Arizonans Are Revolting

Filling the restaurants and small venues in the beautiful outdoor weather. While Lord Governor Ducey talked out both sides of his mouth*, desperately trying to split the difference between Abbott/Desantis and Cuomo/Newsom, the bikers rolled back into downtown Mesa for bike night without permission or Mesa city hall control. Live music from an earlier rebellious era filled Main Street, punctuated by the sound of more Harleys rolling in. It was the sound of freedom.

Beyond the biker crowd, people jammed into every surviving eatery and watering hole, including new ones optimistically opened by small, true entrepreneurs. For the first time in nearly a year, you had to search for parking on a Friday night.

No fate. We can win. Fight.

Washingtonians certainly are not and will not. Everyone indoors dutifully wears their mask and you see people wearing masks while riding their bikes outdoors. I estimate 99% compliance.  I see no sign that our dictator will be loosening his absolute control anytime soon.

The local evening news made a hash of trying to explain Ducey’s EO today lifting capacity limits. The way I understand it is physical distances are still required. There was some other stuff too, but there are too many whereas’s in the EO for my brain to grasp.

    Go Mesa!

    Cheers Arizonans, give’em hell.

Still, all I could thing of from the title was a line from “Chicken Run” about the chickens revolting:

I’m still glad I got out of Arizona last year.

My youngest brother informed me recently that on a recent visit to a restaurant in Oregon, he was told that they require wearing masks at all times, including between individual bites and sips. He left.

In California, our dyslexic governor is now urging double masks.

Let’s double down on stupidity says the special needs governor

I don’t blame them, as the substance past the self serving whereas’ is close to double talk, posterior protection as he loses cover from other Republican governors.

Yeah, they’re still around. The newest flavor is Lucky Charms. Sounds yucky to me, not lucky. I don’t care for their ice cream.

Yes, the pandemic has been a revelation of men (and women) “with chests” and those without — regardless of party.

Thanks for the info on Arizona.  Even though our Governor (Mike DeWine) has had a few stumbles, I’m liking him more and more every day; especially after reading about the Doug Ducey situation.

Our governor (South Carolina) just lifted the mask mandate for government workers and restaurants.  It will be interesting to see if our city council (Aiken) rescinds it’s mask ordinance . . .

The lockdown has been excessive here in New Mexico, but I passed by a strip mall a few weeks ago and saw a new Nestle Toll House Cafe had moved in. I can’t remember what had been there before, but someone is willing to give it a go. Things are slowly reopening.

Good point.  However, fine people can be fooled . . .

Update:  Or uninformed if they depend on the MSM for news . . .
