Remember Back When They Said We Were Overreacting?

When they wanted to allow closeted homosexuals in the military, we said, “Soon they’ll be wanting to force us to recognize homosexual marriages, they’ll force us to treat every perversion as normal, and then your daughter or wife will have perverts wanting to use the same bathroom as them.”

I remember those days; oh, how they mocked us. They said we were absurd, ridiculous, a bunch of secret pedophiles ourselves, worrying about imaginary stuff that no one would ever, ever, ever want to inflict on us.

Yeah. I remember. Funny, huh? There is not a hint of a smile on my face.

Just this evening at dinner, my 14-year-old daughter told me that acquaintances (distant, she says) from school are saying that it’s a hate crime to refuse to date a transgender person. Such people are called “super straight” and some, being stupid kids, were recommending draconian punishments for super straights, including the death penalty. Kids are stupid. Progressive politicians have no minority status to excuse them.

Joe Biden, automaton for the progressive movement (which doesn’t excuse his complicity) has issued an executive order requiring schools to allow men who identify as women to use girls’ restrooms.

As soon as I’m done writing this, I’ll be sending a letter to Governor Abbot and my state representative and Senator to pass a law forbidding this. Executive orders do not equal law, and we need to stop this. I will not allow my daughter to attend a school that would do such a thing.

I try to be a nice guy, especially when dealing with the mentally ill, but every encounter (when I worked in retail) I have ever had with a tranny began with me stifling a laugh, and the urge to say, “You know you’re not fooling anyone, right?”

And if you call yourself a tranny in good standing, and yet you haven’t had one added or had one chopped off, well neighbor, you’re just playing dress up.

I’m curious as to which version of the Commerce Clause empowers a federal official to interfere in a school district’s bathroom assignments.

At the end of what I laughingly call “my career”, I worked with a male-to-female transsexual. Actually, he/she funded a lot of the work I was doing. We never talked about the transition, though I knew him before. It wasn’t relevant to me. I did hear that one if his sons was in therapy and another refused to speak to him after the operation. I always thought that if someone was so f***ed up that “gender reassignment” was necessary, piling on was in bad taste.

Evidence suggests that “gender reassignment” is never really “necessary,” and even those who get it, usually aren’t “cured” by it.  That’s why the suicide rates for those who “transition” is still very high.

The main thing is, no man or woman can really think they should be the other gender, because they have no idea what it feels like to be the other.  All they know is that they don’t feel “right” and becoming “the other” seems like the only option.  But that’s not likely to help because that wasn’t really the problem to start with.  And if anything, “transitioning” might easily make it worse, especially if they still don’t feel “right” which could easily be why the suicides continue.

Well it may not be so much “thinking” but if someone doesn’t feel “right” being either male or female as they are now, then given that those are basically the two available options, it may not be a big surprise that the first option to come up is “I’ll try being the other.”

Really though, they mostly need help, psychiatric and perhaps medication too.

And a new story today, on MyNorthwest.com.  Male prisoners claiming to be women, to transfer prisons.  All you have to do is say that you “identify as female” to be transferred.  This is horrifying.

On the other hand, once the word gets out, might it prevent some women from committing crimes?

Because this worked out so well in NC that it got us the idiot we have now the Governor’s mansion. Our legislature, back during Obummer, was trying to get ahead of this crap and introduced what was dubbed by the “bathroom bill”. The outside forces that came down on this state were overwhelming. It was passed originally only to be repealed later. I’m at a loss as to what to do. Maybe Texas will fair better than NC. We are probably a lot closer to blue than you are.

We would love equal treatment with Trannies and Homosexuals.

Militant Tranny  or Homosexual?  You are protected at work, at the store, on Twitter.

Militant Conservative?  You get fired,  can be refused services , and get deplatformed.

I agree with all that, but don’t expect the outside pushback to be any less. Just take our go at it as what/how not to do it and come up with something better. I knew from the start they were asking for trouble the way it was done.

I was assured on these very pages that slippery slopes are a myth.

I was watching a documentary last night about an archeological dig and noticed how easily remains were identified as male or female. It’s almost as if all of that goes deeper than feelings, hormones and genitals.

Interesting post. I just read “The Madness Of Crowds”. It points out some of the problems with the treatment of the related issues of homosexuality, feminism, race, and trans in our current cancel culture.

Here is my blog on the book, which also points to a review, so between the two you can get a sense of it.

A bank teller in my town dressed like a woman before COVID closed that bank. I saw another tranny driving by the other day.

I don’t hate crossdressers and won’t ostracize them. But I also won’t pretend I can ignore the lie while I’m there looking at it. If someone dressed as a clown or werewolf in public, you wouldn’t pretend it’s unremarkable. An insane person is still a beloved creature of God. That demands attention and care, not indulgence of a madman’s fantasies.

Modern conservatives are too accomodating. Honoring free will does not require silence about others’ choices nor tolerance of every obscenity. Indifference is contrary to Christian love. Love is interested. Love is honest. “To each his own” is the sort of libertine insularity that brought our culture to such absurdities.

If someone did in fact say something like that, they didn’t understand the reason slippery slope arguments are a problem. It’s not that they don’t exist, it’s that if they exist, they aren’t a direct argument against the proposal being debated.

It’s one thing to say the consequences of allowing a reasonable thing to happen will be so awful that we can’t allow the otherwise reasonable thing to happen, but people rarely attempt to make that argument. Usually, the slippery slope is evoked in at attempt to show that the thing in question is intrinsically bad.

Skyler, I find it curious that you seem to be on both sides of this issue.

Personally, I find it rude — and also deceptive — for a man to pretend to be a woman, or vice versa.
