Terrorist (?) Attack in Moscow

Armed gunmen burst into a concert venue in Moscow this evening and opened fire and threw an incendiary device that has caused a fire in the hall and partially collapsed the roof. Andrei Vorobyov, Moscow’s regional governor has said in a Telegram message that 70 ambulances have been dispatched to the Crocus City Hall, a large shopping and entertainment complex northwest of central Moscow.

“Everything is being done at the scene to save people,” he wrote in the Telegram message that was translated by NBC News. “The Special Rapid Response Unit (SOBR) has been deployed. There are over 70 ambulance carriages near Crocus, doctors provide the necessary assistance to all victims.”

Is Joe Biden planning to attempt the overthrow of the duly-elected government of the state of Israel?  There’s an awful lot of purposeful “chatter” to that effect.  Even if this is just talk to placate the Jew-haters in the Democrat base, it’s beyond disgusting.  It will be beyond the pale if the Biden administration attempts […]

I was so shocked by the Hollywood pins that I could only hope that those who wore them are just incredibly stupid and not actually evil (although one does support the other). However, rather than trying to whinge about it, I decided to try to help them out with some other pins they could wear […]

First-Hand, Tragic Account of Growing Up Palestinian

I’ve seen a lot of videos, listened to many podcasts and read a great deal of history about Israel and the Gaza War. Nothing has shocked me as much as this interview with Dor Shachar, who spoke to Marissa Streit, CEO of Prager U. I rarely watch long videos, but I was mesmerized and appalled at the stories that Dor shared about growing up in Khan- Yunis, his rejection of Islam, his difficult journey of converting to Judaism, and his candor throughout. The horrors that he relates about his own life—being beaten, imprisoned, condemned and rejected by his family—are difficult to comprehend.

Got through the Pit 24 debacle ok. Thanks Drew. Then saw this river to the sea crap again.  Assume this means Hamas gets to take over all the Israeli farms, businesses and land developed over 3,0o0 years and pay off their Iranian masters. Where do the Israeli’s go?  Into the sea? What if they can’t […]

Hamas and Martyrdom

I think one of the best sources available to track the status of the Hamas/Israeli war is to listen to Dan Senor’s podcast, Call Me Back. Dan has been having weekly conversations with a friend of his, Haviv Rettig Gur, who writes for the Times of Israel. (I’ve mentioned the podcast before in another post.) In this latest podcast, I was struck by some things that Gur shared that I wasn’t aware of. And I also realized that the war could take a very different turn if Hamas begins to lose hope for victory.

The strategic change that Gur described would likely happen in January. At that point, Israel will send many of its reservists back home and will fight with a smaller force of regular IDF. They will be targeting with even more zeal the Hamas leaders in the south. Gur explained that this third strategy (after the air and land attacks) could take months or possibly years. Eventually those reservists will be called back.

Psychological Warfare in Israel

I know what you’re thinking—every war has psychological warfare, and the war in Israel is no different. The problem, though, is that the world is not just standing on the sidelines watching the fighting; the world has become an active participant, and it’s chosen the Palestinian side. But the world is not weighing the psychological aspect of the war; it is viewing the war through the lens of oppressor/oppressed, calling out Israel for its fighting strategies, where in many ways, the mental brutality that Israel has suffered is ignored.

Why does this matter? Because the world thinks it has the right to make demands of Israel and expects them to be met. And they expect the Biden administration to force the Israelis to comply.

It’s About Time: CAIR is Condemned as Anti-Semitic Group

From the time that the Council on American-Islamic Relations was formed, it was clear that its purpose was insidious. It insisted that its goal was to protect Muslims from Islamaphobia, with statements like this one :

Islamophobia Watch: CAIR’s Islamophobia watch department is charged with monitoring and exposing the network of individuals and organizations in the United States that profits politically and financially by promoting anti-Muslim bias. The department implements projects and policies aimed at achieving CAIR’s vision regarding Islamophobia in America, which looks toward the time when being Muslim carries a positive connotation and Islam has an equal place among many faiths in America’s pluralistic society.

The Two-State Solution is Impossible

Solving the conflicts between the Israelis and Palestinians has been a long-term contest. And people always complain about how complex it is: disputes about borders (although the Left rarely talks about including Israel’s security as an issue); disputes about settlements (although they have been built in the land originally settled by the Jews, called Judea and Sumeria); the so-called long-term issue of the two sides not sitting down together (even though Mahmoud Abbas has refused to meet for years). The list of reasons and concerns is endless, and inevitably, Israel is blamed for most of them.

Many observers claim that the dispute is mainly over land, and that religion is a secondary concern. Those observers are either naïve, foolish, or misinformed (or all of the above). This is a conflict primarily about religion and ideology. The Arabs have hated the Jews from the time of Mohammed, particularly at the end of the 19th century, when they began to return to the land they had been given by G-d. Any ridiculous argument about how many Jews remained after the diaspora (as if you have to maintain a certain population to have claim to a country) is misguided.

There is one fact that matters when a two-state solution is presented: neither country wants it to take place. At this point, Israel would always be threatened by Palestinians living next door to them, even if Hamas is destroyed; Palestinians still favor the Hamas agenda. And that agenda has been stated in the mission statement of Hamas, which is still in place: the Jews must be driven into the sea and Israel must be destroyed.

Terrorists Crossing our Southern—and Northern—Borders

We’ve been hearing for such a long time about the invasion of our southern border that most of us just shake our heads in disgust and roll our eyes. We’ve accepted that there’s really nothing we can do about Biden’s open borders; our national security is irrelevant to him, and we seem powerless to influence his lack of action.

But there’s lots to be concerned about, and you may not be up to date on the latest data. Our country is probably more at risk for increased crime and terrorism due to the power of the cartels, and potential terrorist attacks, than we have been in over 20 years.

No, the IDF Didn’t Massacre Israelis on October 7

While swimming in some of the vileness that counts as debate these days, I came across a video arguing that Israelis were responsible for the massacre of Oct. 7. The case rested on two key points. First, the presented claimed that Hamas only brought over light arms and no explosives (which I doubt). Second, the presenter showed Israeli press reports indicating that helicopters may have killed concertgoers while Israeli soldiers also shelled some homes in the Gaza envelope area.

The second contention is accurate. The Hebrew press has reported that the IDF shelled some homes and that the helicopter gunships might have killed people at the music festival. However, rather than making Israelis look evil, the fact that this happened actually undermines the anti-Israel crowd’s argument that deaths in Gaza are proof that Israel is a European Colonialist State conducting genocide against Palestinians.

Palestinians Embrace Hamas

What will it take for the U.S. and Europe to realize that the Palestinians support Hamas? Two recent polls, taken by Palestinian organizations, verify that despite the ugliness of Hamas’ recent horrific actions (from one poll) and its mismanagement of Gaza, Palestinians still favor their rule. Here’s a summary of the most recent poll:

A public opinion poll published on November 14 showed that 75% of Palestinians support Hamas’s murder spree, including rape and beheadings, as opposed to only 13% who disapprove.

This is one of those weirdly interesting YouTube videos made by some enterprising soul who  strapped a GoPro onto his head and walked sedately around an area of interest, filming the passing scene. In this case, the passing scene is Gaza City on a bright “bluebird” day. We see the buildings, the sidewalks, the traffic, […]
