Poor Mrs. Weiner

To discover that your husband is a perverted e-philanderer just after having learned that you’re expecting — now that is a most unenviable position in which to find yourself.

Ms. Abedin, 35, is in the early stages of pregnancy, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.

The pregnancy, which the couple has disclosed to close friends and family, adds a new dimension to questions about the future of their marriage.

My condolences to Huma Abedin.  This news makes the Weiner scandal less funny, and all the more tragic.

    From Maureen Dowd:

In five decades, we’ve moved from the pre-feminist mantra about the sexual peccadilloes of married men — Boys will be boys — to post-feminist resignation: Men are dogs. And there’s no point in feminists wasting their ire at women being objectified because many women these days seem all too ready to play along.”

Such a sad observation……with a great deal of truth behind it. But I would blame radical feminism for making women act against their nature & convincing themselves that women can only be on an equal footing with men if they lower themselves to the basest behaviors imaginable. When women uphold their own standards of behavior, men will follow. (RIght? Please convince me that I’m right.)

Truer words were ne’er spoken. Well, at least if you or MoDo had spoken them. Hacked you a bit there. I don’t know what a feminist is any more, and would wager most women don’t either. And those that do, each have a different definition.

It is certainly an unenviable position, but like her boss, she has a brighter political future than her husband.

It is disturbing that she now knows she could have done better. On the other hand, she wouldn’t have given that loser the time of day if he weren’t a member of Congress.

Oh, a new word “e-pervert”. Most of the time it could read (H)e-pervert, I’m sure. I have a question though, about the women involved, it seems everytime there is a story about a Congress(man) like this the women involved come out of the woodwork very ready to talk about how awful a person they’ve been cooresponding with when they should be looking in the mirror. I am reasonably sure that each of them knew he was a married man. Where are their morals?

Take note that Weiner began his social network escapades in September ’10, one month after he was married.

I have zero sympathy for her. She’s a leftist opportunist who long ago decided to hitch her wagon to one Democrat star or another.

Bad hitch, baby. Live with it.

Taking a wrecking ball to the innocents around you–sort of a metaphor for the entire progressive project, now that I think of it.

    Very sad.

I think we’re using the term “perverted” a bit loosely. He seems to have rather conventional tastes. “Oversexed” may be more appropriate, or perhaps “horndogging”.

But, um, yeah. This, this, is just not good. I don’t quite get the irresistable charm of Anthony Weiner. It eludes me. But it clearly exists. May have to revise the plan to keep Weiner around for tactical and tormenting purposes. Just resign, please. Better that way.

I’m sure Mrs. Weiner is a good leftist, like her husband. The tragedy is not just that her husband is a pervert, but just as bad, he is a man of such dishonest, low character, immaturity, arrogance and poor judgment and the father of her child. I may disagree entirely with her politics, but I still feel very sorry for her. At least she and Hillary can commiserate.

I may a feel a twinge for the wife of Weiner, but I won’t stop making jokes. Maybe he has some hidden charm that somehow eluded me, but she married the dude. She can dump him if she wants. It’s not like democrats (or anybody else) looks down on single mothers these days.

Take him to the cleaners, Huma. I hear Maria (Shriver) Schwarzenegger knows a good divorce lawyer.

For all of the comedy the Weiner story is generating, it really is a Shakespearean tragedy.

Well, perverted is a “loose” word.

But “oversexed” seems inadequate. I’m friends with oversexed guys. I married one. Most of them would’ve found tweeting your frankly uninspiring briefs to a stranger when you’ve already got a gal pretty pervy.

After all, I’m not sure being a pervert is just a matter of unconventional tastes, as you can have unconventional tastes and not be a pervert, so long as you behave yourself.

“Horndogging” at least has the right ring to it…

He ain’t nuthin’ but a horndog, tweetin’ all the time? · Jun 8 at 9:46pm

Yes. As a matter of fact, since my blushing bride, Rubber Duckie, has contended for 30-something years with an OG, isn’t it generally true that the term “oversexed guy” is the veritable definition of redundancy?

Call me whatever, but I just can’t believe this woman isn’t aware, on some level, of what her husband has been doing. How could it escape her radar if she knows him at all? As one of the young women he interacted with said, he has real impulse control issues. That’s not something you can hide. It’s probably why he rages at everything. I suspect that the really interesting facet of this story is not Weiner himself, but the marriage.

Mrs. Weiner (Not to be confused with Mrs. Potato Head) walked into a political marriage with her eyes open. I feel sorry for the kid. Imagine living with that legacy.

I’m thinking “Asses are made to bear, and so are you” (from The Taming of the Shrew) would be more appropriate.

Oh, come now. How did such beautiful woman come to be married to such a pencil necked pervert? Zero pity. She deserves all the mockery she gets. Does anyone doubt that he wooed her using the exact same methods? That’s where the humor comes in. What goes on between them is their business, but the guy has his modus operandi and she seems to have enjoyed the behavior from him enough to marry him. That makes her an equal target of the scorn and ridicule.

Comepletely agree. Its being reported that she had a bevy of high powered and handsome suitors before she met the Congressman. I wonder if she fell into the trap that many type A and ambitious women fall into, namely they focus on their career and ignore good catches during their 20’s. Once they hit 30 the biological clock hits and they look around realizing that many of those good men they ignored are taken and they are no longer in the flower of their youth. Sure they are still attractive but now are competing with younger women.

I’m scandalized that he considers himself a flirt. Un’infammia to flirts everywhere. Then again, Kirsten Powers is his ex-girlfriend, which just makes me want to hang it up and quit. There is no justice.
