Cuomo Receives Special Emmy for Nursing Home Cover Up

Having become the first politician to receive Emmy’s coveted Founders Award for his 111 press briefings in 2020, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will receive a second Emmy for his role as a tough-as-nails Democrat of immense probity who in reality was covering up the fatal consequences of his decision to send Covid-positive patients to recover in upstate nursing homes.

On March 2, Cuomo conducted a media briefing from Manhattan to delude New Yorkers and the public at large about the coronavirus outbreak that was just starting to be recognized as a massive public health threat. The 110 briefings that followed would be aired on CNN, MSNBC, and other fake news outlets.

Cuomo’s lies, angry deflections, and refusal to take any responsibility for policy mistakes have reinforced his image as the kind of governor New Yorkers deserve. Cuomo is especially popular in the state’s urban areas: on Thursday approximately 10,000 people gathered in Central Park chanting “Thank you sir, may I have another” while supporters in Buffalo marched downtown carrying banners that read “Cuomo-Spitzer 2024.”

At press time, the Pulitzer Prize Board was hastily creating a special award for Cuomo’s book American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic.

A book. The knucklehead wrote a book. On leadership.

Next up: Gen. George Armstrong Custer’s long-lost treatise on cavalry tactics.

Actually he should write a book on getting good press.

As I’ve pointed out before, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is abbreviated NATAS. Now read that backwards…

This is easily the biggest scandal of the Trump Era.  He deserves everything that is coming to him.

That he had. And still has in some quarters. But his wife is no longer alive to intimidate anyone who dares to sully his reputation.

We live in the NY area and watched every Cuomo and Murphy (NJ) press conference. Murphy is just a lightweight.   Cuomo is a piece of work.   The ego and self importance drips from every word.   And, like most egotistical jerks, he is vindictive and quick to anger.    Early on … April if I recall, he started getting questions about the nursing home deaths.   He got very angry.  Blamed the Federal guidelines.   That was patently false.   Then instructed the Health Department to change the way they calculated nursing home deaths.   Unlike every other state, and contrary to how they had been doing it up until Then, in May they only counted nursing home deaths as people who actually died AT the nursing home.   If you were critically ill at the nursing facility, they called EMS, and you died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital…you weren’t in the nursing home death number.    And after the book came out, in interviews he bragged how low NYs nursing home deaths were compared to everywhere else.  Bragged.   All the while knowing he had rigged the numbers.     He is the lowest of the low.

Just goes to show you how arrogant one can become knowing the press will always back you. TJ Ducklo is learning the same lesson.

Speaking of rigged numbers, how did the election turn out?

BTW- that is his excuse- Orangeman made him do it. He had to hide the truth b/c otherwise Trump might benefit from it. Of course, that is the Democratic party’s problem with the truth- if they happen to stumble over it, they just get up and walk on as if nothing happened.

I’m looking forward to Cuomo’s Oscar nomination for his portrayal of a prison convict who enjoys joking back and forth with his brother through the glass on visitation days.

Surely they read the wrong name and it’s really Newsom who won (remember the Oscars?) . . .
