It’s The End of the World As We Know It and I Feel Fine!
We made it! We made it! The end of days came and went and we didn’t die! Civilization didn’t come to an end!
Okay, I can see I have lost you. Don’t you remember when Al Gore, former Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, told an audience at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2006, that we only had 10 years to save our planet or the glaciers would melt and flood the earth?
It was while attending a screening of his global warming film An Inconvenient Truth.
“And politicians and corporations have been ignoring the issue for decades, to the point that unless drastic measures to reduce greenhouse gases are taken within the next 10 years, the world will reach a point of no return, Gore said.”
Radio host Rush Limbaugh even had a Gore countdown clock running that now has hit zero.
“We started this ten years ago, who thinks ten years down the road, other than we knew that Gore was full of it and that whatever he was saying wasn’t gonna happen, wasn’t gonna be true. “
So, as I previously stated, the good news is that we made it! The bad news is Donald Trump has taken over the media and the Republican presidential nomination. But hey as the song says…”It’s the end of the world as we know it … and I feel fine.”

Somewhere, ManBearPig is smiling.
Gore is such a doofus. Yes. The arctic was going to be ice free or some such nonsense.
Can’t help that I’m having a serious bout of schadenfreude as his predictions have failed to materialize . . . . errr meltize .
We share your celebratory sigh of relief :)
We should send Al Gore to the Arctic in just shorts and t-shirt for an extended vacation.
All expenses paid.
Hah!
Of course, if what he said is that we only had 10 years to reverse the trend, than today we hit the point of no return. Remember, always make your predictions vague enough so that you’re always right… How long until the meltdown/flooding? Who knows? All we know is that today was the last day to stop it!
Brilliant advice, Ryan.
I quote myself from my dad’s FB post about this the other day:
The implications of this are fun. If it hasn’t been saved in time, then it is Obama’s fault, since he has been president 7 of those years. If he noticed that problem and told us it has been saved, then yay, the issue is over and we don’t need to do anything. We can move on to more pressing issues. A bit of a conundrum if taken seriously, which of course it won’t be. He’ll just move the goalposts further.
The Paris accords were signed in the nick-o-time. See they saved the earth.
But when Obama was elected, the oceans began to recede, remember? So it’s to his credit that we aren’t all dead or at least super-sweaty.
Seriously, for a while there I was having a grand time watching snowstorms hit everywhere Gore was appearing. It was . . . as if Gaea were telling him something. . .
So…wait a minute. We’re not the climate change we’ve been waiting for?
So…shouldn’t we find the “Goreacle” in some jumpsuit and tennis shoes on a hilltop somewhere waiting for the waters to come in…? I, as a born and bred Tennesseean, excommunicate him from our state and cast him out into the outer darkness…which I think is academia…right?
At least Barnum pleased folks for only a nickel and they well knew it was a hoax. Man-Bear-Pig should be a Barnum display.
Al Gore was not a true Tennesseean for most of his life, including his birth:
Gore was born in Washington, D.C., the second of two children of Albert Gore, Sr., a U.S. Representative who later served as a U.S. Senator from Tennessee, and Pauline (LaFon) Gore, one of the first women to graduate from Vanderbilt University Law School.
During the school year he lived with his family in The Fairfax Hotel in the Embassy Row section in Washington D.C. During the summer months, he worked on the family farm in Carthage, Tennessee, where the Gores grew tobacco and hay and raised cattle
Gore attended the all-boys St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. from 1956 to 1965, a prestigious feeder school for the Ivy League….
Don’t have to claim him!!!
The world, as I know it, did end.
Bruce Jenner is now a girl
Paul Ryan is now a fiscal hawk
A Clinton says claims of sexual abuse should be believed
Marriage is about who you love
Illegal immigration is also about love
Muslim is a religion of peace
Black Lives Matter support Planned Parenthood
… and in Oregon, the government swoops in and shoots protestors who have their hands in the air. #handsupdontsho… oh, wait … they were white? Carry on.
Geez, I’ve lived through a lot of these end-of-days by now:
I’m starting to feel old.
If the previous round of major bogus predictions are any guide, the global warming hucksters have nothing to fear. John Holdgren, for example, is a former sidekick of Paul Ehrlich and a co-promulgator of the utterly asinine Population Bomb scenario. Few books based on predictions have been so spectacularly wrong and wrong in such detail. Naturally, Obama appointed Holdgren as a presidential science advisor.
Conservatives and all people of good will need to stop being compassionate to those who attempt to scare us into political submission using falsehoods. People like Ehrlich and Holdgren should always be described in print as purveyors of nonsense. They should never be permitted to speak in public forums without be questioned about their methods and motives for this nonsense. Soon, the global warming scare will collapse. We must shoot the wounded. Hunt the leaders. Alinsky the apologists. It’s what they would do to you.

That picture. Every time I see it, and pretty much every picture of His Climateness – that smile – what comes to my mind is the Joker. Where’s Batman when we need him?
Oh, maybe the Bat Cave was flooded by the rising sea level. That must be it.
Ryan M, you missed one: A Clinton says claims of sexual abuse should be ignored.
Gore was right at the time, but once we elected Obama the oceans receded and earth was healed. Don’t you people know science?
Gore still shills his bogus science. His goons post pictures of flooded streets on the island of Miami Beach during a Blood Moon, and high tides to prove his point. As if high tides never flooded sea level streets before, and liberals just eat it up as though it were revelation.
I just can’t figure out why banks are still offering 30 year mortgages for coastal properties all over Florida.
Florida real estate is booming even though on the brink of utter doom.
Go figure. Only the democrats can solve that equation.
Perfect!
Pro-Tip!
I wish I could like this 10 times! lol
