Please, Just Make it Stop! More Hits from the Idiocracy

See the source imageNow that Major League Baseball has taken the All Star Game away from Atlanta, the next target is the Masters. Keith Olbermann joined the chorus of voices demanding that the PGA remove the Masters from Augusta, GA.

A bag filled with golf clubs is smarter than Mr. Olbermann. There are individuals, like a Halon fire extinguisher, that suck the oxygen out of a room the minute they open their mouths.

There are people in this world that are perpetually aggrieved, filled with outrage, and joyless.

Their lives are so empty the only pleasure they have left is to interfere in the lives of others. God forbid that anyone else might find any joy in watching a golf tournament taking place on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world.

Wisdom from Olbermann:

BOYCOTT THE MASTERS! Baseball moving the All-Star Game out of Atlanta in protest of Georgia Voter Repression opens a path to stopping the racists, with money.

Next? Think it’s a coincidence that a golf tournament in an ex-slave state is named “The Masters?”

Yeah, Olbermann is as dumb and obnoxious as ever. As to the Masters, it is not The Masters if it’s not played at Augusta National. Fortunately, I think the PGA is just about the least likely sports organization to cave to the woke mob.

I already boycott the Masters. Rather, I boycott golf, and have since spending rainy summer afternoons at Grandpa’s house listening to Chris Schenkel and Byron Nelson whisper.

The only thing more boring than golf is Keith Olbermann.

Good Lord, did you have to show the picture of that doofus?

I doubt that the Masters will be removed from Augusta.  I still remember Howell Raines and the New York Times’ crusade against the Augusta Country Club because of the club’s refusal to allow women’s memberships.  If they survived that, they’ll probably survive the latest kerfuffle.

The unique thing about golf is that you compete against the course. The Augusta National Golf Club owns the rights to the Masters name. It is one of the premier events on the PGA tour, and amateur’s that make the cut compete on Saturday and Sunday.

My brother Don was part of the CBS crew that televised the Masters for around 20 years. He has some good stories about the Masters.

The Masters is televised in about 53 different countries.

I hope so.  I truly do.  A line must be drawn somewhere.

A few years ago, Keith Olbermann was a commentator on NBC Sunday Night Football during half-time.

I have four people who I will turn off the TV when they appear, Keith Olbermann, Al Sharpton, David Duke and Donald Trump.  They are “non-persons” in my book, and I refuse to listen to them or to grant them personhood.  If I am in someone else’s home, I will simply say that if they are unwilling to turn off the TV, I will leave the room as long as they are on the TV.  Sometimes the TV would be turned off, sometimes I would leave the room.  But if the TV remained on, I left.

Often on Sundays I would turn off the TV during Sunday Night Football halftime, and a couple of hours later would realize that I had missed the rest of the game.  Thankfully, NBC finally took him off the TV.

Now that Amazon, et al., have established that they won’t do business with governments who they say are violating the people’s rights, and they don’t care what the impact to their bottom line will be, when are they going to stop doing business with China?

Olbermann, when he showed up on an event I was watching, always reminded me of a very spoiled 4-year-old — always making faces and screaming for attention. I don’t recall that he ever had anything interesting to say.

Hey, Augusta is on the Savannah River forming the border with South Carolina. Have the mayor of Augusta and the mayor of Aiken SC across the river issue a joint proclamation that during Masters’ week Augusta is an honorary city of South Carolina and on election day Aiken is an honorary city of Georgia. Problem solved.

I like to emphasize that anyone that opposes the bill opposes the protection of voters from being harassed and intimidated while in line to vote.  There was a time in the South that Dems would put on hoods and threaten those showing up to vote.  This law prohibits people from doing that.

These days it’s Black Panthers etc, standing in front of voting places holding pieces of metal pipe.

But that’s just “free speech” or something.

I graduated from the very same college, and at nearly the same time. I remember seeing Keith – he lived in the same dorm as many of my friends. More than that, though, I remember hearing him, on the campus radio station. He was good. At talking. About sports.

I haven’t paid any attention at all to him since, although I was told that shortly after Saddam Hussein’s sons were killed, he announced, “Uday and Qusay are eadday.” That’s a great line. Resorting to pig Latin in a time of national crisis takes real flair. After hitting such lyric heights, reading drafts of state laws may be too much bother.

There are two Charlottesville stories.  The false one from the Democrats is that Trump equated the Alt Right marchers with progressives.  The correct one is that Trump showed incredible insensitivity, and acted as a racialist.  When I mention Charlottesville, I mean the second scenario, not the first one.  However it appears that many of my fellow Ricochetti think that I am talking about the first scenario.
