Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah: Mickey Mouse Plans to Shove the 1619 Project Down America’s Collective Throat

I’m going to tip my hand here: I work for the Walt Disney Company. And the Walt Disney Company is easily the most Leftist, politically correct company on the planet. The only difference between working for Disney and the DNC is the characters at Disney are slightly less cartoonish.

Just when I thought things could not become more unbearable – and this is after nearly a year of sniveling, pandering e-mails, and virtual town halls about social justice and how the company is resolved never to give another white man another promotion ever again – today’s Zoom call began with coworkers talking about how “proud” and “emotional” they are to be a part of bringing the New York Times’ race-baiting, historically discredited 1619 Project to the masses as a series of propaganda programs across its television and online platforms.

Not only will Mickey Mouse be spreading the racial divisiveness and hatred of America to ABC, Hulu, FX, and National Geographic Channel, but they were most excited that this would be put “in schools,” where the minds of future generations can be poisoned into believing that America was essentially founded by a coven of pale-faced Death Eaters hellbent on enslaving all the muggles of color to their Satanic capitalist urges.

This is what your Disney World tickets, Captain America backpacks, and Baby Yoda plushies are paying for.

    Excellent rant. I particularly loved:

Thankfully I’ve never cared about going to Disneyland, etc.  And I lost any interest in the Avengers movies before Disney took over.  (I never had any interest in other Marvel stuff.)

I hope Disney will rip out Tomorrowland and put in a “1619land” or “Yesterland”.   It will fulfill the needs of everyone wanting to satisfy their collective guilt.

To quote yet another Disney-owned media property that has completely sold out to Leftist dogma:

That used to be satire against the sort of True Believers who run Disney (and the champagne socialists who make The Simpsons). Now it’s just a reflection of who they really are…

We can’t stop there. Adventureland? More like Colonialismland! Frontierland? Try Indigenous Genocideland! The Haunted Mansion? Clearly that’s an old plantation house – those must be the ghosts of all the dead slaves the massa’ oppressed! Pirates of the Caribbean? Most of the population of the Caribbean is black – where’s the racial representation on that ride?! “It’s a Small World”? That’s nothing but a celebration of the white man’s subjugation of the world. And what’s at the center? A great big castle – a shining symbol of Eurocentric hegemony and white supremacy to dominate everything!

If Disney was really serious about all its “diversity, equity, and inclusion” nonsense, the first thing it would have to do is bulldoze the Magic Kingdom and all four Disneylands.

How do you get through it – you must have a hole in your tongue from biting it so much….Why is Disney leading the charge? This is socialism/Marxism 101 and then some – we’re being infiltrated by a poisonous mindset and there are young generations and children who don’t know that.

Reminds me of various Middle Eastern Arab state TV productions of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a fabricated (and plagiarized from various earlier works) anti-Semitic essay first published in Russia in 1903 that claimed to describe the worldwide Jewish conspiracy for world domination. It has been called the most influential anti-Semitic work ever written. Concerning the TV productions:

In 2001–2002, Arab Radio and Television produced a 30-part television miniseries entitled Horseman Without a Horse, starring prominent Egyptian actor Mohamed Sobhi, which contains dramatizations of the Protocols. The United States and Israel criticized Egypt for airing the program. Ash-Shatat (Arabic: الشتات The Diaspora) is a 29-part Syrian television series produced in 2003 by a private Syrian film company and was based in part on the Protocols. Syrian national television declined to air the program. Ash-Shatat was shown on Lebanon’s Al-Manar, before being dropped. The series was shown in Iran in 2004, and in Jordan during October 2005 on Al-Mamnou, a Jordanian satellite network.

What will be the similarities between The Protocols… and the 1619 Project “documentaries”? For over a century, one has been and continues to be racist (judging and dehumanizing people based on their religion and ethnic origins), racially divisive, and filled with deliberate but thoroughly discredited historical inaccuracies, and the other will be racist (judging people based on their skin color), racially divisive, and will be filled with deliberate but thoroughly discredited historical inaccuracies.

I really don’t understand how this avalanche of divisive garbage gathered steam seemingly instantaneously.   When Walt was still around, Disney was such an admired company.  My dad bought stock after he saw how well-run Disneyland was.  That stock put me through college.

This is growing more dangerous by the day…and I don’t think I am overstating the case.  No, I don’t look to corporations for anything, and the purpose of a corporation is to make money for itself and any investors.  But how this constant drumbeat of racism racism racism is going to do anything worthwhile for anyone is beyond me.

It’s getting increasingly hard to do. I really wish I could quit. I hate it. The wokeness is unbearable many days. It’s not the company I signed up to work for, certainly. (I came in through a corporate merger.) But the people running the show really are dyed-in-the-wool Leftist True Believers, a group of gold-plated millionaire and billionaire Useful Idiots. They genuinely believe they will change the world “for good.” They believe it’s corporations’ duty to join in the social engineering crusade with the government – just like companies did a century ago in Germany and Italy.

