they appear at the top of the member feed so that more people see them. If you see a “new” KB article with old comments, that’s why.
