The Biden Disconnect, or Biden’s Bubble
Maybe it’s his mental capacity, but Biden, even before he took office, seemed to be barely connected to anything outside the prospective Presidency. I have to admit that I am not following him closely, but has anyone heard him address the following to any extent?
- Violence in the streets that continues to this day
- His goals of working with Congress
- His expectations (pro or con) of the upcoming impeachment
- What his plans are to encourage unity
- An appeal to Democrats to stop attacking Republicans
- Why any of his Executive Orders will be good for this country
- Explain to the public how mask mandates are good for the economy
I could go on, but it seems to me that Biden is living in a bubble. Does he actually consult with people to determine the benefits or limitations of his actions? Or do they just make a list for him and have him follow it? Did he just go back to the Obama agenda and dress it up for 2021? Did he decide simply to remove every Executive Order that Trump passed, rather than assess if any of them might be helpful?
More than ever, I think Joe Biden is barely clinging to reality. I don’t think he even knows how seriously limited he is. Certainly, everyone reassures him that he’s doing a good job in initiating actions—their plans—so why should they complain?
The new President just wants to be liked and accepted. Anyone who thinks he will take a stand against the radical Left is misguided. He will do what they tell him with sincerity and commitment. After all, he’s just along for the ride (although he doesn’t know it).
Welcome to the Presidency, Mr. Biden.
Enjoy your bubble.

I figure that as long as there are no lumps in his Cream of Wheat, Joe is as happy as he can be.
That’s about right, Percival. Thanks.
This is the lead story on Fox-violence in the streets of Portland over the inauguration. Nothing I can see on CNN. The only Google result I got for cnn violence inauguration Portland was about the threat from the right wing militia. Only a few stories on alternate sites came up. I don’t say that news organizations can’t choose their leads, but it isn’t covered at all because we know that we only have to fear violence from the right and this is so clearly left they can’t spin it any other way.
So the suppression of news continues and frankly this worries me more than anything else. The MSM continues not to do its job directly leading to further division because we are living in two different realities.
When the MSM allowed him to conduct nearly his entire Presidential campaign from his basement, we shouldn’t expect his Presidency to be a bit different. He may leave the WH for a few photo ops but that will be it…
It is frightening, because they will feel compelled to cover up legitimate problems that could reflect badly on Biden. At least with Trump, we got used to seeing fake news. Now there will be no news for us to judge what is happening.
I am shocked – shocked, I say – to discover that the FBI zigged when they should have zagged.
I read somewhere that his handlers are trying to make sure that his “spontaneous” moments are limited. At least some of those were amusing.
In regards to the Dems attacking Republicans, they would tell you that’s not happening. I’d settle for Republicans not attacking us Deplorables. But as @cowgirl said in a comment yesterday, they never have and never will “get it.” All is well in the country today. You must have missed your daily dose of Soma.
Sort of like a blind man in a minefield…
It’s not Biden who’s in a bubble. It’s those people (allegedly) on the right who assured us that Biden was a moderate who would put a check on the radical left who are in a bubble.
Darn, I knew I forgot something! Now where is that vial . . .
How about just admitting that they’re all in that bubble together, Drew! You make a very good point.
I have to update my comment. I did the same search today and this came up from CNN: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/21/us/portland-ice-building-demonstration/index.html. No mention of Antifa anywhere. But at least they have covered it with their usual spin.
The page isn’t there now. Could it have been deleted?
Same bubble?
It is important to understand that Biden talks in dog whistles. If you know the code words, his inauguration speech make more sense.
Hmmm. The link works for me. But you can Google it. But I just checked msNBC and tried to find a mention of Portland and came up empty. It really is a news bubble.
I understand that the press was removed during the signing ceremony for first day executive orders because Biden became incoherent after signing the third executive order.
Maybe you should start a glossary, @dong, for those of us who can’t keep up!
???? Really ????
Well, gosh, he’d had a long day and probably no nap. Oh, that was nasty . . .
Susan! That’s not like you! Like me – yes. You – no.
BECAME incoherent? He’s BEEN incoherent for quite a while!
I think he realizes. Politicians play dumb on bad projections. He will continue to play dumb until he hits a brick wall, which will be soon, or in other words when the crap hits the fan.
Not to mention stabbing himself in the wrist with his pen.
Playing dumb? I object to the idea that he is playing.
Probably not. However, I don’t believe there will ever be any SNL skits similiar to the ones that Chevy Chase did making fun of Gerald Ford.
I used to sniff markers, when I was a kid.
On a cognitive test, only being able to sign your name 3 times is a “fail”.
Does what is left of the person within the shell of the body we refer to as Joe Biden know what he is doing? Perhaps not, but the problem is the people around him who are really running the show do.
Despite whatever words concerning “unity” passed through the lips of the body we refer to as Joe Biden, his actions yesterday demonstrate he is not promoting unity. By revoking Trump’s EO, Biden and his administration have endorsed the use of racial and gender stereotypes and scapegoating in the federal government and by government contractors and grantees. His nominee to head the Civil Rights Division does not believe the anti-discrimination clauses of the 1964 Civil Rights Act apply to white people (and she thinks blacks are genetically superior to whites). Biden’s top nominees for the Department of Education are adherents to the view that white supremacy must be dismantled. His administration fosters divisiveness and racial strife and his appointees are intolerant, full of rage, greedy and authoritarian. This is the most radical presidency of my lifetime and we are only one day into it.
I’m sorry to say, Mark, that I’m in full agreement. Thanks for commenting.
