In Washington D.C., 16th Street between K Street and the White House has been repaved and the “mural” of big yellow letters is gone. Savor the southward view because DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that it will be repainted within days (the DC government doing anything that quickly is spectacularly atypical). Moreover, the plaza setup will be made permanent, which I guess means no traffic on the sacred space which may be an inconvenience to the buildings in that two-block stretch who expect deliveries etc.
A movement based on an entirely false account of the deaths of Trayvon Martin and later of Michael Brown has turned into a profitable (a billion-dollar venture yet?) enterprise selling indulgences to woke corporate executives. Claiming the mantle of MLK when the real legacy is more that of PT Barnum is perversely very American. What a farce this is.Published in
