    Morning Michael,

Loved the version, I am not familiar with the musician or the instrument, however I listened to several other songs. My favorites, in no order, “Born to be Wild”, “Layla”, and “Pipeline”. Best way to start a weekend. Thanks.

The Gayageum is a traditional Korean instrument dating back to about the 6th century.

Thanks for the find. I have never cared for the song but I loved some of her other covers especially the Nirvana and Metallica covers.

Hat tip to the “What Are You Listening To” group and LC for first calling this artist to my attention.

    Loved.

That instrument is like a dulcimer, but exponentially so!

    Micheal,

If Luna Lee is an example of the sweet free kind creative spirit of the South Koreans then there is no doubt they must be protected from their crazy humorless cousins to the North.

    Loved it.

    Regards,

    Jim

And she does a version of Hendrix that is just amazing.

It’s one of those moments where things that shouldn’t sound related do.

    Michael,

We forget that Freedom is magic! So playful and sweet, Luna wins hearts around the world while her cousins to the North wreck everything they touch and terrify the world. How many people are in prison camps in the North. Freedom!

    Regards,

    Jim

Beautiful. Can’t help but joke though. Since this is reverse cultural appropriation from the Asian realm, does that mean Katy Perry needs to apologize for her apology?

Very cool – I started watching all her performances last night and had a great time. Her instrument is very similar to the Chinese guzheng.

Only if Ms. Perry can come out with something at least as good.

Yes, as well as the Japanese koto for that matter.
