CGI Obama Says the Funniest Things
As anyone who has seen a recent blockbuster can tell you, movie technology has come a long way. If you wanted a big, scary monster in decades past, you’d zip up a guy in a rubber suit and have him stomp on a dollhouse. These days studios use CGI which, when done right, is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. (Godzilla is real, right?)
I’ve always been more impressed not with larger-than-life CGI showing the Avengers wreck New York City, but the subtler uses. Modern films placing contemporary actors beside historic figures, or having the historic figures themselves say ridiculous things. Today some video whiz put together a hilarious collection of CGI Obama speeches that have to be seen to believed.
I’m not sure how they so perfectly synched the Obama footage with the audio, but in this video he claims that he once again made America “the most respected country on earth.” Check it out!
People don’t remember, but when I came into office, the United States in world opinion ranked below China and just barely above Russia. And today, once again, the United States is the most respected country on earth, and part of that I think is because of the work we did to reengage the world and say that we want to work with you as partners with mutual interests and mutual respect. It was on that basis we were able to end two wars while still focusing on the very real threat of terrorism and to try to work with our partners in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s the reason why we are moving in the direction of normalized relations with Cuba. The nuclear deal that we are trying to negotiate with Iran.
Ha! And you won’t believe what the CGI guy has him say in this one:
“One of my core principles is that I will never engage in a politics in which I’m trying to divide people” —@POTUS http://t.co/eKYB5zdKnE
— The White House (@WhiteHouse) June 1, 2015
To watch the President who called his opponents “cowards,” “hostage-takers,” and “terrorists” say that he doesn’t divide people is a bit too unrealistic for parody, but the CGI is right on the money. Whatever you might think of the politics of the entertainment industry, this proves that Hollywood tech can be used to parody the left as well as the right.

OK, I think I get what you’re doing here, but at the same time I want to flag you for tricking me into watching 4 minutes of this [CoC violation]. That’s just mean.
Wait… do you mean these videos are REAL?
Holy crap.
Redemption through Emily LaTella. (Somewhat mollified.)
Clearly Mr. Obama is delusional.
I’d comment more, but I’ve got my God in one hand, Guns in the other, and it’s kind of hard to type…
If you want to see some real wonders of subtle CGI on TV you need to be watching Murdoch Mysteries just for the CGI recreations of turn of the 19th/20th centuries Toronto.
CGI Obama is a real laugh riot, though.
I will never believe you again Jon, I hate throwing up in my mouth!
Wow, Obama’s ode to his own integrity in the second video was delivered with such humility.
The Audacity…no hope…of Obama’s administration partnering with Canada. The Keystone pipeline has been great political theatre for Obama.
But it has not helped Canadian views of his admin. We also think he squandered the race relations opportunity and failed black America.
The real power of CGI is shown by the way that Obama’s nose doesn’t get any longer.
He is pretty much exhibit 1 for the type of politician he describes. He lied and dissembled to get into office and to support his policy goals, then proclaimed each disaster a success. What sets him apart is that the disasters were deliberately brought about to injure and ruin America. He is an American only in the narrowest technical sense, having neither pride in nor love for America.
You’re a clever one, Jon. What better way to unite us after the recent, um, unpleasantness than to hold up our number one object of collective loathing for satire and ridicule. It’s like throwing a sack of fresh garlic into a room full of squabbling vampires. Well played sir, well played.
Well done as always. I note though that he became uncomfortable about halfway through. He seemed to run out of script or just lost the plot. Perhaps he’s losing his [redacted for CoC]. Good, good.

His nose, though, is always going higher and higher in the air.
I do think the United States is more respected than it has been for years…By Michelle Obama. She’s really never been prouder (and like the President’s nose, that’s high company.)
The title of the memoir of CGI Obama: “You know, I actually believe my own BS”.
I had to sit through that fumbling idiot congratulate himself for 2 minutes.
What a wreck of a man.
Amazing stuff, but there is a poll confirming changed views abroad. Of course such polls are meaningless, but they do capture a reality. In most countries the folks get their information about the US the same way most Americans do, by osmosis from the media. I repeatedly find that friends and family abroad eco mainstream US media’s views. So they didn’t like Bush and it had little to do with Iraq and they like Obama and it has little to do with him. They think we’re more racist than ever, that we all have guns and there are shoot outs on all the streets and that our economy is booming. Their newspapers get AP and UP feeds, they watch CNN, and other video feeds on their local language channels. As goes US media so goes the world.
We have always been at war with Eastasia.
Okay, let me clear this up. I’m the CGI guy who put this together. I’m pretty proud of it, but edit pros will notice a couple of “tells.” First, Obama’s left hand briefly casts a shadow over his mouth. That enabled me to vary the syllable count. Second, wherever I had a problem matching audio and video, I threw in an “uh.” Obama never says “uh.”
FYI, the original audio was about the Spanish Inquisition.
1. This was funny
2. Even if any of the nonsense that the President claimed about his administration were true, he would be the least humble person to hold the office since… well… Clinton.
We bitter clingers are all alike.
