Epix Fail: Streaming Service Pulls Couric’s Anti-Gun Documentary
According to gun rights activist John Lott and BearingArms.com, Epix, the streaming service behind Katie Couric’s Under the Gun documentary, has pulled the movie from circulation.
After initially defending @katiecouric movie, Epix just announced that bec of fraudulent editing it is pulling the movie from being aired.

A quick glance at the film’s page on Epix shows the documentary is “Currently Not Playing On Epix”, a change in status from earlier today.
The film was heavily criticized for editing out key responses by gun rights activists regarding background checks, drawing the ire of mainstream outlets such as The Washington Post and National Public Radio for her actions.

Another wonderful pun in a title.
I like this trend.
Oh, and one of the inventors of the AR-15 says that HBO distorted his views on what America’s most common rifle can and cannot do.
If the case for “common sense” gun control is so strong, why do people have to lie so much in support of it?
Excellent. Congratulations to all of those who have been digging in to the details of the documentary’s deceptive editing.
Who woulda thunk it, sweet little Katie Couric is a lying [redacted]. Goodness me, there must be evil everywhere.
It’s so satisfying for once to see a sham documentary given scrutiny and actual consequences for the responsible parties. Considering the torrent of criticism for the PP videos with full footage released by the filmmakers, this gun documentary deserved all the criticism it received and more.
Bad news: the documentary might not have been pulled, just moved from the premium window to the VOD window.
If they did not pull it, they would have faced defamation lawsuits from the people falsely and maliciously shown dumbfounded…
I’m surprised they didn’t triple-down with the old “fake but accurate” from Ratherworld days. “Yes, it was deceptively edited, but gun zealots really don’t have any answers about what to do about the rampaging plague of gun violence…”
So the pre-arranged plan was to move an expensive documentary from premium into video on demand. That I might be able to buy, except that they did it at the same time they ran into problems with it being exposed as fundamentally untruthful.
This is the streaming service equivalent of resigning to spend more time with your family.
Not buying it.
I’m waiting for an Epix spokesperson to defend Katie’s “documentary” just like this…
Epix statement:
“We did not pull the [documentary] and there is nothing going on other than the distribution plan negotiated in January,” Nora Ryan told the Washington Examiner’s media desk Tuesday.
“As of today, the doc moves out of the premium window – off of EPIX – and into a transactional and [electronic sell-through] window. This is part of the original agreement struck when we acquired the doc,” she added. “The distribution strategy allowed us to premiere the doc on the network and also preserve maximum value for the transactional VOD and EST windows that follow.”
Too bad I can’t edit the inside of her colon video that went viral.
People who cannot see that the dems goal is to disarm society don’t have a lot of vision. Lying is just fine to the gun grabbers.
She got Dan Rathered.
This type of nonsense has been going on a long time. There is a gun control advocacy group that skews the statistics on school shootings. If someone pulls in to a school parking lot at 2 AM and kills themselves with a gun they classify that as a school shooting. I’ve forgotten their name but other advocacy groups will at times use their stats.
This is the just the one time she/they got caught ,how many other stories over all the years were edited in this way but there was no back up audio to expose it? This should call into question every ‘report’ she’s ever done.
Nowadays anyone who sits down for an interview with the press should be sure to video record the entire event with their own equipment. That’s as simple as setting your iPhone on a little stand. They are, and have always been slime when it comes to selective editing . We finally have the technology to try and counter it.
It’s pretty much disappeared now.
