Abortion: The Only Sacrament Joe Biden Takes Seriously

Joe Biden is all in on increasing access to abortion – anywhere, anytime – not only here in the USA, but also worldwide. He issued this disgusting statement Friday:

Today marks the 48th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Roe v. Wade.

In the past four years, reproductive health, including the right to choose, has been under relentless and extreme attack. We are deeply committed to making sure everyone has access to care – including reproductive health care – regardless of income, race, zip code, health insurance status, or immigration status.

The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to codifying Roe v. Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe. We are also committed to ensuring that we work to eliminate maternal and infant health disparities, increase access to contraception, and support families economically so that all parents can raise their families with dignity. This commitment extends to our critical work on health outcomes around the world.

As the Biden-Harris Administration begins in this critical moment, now is the time to rededicate ourselves to ensuring that all individuals have access to the health care they need.

But remember, Joe is a “devout” Catholic.

And the Cardinal Archbishop of Washington DC is complicit in this farce because he willingly gives Joe Holy Communion. Scandal upon scandal.

I am sick and tired of reading about what a decent man Joe Biden is.

Why people still want the label when they clearly want nothing to do with the faith is beyond me.

I like the post, but I think that you’re quite incorrect in claiming that abortion is the only sacrament that Biden takes seriously.

He certainly appears to take sodomy seriously. And castration and mastectomy.

You have to love the gelatinous language the left always uses when it talks about abortion.

“Right to choose.” Right to choose what, exactly? A nasal decongestant? An iced frappuccino? A pair of heels?

I note this is the Biden-Harris administration. I don’t recall this language being commonly used by other presidents.

Joe Biden signed the pledge provided by the Ad Hoc Committee in Defense of Life to support an amendment to reverse Roe v. Wade

In 1988, when he (and Al Gore and Dick Gephardt) realized that no pro-lifer could get the Democratic nomination they each discovered having been pro-abortion all along. Biden expressly lied about his past position.

Changing his allegedly deeply held beliefs whenever expedient, lying about having done so, and then attacking those who point out or question his hypocrisy is the only consistent feature of Biden’s political record. The man has never had a moral core.

Yes. When a left-wing woman says, “I’m a believer in the right to choose,” what she really means, half the time, is, “I’m entitled to consequence-free sex.”

I really, really, really don’t understand that. I just don’t get it.

To an outsider (I’m a devout Christian, but not a Catholic), this seems simple. I mean, if he were to deny Mr. Biden Holy Communion, he’s not commenting on his politics or even his ideology. He and Mr. Biden might even be close friends – no problem.

He’s simply pointing out, if he were to deny him Holy Communion, that Mr. Biden does not follow the practices of the Catholic faith. Which is ok – many people do not – for example, most non-Catholics, who are a large majority of the population of the planet earth. All of those people are not evil – they are simply not Catholic. No problem. If Mr. Biden were to choose to become a practicing Catholic at some point in the future, he could then receive Holy Communion. No problem.

I just don’t understand what is motivating the Cardinal Archbishop here. This seems like a very simple matter that he is making way too complicated.

I have Catholic friends and occasionally go to church with them. I can’t receive Holy Communion in a Catholic Church, because I’m a Protestant. Even though my beliefs are very, very, very close to those of the Catholic Church. But Mr. Biden can receive Holy Communion, despite openly and publicly professing anti-Catholic views? Why?

You would think the Pope would be on the phone first thing tomorrow, having a brief but forceful discussion with the Cardinal Archbishop about what it means to be Catholic.

But I wouldn’t hold my breath.

The President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) issued this statement upon Biden’s inauguration. It included these words:

(T)he nation’s bishops are given the duty of proclaiming the Gospel in all its truth and power, in season and out of season, even when that teaching is inconvenient or when the Gospel’s truths run contrary to the directions of the wider society and culture. So, I must point out that our new President has pledged to pursue certain policies that would advance moral evils and threaten human life and dignity, most seriously in the areas of abortion, contraception, marriage, and gender. Of deep concern is the liberty of the Church and the freedom of believers to live according to their consciences.

Prior to the issuance of this statement, the Vatican intervened and told Archbishop Gomez to put this statement on hold until the Pope could offer congratulations to Biden.

The Pope is all in on the woke portion of Joe’s agenda: climate change, immigration, racism, etc., etc.. It is a shame he doesn’t speak up on Joe’s anti-Catholic agenda. And it should be noted, Gregory was hand-picked by Francis – he is the Francis ideal of a bishop.

To offer such politicians Holy Communion is to participate in sacrilege. The Christian’s conscience (which according to Church doctrine is not merely one’s private judgment) and soul are not all that is on the line, though priests have a duty to guard their flock against damnation.

