‘War is Peace’: BLM Nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize

Well, this is interesting. Black Lives Matter has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. I didn’t see that coming, but again, I’ve not picked up my copy of George Orwell’s 1984 lately. The movie, starring the late John Hurt as Winston Smith, and Richard Burton as the evil antagonist O’Brien, is dark but increasingly relevant today.

I must tread carefully here, in these politically correct times. But I shall do so, factually. Facts are, after all, stubborn things. That’s what John Adams said.

The Black Lives Matter organization and its comrades at Antifa and related anarchist organizations were responsible for over 500 violent “incidents” (read: riots) in over 200 American cities and towns this past summer.

One of the chief fundraisers for BLM is one Susan Rosenberg. She was one of two “Weather Underground” terrorists who placed a bomb outside the US Senate chamber one November afternoon in 1983. Fortunately, the bomb detonated after the Senate had adjourned that evening, harming no person. But the property damage was extensive.

A violent act in the Capitol. Where have we heard that before?

Oh, and Susan Rosenberg was pardoned for her crime by President Bill Clinton.

This is just a “nomination.” But not just anyone can nominate someone for a Nobel Prize, especially its increasingly-discredited “Peace Prize.” After all, Barack Obama was chosen in 2009 just nine months after taking office because he was elected without having to actually do anything. A few hundred drone strikes later, the bloom was off that rose.

But I’ve never seen an organization that overtly practices and legitimizes violence being nominated for a “peace prize.” Well, except the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Yassar Arafat. Truly, George Orwell’s 1984 predictions have come true, about 37 years late: War is peace.

If this is someone’s idea of “peace,” I’ll choose another vocabulary, thank you very much. Winston, call your office.

That solidifies the ruin of the famous Nobel Peace Prize. Giving it to Obama before he did anything was bad enough. The Europeans are getting more bananas by the day.  Without Trump watching their backs, they better get real.

It is rather disturbing how often Babylon Bee satires become actual news.

REMINDER: The nomination process for the Nobel Peace Prize is ridiculously easy.  All you need is one single, solitary professor in “the social sciences”, from any college or university in the world, regardless of that school’s quality, to send a letter to the Nobel committee.  Simply being nominated means absolutely nothing whatsoever.

But it gets people talking about you, doesn’t it?

This is hardly surprising.  It takes two minutes to read the BLM manifesto to see that these guys are agitators, but our media and educational institutions are either too lazy or too dishonest to call them out on it.

Maybe it’s a “Mostly Peace” Prize.

In this case the nominator is Petter Eide, an MP and member of the Norwegian Socialist Left Party. The party describes itself as democratic socialist, but this endorsement of a gang of Marxist revolutionary thugs shows (again) what “democratic socialists” really are. (Norwegian politics is dominated by the “democratic” socialists and outright Stalinists and Maoists.)

To be fair, the PLO shared that Nobel Prize with Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres in the hopes of bringing about a Middle East peace. This is whole nother level of insanity.

The first Nobel Peace Prize was given to the Vikings after their mostly peaceful protest at Lindisfarne in 793.

I’m glad he got the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Obama’s win and BLM’s nomination has sucked all the merit out of the Nobel.

The last time self-restraint was exercised by the committee was in 1998 when they thankfully did not award it to Gerry Adams and instead just to David Trimble and John Hume. It’s been downhill since then.
