Overton Window: You Should Wear 4 Masks
On February 27, 2020, CDC Director Robert Redfield was asked at a hearing Capitol Hill whether healthy people should wear a face covering. His answer? “No.”
Two days later, U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams went full Trump – never go full Trump – and tweeted “STOP BUYING MASKS!”, claiming they are “NOT effective in preventing (the) general public from catching coronavirus.”
On March 8, the government’s leading expert on infectious diseases, the un-fireable Anthony Fauci said “there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask”.
Good times.
Fast-forward to the more recent past. According to the New York Times, science-savvy political elites (read: elected officials in good standing with the New York Times) are donning not one but two masks. Dr. Monica Gandhi, quoted in the article, grudgingly concedes that “Americans will not need to be wearing masks forever,” seemingly more in sorrow than in anger.
Not content to frame the debate between wearing one mask or two, Canada’s Global News asks breathlessly “Double masking or 3-layer mask with filters? Experts weigh in as COVID-19 variants spread”.
The debate over the utility of wearing a mask became a debate over the advisability of wearing one mask or two; that debate has now become whether to wear two masks or a 3-layer mask with a filter.
All of these debates miss the fundamental truth, which is this: if you’re wearing fewer than four masks, you’re killing grandma. You heard me right: it’s every citizen’s duty to up his hygiene game, avoid visiting the elderly at all costs, social distance to the tune of 10-to-20 feet, and wear no fewer than four masks.
Does this mean getting the nation on war footing to mass-produce masks for every man, woman, and child in America? Yes, it does. It also means new educational subsidies to teach young children how to wear a mask – four masks – and like it. Sure, you could wait for Big Pharma to save the day, but the last I heard is that Pfizer’s second injection is being administered in patients’ third shoulder.
Finally, kudos are in order here to China: between its aggressive mask mandates and welding World Health Organization officials into their fully-stocked luxury suites, it’s good to know that at least one nation is taking this virus seriously.

When the two mask thing came out I made a few posts on sico media asking why stop at two? Why not three or four? I was surprised at the amount of hate I got for indicating that double masking was stupid. A couple were all in on three or four masks, even indicated they thought they would wear a hazmat suit if they could afford one. I pointed out that Hazmat Suits go for about $40 on Amazon and since they could not afford one we could start a gofundme or FaceBook Fund Raiser. I have now been kicked out of the group, blocked on some people’s FaceBook and placed in FaceBook jail for a few days for some reason or other. This is my old high school class celebrating our 40 year reunion. I suspect I am no longer on the guest list.

This past week alone, Fauci has flipped, then flopped, then flipped again on Double-Masking.
Can’t keep his story straight. Of course, last spring he was saying not to wear masks at all. Then he said he lied about that. Then he told us what level of herd immunity we needed. Then he said he lied about that, too. The man lies all the time, admits he lies, and somehow manages to continue drawing the biggest paycheck of any federal employee. He should have been fired the moment he admitted his first lie.
Given that Fauci actually bears responsibility for this virus, I have to ask two questions: 1) why is anyone listening to him, and 2) why has he not been dragged off stage and been forced to explain his role in the development of COVID-19 and the millions of deaths around the world that he caused?
Because his allies are in power, and he will never be fired or bear any consequences for his behavior. I predict that he will die in office, never retire or draw his million-dollar pension. One thing might change that. The Bidenist Purges might just claim him.
How would that happen?
The Dutch are rioting in response to their CORONA related restrictions, in particular curfews. I wonder how much longer people will tolerate the mask nonsense.

And today at Marktkauf, in Augsburg, I saw all kinds of violations of our “Maskenpflicht” (we’re supposed to wear a specific KIND of mask in shops now…no sh…er…kidding).
Purges are very common in authoritarian societies. The “in group” can become the “out group” in a heartbeat, and that applies to government functionaries too. If the dictator(s) suddenly decide that you are an enemy, for whatever reason, you go straight to prison or the gallows. Everyone in that type of government must constantly watch his back, and no one trusts anyone else. With good reason.
Yeah, but Fauci? That would be like purging Hitler!

I’m reminded of the “razor Wars,” when the makers of disposable razors starting adding blades. There was even an SNL skit about a new razor that had umpteen blades – the guy could barely hold it up.

I have to admit, I recently moved to a five-blade razor, and I wish I’d done it sooner. They’re awesome.
As someone who has trouble breathing through one mask, I understand that they want me to wear enough masks for me to suffocate and die. They have told me I’m useless to society, and that my existence not only takes up resources but also is a lethal threat to others, so it is apparent that their goal is for me either to kill myself or to die.
I sometimes wonder if that wasn’t Fauci’s goal from the start: to “reduce the surplus population.” Is he, perhaps, a neo-Malthusian or disciple of Ehrlich?
I’m using a Wilkinson’s Sword quattro instead of my old duals which I stuck with for decades. Like you, I wish I’d switched earlier. The difference is amazing.
Lamentably this seems not only possible but probable. God save the United States.
I’m not prepared to assign that much malevolence to Dr. Fauci. But I do assign to him that ALL he cares about is Covid statistics. He has said that if his remedies for Covid happen to cause a bunch of death and other damage due to other causes, that’s just an unfortunate outcome, no matter how many people are impacted by those other deaths and damage. Forty million people in poor mental health is to him an acceptable trade-off for a few fewer Covid deaths.
I have to agree. I’ve used Harry’s Shave for quite a while now. I still have a few disposable twin blades handy in case I mess up and forget to order new blades . . .

The thing that gets me about masks is this. Virus have been around since before man walked the earth. They have been a plague on mankind as long as there has been civilization. There around 190+ countries on earth. Each with at least one, maybe more departments dedicated to the health of its citizens. So how do we get to this point and know as littles as we do about how viruses work and how to combat them? How did something as simple as a mask be determined to be silly at first but now need to doubled masked and worn at all times? What did these agencies do with all the time and money up to this point?
