Killer Cuomo Lied, Chief Minion Blames Trump, DOJ Family Business
Now it is apparently safe for New York Democrats to call out Killer Coumo. His top aide confessed to New York Democrat state legislative leaders that Cuomo’s team lied to them about the true number of old people he killed. The false excuse was that Orange Man Bad made them do it. The Democrats, with the truth and the cover-up now out in public, are making noises about ending the “emergency” and Cuomo’s dictatorial rule.
Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa admits they hid nursing home data so feds wouldn’t find out
The stunning admission of a coverup was made by secretary to the governor Melissa DeRosa during a video conference call with state Democratic leaders in which she said the Cuomo administration had rebuffed a legislative request for the tally in August because “right around the same time, [then-President Donald Trump] turns this into a giant political football,” according to an audio recording of the two-hour-plus meeting.
“He starts tweeting that we killed everyone in nursing homes,” DeRosa said. “He starts going after [New Jersey Gov. Phil] Murphy, starts going after [California Gov. Gavin] Newsom, starts going after [Michigan Gov.] Gretchen Whitmer.”
In addition to attacking Cuomo’s fellow Democratic governors, DeRosa said, Trump “directs the Department of Justice to do an investigation into us.”
Of course, the political football game was started and sustained by the Democrats, the Deep State, and their media wing. We all know this. We all also know that the DOJ had a statutory obligation to protect those in institutional care, a duty that President Trump had to order them to fulfill, a duty they actually then willfully failed to diligently perform. You may be absolutely certain that the DOJ will continue the cover-up, because the top federal prosecutor in the area is the mother-in-law of Cuomo’s chief minion.
If the Department of Justice investigates the Cuomo Administration’s refusal to turn over data on nursing home deaths, a huge conflict would arise if the case were handed to the powerful Manhattan federal prosecutor.
That’s because Audrey Strauss, the US Attorney for the Southern District, is the mother-in-law of top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa, the figure at the center of the emerging scandal.
Nothing to see here. This is just normal politics.

The timing is interesting, why now? Why are Democrats exposing Cuomo?
Cuomo exposed himself, so to speak, and it was so bad they have to strike a shocked pose, at least. I do not know what is going on with the state AG.
Exactly. I guess we didn’t know the extent of this but the fundamentals were known months ago. I live in NY. The nursing home deaths were widely known. Even Trump commented on it. That’s why they hid, because Trump was making an issue of it. So they went into coverup mode. The media gave him a pass. But I was already calling him “Kill-Your-Grandma Cuomo”. I think I was calling him that before the summer. It’s only after a slip of the tongue did this fully come out. Reporters knew about it.
When I heard her statement, my jaw dropped. I’ll be surprised if she keeps her job . . .
Look at the timing. This became an “official” media story with the release of the report by NY AG Letitia James on January 28.
This is eight days after Biden became President, thus the story (which we all knew about back in May 2020) could no longer be seen as helping Trump.
Once they got past Trump, this all became about intra-party NY Democratic politics. As horrible a person as Andrew Cuomo is he is also, by NY Dem standards a moderate. James is on the far left of the NY Dems and a black women. This is part of an effort to take out Cuomo, who has already announced he will run for re-election in 2022. The NY Times has now become harshly critical of Cuomo in an effort to make sure James or some other certified Woke progressive is the gubernatorial candidate in 2022. Neither James nor the Times actually cares about those who died in the nursing homes other than as a wedge issue to topple Cuomo.
Excellent point. AND. The DOJ and HHS knew or could have known the full truth, including the cover-up, before the election, when the American people could have weighed the parties and the candidates against actually performance. We could have had an informed electorate, to which everyone, left to right, pays lip service.

Seriously? Who will admit that this is a surprise. Who thought Cuomo wasn’t doing this from the beginning?
Will she ever get another job in politics? Probably not.
Why not? The person who sent her own mother to safety while ordering similar nursing home orders in Pennsylvania got a job with the Biden administration out of the deal.
Unreal. Maybe but Cuomo is very vindictive. He’s not going to let her skate off this.
