El Rushbo Is Gone

Rush Limbaugh has left this Earth.

Limbaugh is considered one of the most influential media figures in American history and has played a consequential role in conservative politics since “The Rush Limbaugh Show” began in 1988. Perched behind his Golden EIB (Excellence in Broadcasting) Microphone, Limbaugh spent ov

er three decades as arguably both the most beloved and polarizing person in American media.

I keep seeing the image of Rush receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from First Lady Melania Trump.  A treasurable image, and consoling.  Never has this very beautiful woman’s extraordinary beauty been put to more graceful use than in conveying somehow our feelings toward this hero.

It should be said that this moment, when we could see our own gratitude expressed, was a gift from President Trump.  I’m not sure another politician would have dared.

If you drop by RushBabe49.com, I did three separate posts about Rush today. I think I have gone through a whole box of tissues.

Share each link here please. I put the first one in the comments already.

    I’m sorry. Be strong RB.

I am planning at least one more for later today, and when it is up I will link in this comment.

One question for @julespa, though.  Is it kosher to link to a Member Feed post, on the Main Feed?  I haven’t done it over at my blog, because the Member Feed posts are behind the paywall.

I don’t know any rules about linking things. I’ll leave that to TPTB.

I suppose someone not a member would click it, and get a behind the paywall notice.  Or even be enticed to join so they could read them.

If it came down to it, I’d request it go back to member feed.

I was trying to create an “archive.”

When I saw the notice of Rush’s passing, I came on Ricochet and looked, but there were no posts. I was surprised, so I created one.

To me, this post is like Ricochet going to Rush’s headquarters, and leaving flowers and cards.

Nothing wrong with linking to member feed posts from a promoted post. Non-members will just be shown a “this is a members-only post” message with a link to become a member.

And some of them actually make it into Rush’s newsletter … https://ricochet.com/887657/rush-limbaugh-marconis-titan/comment-page-3/#comment-5251181

James Golden a.k.a. Bo Snerdley appeared on Hannity’s show and gave a heartfelt tribute to Rush. This article has the video for that appearance and also a couple of Golden’s tweets in the body of the article:

Also, there are a couple more political cartoon tributes to Rush on National Review . com:

I like this tribute to Rush for our collection.

    https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1362095108556996615.html

“We all lost a great friend in Rush Limbaugh today, but he showed us how many friends we really have, across this nation and many others. We are one less, but because of him, we will never again fear we are alone. One voice is stilled, but there will never again be silence.”