No one can call him- or herself a conservative and support Disney. They get the capital and means to destroy America from apathetic conservatives who continue to buy the consumer goods and media despite the fact that the company proudly makes it known it supports critical race theory. The money spent on your daughter’s Princess Elsa doll went into the pocket of proud racist “anti-racist” Ibram X. Kendi, whom Disney paid to lecture its employees with his white hatred propaganda. We were forced to sit through a Zoom presentation that presented the specious idea that medical workers across America are purposely giving African-Americans substandard health care because of systemic racism – the same idea that, when challenged, saw a doctor fired from the Journal of the American Medical Association recently.

That’s right: Your son’s Lightning McQueen pajamas paid for someone to spread the lie that there’s a huge conspiracy in the American health care system amongst doctors and nurses to kill black folks.

If there was ever such a thing as an “evil corporation,” it’s the Walt Disney Company.

To be honest, it is also paying your salary.  How are you feeling about continuing to work for Disney?  I am in academia so I too am supporting the woke demon with my labors.  I tell myself that what I do is not at all related to wokeness and that all conservatives can’t leave the academy, but it is getting harder and harder to stay.

Were I in a position to quit, I’d do so in a heartbeat. I’m not one of the wealthy executives who can be laid off and decide I’ll just spend a few years paragliding through South America while I find myself. I’m on the low end of the Indigenous American pole of symbolism (ahem), and my field is getting tighter every passing year.

The best I can do right now is break my silence and hope that, maybe, this might help some people reconsider their choices. I wish this company was not doing what it’s doing, but the people in charge believe believe that consumers (many of them conservative-leaning) will continue to throw their money at them no matter how woke and anti-American they become. And so far, they’ve been absolutely correct on that.

You could try looking into the Conservative Migration group here on Ricochet.  It might be just a dream for now, but many places are far less expensive to live, and so not as much of a higher-paying job is required to live in them.

People have been threatening this for decades now, and it hasn’t happened. Twenty-five years ago this year, the Southern Baptist Convention attempted to launch a boycott against Disney as it began showing nudity on ABC, releasing films like Pulp Fiction, and hosting “Gay Days” at its parks. That was 1996. It went nowhere. The message Disney learned? They can do anything. They can be as transgressive as they want. The money will keep rolling in.

Disney already went woke. They didn’t go broke. So why stop now when there’s a fundamental transformation of America to be made?

Now it doesn’t seem like much, but you’re looking back through an Overton window that’s been blown wide open in that last quarter-century. If I’d told you twenty-five years ago Disney would proudly be trumpeting The Simpsons as a Disney-branded product, you’d have thought I’d lost all touch with my senses. But there they are, on Disney+.

And, quite honestly, last year really did feel like Disney’s Powers That Be saw a moment when society began to collapse to grab the social engineering brass ring and run with it: Bob Iger was loosening his grip, Bob Chapek was relatively less domineering as a leader, and a bunch of transplants from Fox felt empowered to let their red flags fly now that they weren’t under Rupert Murdoch. The civil unrest just gave them the reason to throw their “All Racism, All the Time!” agenda into action.

I have wondered the same thing. I don’t think many people would mind -and would even welcome- a balancing of spotlight in history on neglected minority figures that could be held up to all children/adults as beacons of serious committment, achievement, etc. Those who invented, discovered, fought as patriots, and genuinely contributed too often from the shadows of negleted acclaim. Nor would most of us mind a period for their struggle to be highlighted. But this business of fake history, tearing down anyone not in an approved group according to skin color, etc. is seriously coming from some other hidden sickness. If it hopes to demoralize everyone “not of color,” first of all that’s a tall order that may fail due if nothing else to the enormous amount of information that would have to be erased from books etc. already in existence and by the holes and lapses that would occur to any coherent narrative about how our technology alone came into being, much less other binding threads like law, infrastructure, medicine, etc. But before that, the people under attack and those who want to be part of the future outside of politics will “wake up” to the dishonesty and want no part of it. I hope they will form a visible defensive line somehow but would surely create an “underground” of resistance as well. Is this what happens when a group and its allies actually surrender and give up the faith that they can actually compete? And decides to just tear down of the whole enterprise, claiming something dark and magical is the sole fault of all unmet expectations?

That seems like some social version of clinial depression, combined with the use of force to get everyone in the asylum to play along with the patient population’s fantasy. The staff doesn’t mind for now; it thinks it can spare itself or get out of the asylum on weekends or in time if it starts to burn down. The problem is, in the end patients and staff alike really have no place to go, and the grief they will realize later won’t supply a replacement.

It’s all out there, and has been for a very long time.  I taught high school history and absolutely nothing is not available.  It used to be that you had leeway when you taught…the curriculum was a framework and how you got the the end point was up to you.  Now lessons are mandated and literally scripted and emphasize nothing but the  “marginalized,” “neglected” and “oppressed.”  Howard Zinn on sterioids.

And by night, she was dancing in nightclubs, sometimes on the bar, with married, ladies’ man Mayor Willie Brown buying her drinks. He was exactly twice her age & not exactly attractive. Yep. She slept her way to the top … sometimes till last call at the Top of the Mark at the Mark Hopkins Hotel. So proud of our VP!”