We believe Christ is truly (not symbolically) present, physically and spiritually, in the blessed Eucharist. To offer Eucharist to one who stubbornly and publicly persists in support of such devastating evils is to hand over our Lord to evil.

So precious is the Blessed Sacrament (“the source and summit of the Christian life”) that every tiny crumb and drop must be rescued from accidents. Many ritual elements surround the handling of everything related to Communion to ensure the greatest possible reverence. Nothing is more precious than Christ Himself.

To accept Eucharist in a state of grave moral sin, after persistently encouraging others to similarly sin, is to profane the gift. Bishops have a duty to defend Christ and not only Christ’s flock. Would it honor Jesus or free will to step aside so that mud could be smeared on Christ’s face?

Love must accord with truth. Church teaching is plain: Biden is gravely wrong on abortion and facilitates the killing of innocent children by their own mothers.

This all goes back to 2004 when John Kerry was running for President. Then Cardinal Ratzinger, Prefect of the Congregation of the Faith, issued a letter to the USCCB (the USCCB President at the time was current DC Archbishop Gregory and the then DC Archbishop was Theodore McCarrick) stating that pro-abortion politicians must be denied Holy Communion. McCarrick worked to hold back that letter, stating that the letter included a compromise where Kerry could receive HC. The letter eventually saw the light of day but the table was set and the liberal-progressive (one might say non-Catholic) bishops continue to ignore it.

So much of the scandal in the Church continues to flow back to McCarrick. Scandal upon scandal upon scandal.

I’ve believed for decades that progressive self proclaimed Catholics should have left and created their own “reform” church. They could profess whatever that wanted, have female clerics and endorse any lifestyle that made them happy. But instead they held on with the help of the Lavender mafia until they got a woke pope who routinely defends child molesting prelates. It sickens me, to be completely honest. We now only donate to our own parish; no money to the diocese. But I still feel like I’m on the edge of giving up.

Alexandra DeSanctis has put out a flurry of articles recently, one of which @scottwilmot links to in comment #3. John McCormack provides more examples of Biden’s hypocrisy in this article regarding the possibility of the Democrats attempting to repeal the Hyde Amendment:

““I will continue to abide by the same principle that has guided me throughout my 21 years in the Senate: those of us who are opposed to abortion should not be compelled to pay for them,” Biden wrote to a constituent in 1994. “As you may know, I have consistently — on no fewer than 50 occasions — voted against federal funding of abortions.”

Biden reiterated his support for the “middle-of-the-road” policy in 2008, but under pressure from progressive activists during the most recent Democratic presidential primary, he abandoned his support for the Hyde amendment in June 2019.

This made it clear that Biden would sign a bill killing the Hyde amendment if it made it to his desk, but it remains unclear whether Congress has the votes and the will to pass such a bill.”

So much of the scandal in the Church continues to flow back to McCarrick. Scandal upon scandal upon scandal.

And the Vatican’s final report on McCarrick is opaque nonsense. It accuses Bishop Schneider without even having contacted him with questions, nor contacting several other people with relevant testimony. It’s a cover-up.

The Church will never be broken, but she has certainly been stained and undermined.

I still can’t get over that as Vice President, Joe Biden officiated the “marriage” of two gay men. That should be sent to the Bishops at least once a year as a reminder.

Slightly off-topic, but from the Biden statement this portion below stood out to me.

“The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to codifying Roe v. Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe.”

So, Biden is admitting that support for Roe v. Wade is a “litmus test” for him. We already know that any judge/justice appointed by Biden or Harris (or any other Dem Prez) will be all in on Abortion on Demand, it’s just that they don’t admit it. It’s also interesting in that one of the Dem talking points against the various judges/justices nominated by Trump was that overturning Roe v. Wade was his litmus test.

Certainly not the right to choose whether or not to wear a mask or keep your place open!

I’m not even that pro-life (abortion pre-heartbeat does not bother me) and this creepy worship of abortion is disgusting. It is treated as a holy rite, not a medical procedure. No medical procedure would have:

    • No parental consent for minors. If it is some kind of horrendous child sexual abuse, a judge could intervene, or in an immediate life-threatening emergency two doctors could sign off on it and inform the parents ASAP.
    • No medical restrictions for clinics. They are not treated like outpatient surgical centers.
    • No regulation of abortionists. They do not need be qualified surgeons with admitting privileges.
    • Limited informed consent and pre-operative testing.

This is treated as a higher freedom than the right to bear arms, despite the former not being in the text of the constitution like the latter.
