Mr. & Mrs. Grayson Stay In Florida

I lost! So did my wife!

I lost! So did my wife!

If this doesn’t meet the definition of schadenfreude, then I don’t know what does. There will be no Graysons in Congress next year!

Florida Congressman Alan Grayson and his new wife, Dena Grayson, wanted to be the first husband-wife team to serve in the U.S. Senate and House at the same time. Instead the two became co-losers in Tuesday’s primaries. Alan Grayson was crushed by his fellow congressman, Patrick Murphy, in the U.S. Senate race. And Dena Grayson — who married Alan Grayson mid-campaign and changed her last name over Memorial Day weekend as she ran for his congressional seat — lost in a three-way race won by state Sen. Darren Soto.

More:

There was a deep irony in the Graysons’ losses.

Alan Grayson ran for Senate with the belief that Democrats needed a true-blue progressive. But in having his wife run for his 9th Congressional District seat, she divided up the progressive vote with Grayson’s former aide and adviser, Susannah Randolph. And that allowed Soto — the type of deal-making Chamber of Commerce-like centrist Democrat that Grayson has denigrated — to waltz in, partly with the strong backing of voters of Puerto Rican heritage in the Orlando-area district.

And you thought that there wasn’t going to be any good news in the 2016 cycle.

I looked briefly for a list of his “greatest hits” but didn’t want to post any of them, because I didn’t want to get marked for a COC violation.

This means that both Grayson and Weiner are roaming the countryside.

No good can come of that.

And no, it is not my turn to watch either one of them.

I just hope a sexting scandal involving Grayson doesn’t surface…

I wouldn’t be able to wash out my eyes fast enough!

Ultimately, this is about holding the Senate seat.  Didn’t Murphy (who beat Grayson) beat Alan West?  We heard a lot during the primaries about Floridians being dissatisfied with Rubio.

He just won his primary 72-19, which while it doesn’t deny that there are problems also doesn’t look catastrophic. I agree with you, though, about mixed feelings. Murphy isn’t just a tougher candidate for Rubio to beat, he’s less likely to say things that would make it harder for Democrats in other races to succeed.

Maybe not so tough.  Murphy has had some skeletons pop up out of his closet lately.

He will be back because Democrat voters have no principles or are just ignorant of his crazy antics. He lost his election to Webster in 2012 and in 2014 won another district.  Rubio is going keep his seat the presidential coverage helped him a lot I think. Its not quite safe but he should win it by 5 or 6 points is by 50% prob right now.

Grayson will get a media job somewhere. MSNBC will probably scoop him up. He’s a red meat guy for their audience.

Weiner? Job prospects not so great. You could say that Weiner is screwed >:)

Johnnie Alum 13: Florida Congressman Alan Grayson and his new wife, Dena Grayson…

This is the most baffling part to me.  I could understand someone marrying Alan Grayson when he was a young man who maybe seemed decent, then he matured into an [expletive].  Why would anyone marry Alan Grayson as he exists in the 21st century?  Was her second choice marrying a bucket of poison?

With this loss, we won’t have Alan Grayson to kick around anymore.

Well, wait a minute, I’m not sure we’re done kicking him. After all, just because he’s out of any race, doesn’t mean we can’t still keep kicking him. Come on, let’s keep it up!

A few years ago, Charlie Manson had a fiance…

So I guess that means that there is someone out there for everyone.

@johnniealum13 – yeah, there are some ladies who like prisoners because at least they know where they are at all times!  But even though Manson had a fiance, turns out her brain damage was only temporary –  http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/charles-manson-wedding-off-after-it-emerges-that-girlfriend-afton-elaine-burton-just-wanted-his-10034793.html

I’m guessing Mrs. Grayson’s brain damage is more permanent.
