In 1994, Sharpton stood before a crowd at Kean College in New Jersey. “White folks was in the caves while we was building empires,” he said. “We built pyramids before Donald Trump even knew what architecture was…We taught philosophy and astrology [sic] and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it…Do some cracker come and tell you, ‘Well my mother and father blood go back to the Mayflower,’ you better hold your pocket. That ain’t nothing to be proud of, that means their forefathers was crooks.”
TruthRevolt, a new organization led by Ben Shapiro, has started a campaign to boycott Ritz Crackers, one of the sponsors of Al Sharpton’s MSNBC show. If successful, I suspect TruthRevolt will organize boycotts of other sponsors of Sharpton’s show, with an ultimate goal of getting Sharpton’s show dropped from MSNBC.
If the latter happens–and I promise I’m not joking when I say this–I’d put the odds at about 50-50 that some university offers Sharpton a job as a teacher.
This is crackers
I’d like to ask him what 7 times 8 is. Any bets on whether he could answer?
Will the boycott be named Crackers Against Crackers?
I tend to oppose boycotts of sponsors. I don’t like boycotts against sponsors of conservative programs, and so to be consistent I would not support this boycott. I would, however, support not watching Sharpton, and opposing him at every opportunity.
I’m not big on boycotts. Let Al spew his nonsense; his antics make the Democrat politicians who go to him to be “anointed” look ridiculous.
“You racist cracker”

Sharpton isn’t actually alone on this. In university I ran into quite a bit of scholarship on “black Socrates”, and similar nonsense. It makes for interesting reading, but is on the inellectual level of those theories that aliens built the pyramids.
The “math” and “them Greek homos” line is pretty funny. It’s too bad we can’t all laugh at this as we’ll never win the fake outrage argument.
I suppose the answer is that IF they were so great, how come there hasn’t been any serious contribution to progress from them in the past 400 years.
I am also intrigued by the fact he co-opted the Egyptians as blacks. But I suppose his answer is that it was black engineers that designed and built that actual structures. I’d love to see his reference to this kind of fact.
Black people shouldn’t be allowed to say cracker.
Only white people.
What’s up, my Cracka?!
Never mind. After hearing it, turns out I don’t want to own it anyway.
There is nothing to fear from a man who says: “We built pyramids before Donald Trump even knew what architecture was.”
As far as historic architecture goes, pyramids are the unsophisticated products of brute force. And he might have said Frank Lloyd Wright or another famous architect instead of Donald Trump.
Only white people.

Hooka Tooka my soda cracker/Does your mama chaw tobacca?
I’ll repeat what I’ve said before: Al Sharpton is as much of a racist as any KKK grand master. That he gets a free pass is indication that race relations in the United States is broken and will never, never change until the road starts going both directions.
*Sigh*
As the great Casey Stengel once said, “Can’t anybody here play this game?”
Mondelēz International, aka, part of what’s left of Kraft foods after merger mania, probably has no idea they’re even advertising in Sharpton’s show. They’re buying a platform, the networks of NBCUniversal. It gets them time on NBC, MSNBC, USA, Bravo, the Weather Channel, et. al.
And if all the advertising in the world went away from MSNBC they’d probably still make money – first through subscriber fees, and secondly just by helping defray the cost of NBC News.
And if Sharpton wasn’t so outrageous, even fewer people would even realize there is such a thing as MSNBC.
Amen Richard. It’s the same problem we’re having with our Obamacare strategy. Don’t clumsily try to shut it down. Let everyone see what leftism hath wrought.
Similarly, we should be encouraging MSNBC to keep the illiterate Sharpton in front of the cameras every night. When I watch this moron speak, my reaction is “Keep talking, Al, keep talking. Let the world see what the left is.”
So where’s the “biggest civil rights movement of our time” concerning that line?

Indeed, as far as I know, while no one is 100% certain what race the Egyptians were, most evidence points toward their being related to the Semites and Berbers. Their modern descendants, the Copts, are virtually indistinguishable from the Arabs who currently rule them, though to be fair, interbreeding may play some part in that.

Of course Sharpton said it. This was during the height of the “Black Athena” craze, when you had a professor claiming that Egypt was a black civilization (and calling you racist if you argued with him). Never mind that we have DNA evidence of exactly who the ancient Egyptians were… the direct forefathers of today’s Egyptians. If you want to know what Ramses looked like, take a walk around Cairo. Egyptian bloodlines have changed remarkably little, even after waves of invasions from Arabs, Turks, and Europeans.
My favorite conspiracy theory on this was that Napoleon ordered his soldiers to break the nose off of the Sphinx so that we couldn’t tell the Sphinx was “black”.
Now the man thinks he is Disraeli!
I disagree. The Left absolutely loves the fact that we have unilaterally disarmed in the battle to browbeat corporate America. As a result, corporate America avoids even the appearance of being friendly to our side.
Yeah, I know, we have to be above all that. Tonx but no tonx.
Only white people.

One time in Philly a little black kid called me a “sock”, it took me a second to realize it was intended as a “slur” (get it, socks are usually white).
Needless to say, I thought it was hilarious.

Nothing so esoteric. Chubby Checker.
Yup, Bernal is who I was referencing earlier. The whole Black Athena thing has been discredited in academia (give it time, though; it’ll come back), but is still a popular myth among some black Americans. I still occasionally see things like t-shirts with “Cleopatra: an important black woman”. Not too long ago, I saw a poster with “Great black figures in history” or some such, and it had Hannibal of Carthage looking like James Earl Jones. That’d be news to the Carthegians, who were colonists from Phoenicia.
Sharpton has said a lot of batsh*t crazy stuff over the years. I lived in New York back in Al’s fat days and he was as infurating and incoherent as he is now. He has graduated to a better haircut and well made suits, but underneath he is the same charlatan.
And, how sweet is it? Ritz CRACKERS is a sponsor, priceless. Maybe we can convince the German company to sponsor Rev Al.
Isn’t that picture a code of conduct violation? ;)
For yuks, you can listen to him deliver his keen insights on YouTube. Just search “sharpton greek homos.”
Traditionally races were separated by the belief that they were descended from the sons of Noah, Shem (Semites,) Ham (Black Africans,) and Japheth (White Europeans.) This was before East Asians and American Indians were well known in Judeo-Christian civilization.
A favorite from Reddit.
If you think this photo of this German delicacy is a violation of the Code of Conduct, you should see what “Dickman” was called before the name change and the imagery used with it. :)

They are nowhere to be found. Like I said we can bitch about the hypocrisy all we like we’ll never win the fake outrage argument. The vast, vast majority of the outrage when someone makes an insensitive remark is manufactured and fake. Like the dumbass politicians who made the rape/pregnancy remarks last election cycle. You can certainly question his electability based on his rank stupidity but the left’s outrage (or rage) at his statement was pure theatre.
