Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah: Mickey Mouse Plans to Shove the 1619 Project Down America’s Collective Throat

I’m going to tip my hand here: I work for the Walt Disney Company. And the Walt Disney Company is easily the most Leftist, politically correct company on the planet. The only difference between working for Disney and the DNC is the characters at Disney are slightly less cartoonish.

Just when I thought things could not become more unbearable – and this is after nearly a year of sniveling, pandering e-mails, and virtual town halls about social justice and how the company is resolved never to give another white man another promotion ever again – today’s Zoom call began with coworkers talking about how “proud” and “emotional” they are to be a part of bringing the New York Times’ race-baiting, historically discredited 1619 Project to the masses as a series of propaganda programs across its television and online platforms.

Not only will Mickey Mouse be spreading the racial divisiveness and hatred of America to ABC, Hulu, FX, and National Geographic Channel, but they were most excited that this would be put “in schools,” where the minds of future generations can be poisoned into believing that America was essentially founded by a coven of pale-faced Death Eaters hellbent on enslaving all the muggles of color to their Satanic capitalist urges.

This is what your Disney World tickets, Captain America backpacks, and Baby Yoda plushies are paying for.

The corporate media machine has already cranked into double-speed in order to ensure the author of the opinion piece that Disney parks have become too woke is ground to pieces:

    • Man Roasted for Arguing ‘Wokeness’ Is Ruining Disney World Rides – The Wrap (a.k.a., “The Crap,” in the industry)
    • Disney Adult Went Viral For Complaining Disney World Is Too ‘Woke’ Now – UPROXX
    • Jonathan VanBoskerck Should Stop Whining About Disney World – Mediaite
    • Disney Trends as Social Media Slams Op-Ed Criticizing the Company’s ‘Wokeness’ – CBR
    • Self-described ‘Christian Republican’ mocked for criticising Disney World as too ‘woke’ – MSN, Yahoo, The Independent (This seems to be the title coming off news services.)
    • A Disney fan complained that ‘wokeness is ruining’ the Magic Kingdom and the responses are great – Upworthy

Yes, trashing a stranger for expressing his sincere opinion is “great”! As in the days of feudalism, the most potent tool the nobility have to keep the lower classes in their stations is mockery.

Dissent will not be tolerated. Shut up, give us your money, and swallow the wokeness – or suffer the consequences.

Elephant and I obviously get the same emails. Fortunately, thanks to Ricochet, ESPN and Disney are in my rear view mirror.

Amazingly, Disney has been treated much better by the DiSantis Administration in Florida than they have been in California. And yet, they cannot see it.

The solution, of course, is to drag Florida down to California’s level – not vice versa. Welcome to Joe Biden’s America.

That’s just Leftist America. They always drag down those at the top, because they require an underclass that will be dependent on them.

    Too expensive!

My 8-year olds were BORED! (I thank the Lord!) Why? how? Because DisneyWorld is boring! Remember when Wonderful World of Disney was on TV? And they NEVER showed cartoons?! Yawn!

And it’s way too crowded – holy cow, we spent $400 to stand in lines all day and night???

Disney was, it’s not Disney, hasn’t been since … when? How about the great cartoonist’s strike?

No amount of wokeness will convince the Disney-loving masses to throw their commemorative Mickey ears in the trash. Why? Because Disney is their culture. Take away Disney, and what do you have? Nothing. Disney already owns the American childhood, and Disney increasingly owns American adulthood, too, since so many Americans now live in a state of extended adolescence.

This is the problem with American conservatism: It has nothing to conserve.

My wife works for Lucasfilm and the Zoom woke town halls seem perpetual.  There was a high concentration around the Carano defenestration and the most recent was related to the Anti-Asian moral panic.  My wife has them running on a separate device while she goes on with her finance work.  She puts up with it and is overly “all sides” in viewpoints so it doesn’t seem to rankle her much.

I don’t know if Disney is in fear of their employees a la “And the Children Shall Lead” or what.

Myself on the other hand, quit a job early to avoid the oncoming DEI training bus.  That was when COVID was just starting and before George Floyd.  But that’s another story for another time.

Disney effectively marketed to adults.  Kids don’t know if the parents or grandparents aren’t pushing it.  Our son was never interested in Disney.  My husband, whose parents would never have taken him to an amusement park when he was a child (ironically they were part of the NY liberal intelligensia), desperately wanted to take our son to Disney.  Kid wasn’t interested, so we saved a boatload of money.

I’m not sure how that can be, though, since we keep being fed statistics about how the workforce at Disney is too white – again, this is by our Disney overlords – and how managerial and executive positions need to be less white in the future. In short, these Zoom calls keep reinforcing to this white majority that, as far as future promotions are concerned, they can forget it.

This is from a group of well-heeled white folks showing off their well-decorated, very expensive L.A. or NYC residences. It all has this air of, “I got mine; sucks to be you.” No, there’s no fear there. They know that people who need their jobs will just quietly choke on the wokeness. Meanwhile, the bosses can get their endorphin rush from “making the world better.” Disney executives are playing with people’s careers and lives as a way to feel good about themselves.

The Chief one is new to me, and good, but somehow sounds more like Warren, if her “career” had taken the same path.
