In Ireland, Our Version of PBS Went Rogue on Biden/Harris

RTE is our version of the BBC/ PBS. It’s supposed to be an objective TVchannel, which of course it is not. It frequently lies about conservatives, Catholics, prolifers, and any cause to the right of the center, no more so than when it comes to American politics. If you ever come to Ireland and wonder why there is such bewilderment by general Irish people towards Republicans keep in mind this is where the majority of normies get their news from.

RTE News is no exception to this as the primary news output of RTE. They despise Trump and most Republicans. They fawn over Democrats and love to play to the stupid angle: Democrats good Republicans bad. Keep in mind they get their marching orders not from the Irish state but are obsessed with following the bandwagon of liberal outlets. Today RTE has been celebrating Trump’s departure and Biden’s win. They, like all your news outlets, never told the Irish people about the dark side of Biden and all his nefarious slimy actions over the years, instead of focusing on the Irish-American connection. Harris too got a pass on the whole allowing innocent people to stay in jail, focusing instead on her “black” heritage. Keeping that in mind, RTE probably should have looked into who they invited on their show, as you can see from the clip.

RTE invited one James Conner of Republicans Overseas to their inauguration coverage and boy did they mess up. According to another discredited Irish news site “The Journal” James called Joe Biden and Kamala Harris “two frauds” and falsely claimed one was “a bona fide criminal.” James is a Marine, a Trump supporter, and a (bleeping) legend (after this).

Many on the right here are laughing. I’ve been laughing at this. It’s been a bleak day but this was funny. The truth is funny. Some think this was RTE’s attempt to discredit Republicans but I disagree. This was accidentally the truth. Something RTE never has on American politics. It’s not abuse, after all, if it’s true.

Link does not seem to work.  I have a blogger in Ireland whom I follow, and she offered good wishes to America after the inauguration of the new president.  I mentioned to her that my friends and I now have targets painted on our backs.  We are fortunate to have you here, Paddy, thanks!

Worst day in America history. Celebration of the death of everything America holds dear. A funeral ceremony for a successful coup conducted by criminals wth no consequences. Rule of lawlessness is officially in place.

We could name other mileposts that were just as dire, disappointing, and disgusting – in their time. But today was the culmination of … wait a sec, I have to bring in the garbage can, can’t leave it on the street overnight, why do I think of that? … over a century of steady theft, that only now is plain, a direct assault on the idea of the American nation.

Dear lord, what if John Adams was actually right about something …

Do we have enough – patience, fortitude, ammo, food, propane, organization?

It seems like a lot of countries are getting money from us for one thing or another.  Including Mexico.  So those will probably stay quiet.  At least until that money becomes worthless due to inflation etc.

Being sanctioned by the Germans for human rights violations, the highpoint of the Biden regime.

If we’re lucky, the reaction of the American people will be similar to what happened when the elites decided we should all use the metric system:

    “Nah, we’re not doing that.”

The impression I (an American) get when I read European publications is that Europeans just don’t get the “we the people ” distributed power thing that is central to the American government structure. And since American Republicans are more likely than American Democrats to push policies consistent with the original “we the people” distributed power structure of the American government, it does not surprise me that Europeans find American Republican policies hard to relate to.

Keep in mind they get their marching orders not from the Irish state but are obsessed with following the bandwagon of liberal outlets.

Rather than an obsession, there’s another, more basic factor to consider: There are no large-scale, equivalent conservative news outlets for foreign news organizations to follow.  Because they have a long history and are well-known, the NY Times and Washington Post are the go to places for the vast majority of foreign correspondents looking for news on American politics.  (The closest thing that can be considered a large-scale conservative newspaper, the Wall Street Journal, isn’t consistently conservative in its news reporting, from what I hear.)  For the larger foreign news organizations who can afford to have correspondents in the US, they don’t want them to rock the boat, and their correspondents don’t want to embarrass their company or their country, so they have plenty of rationale to follow the liberal reporting herd.

Here in Japan, the oldest and most prominent English-language newspaper, The Japan Times, has a long-standing tie-up with the NY Times.  When one subscribes to the Japan Times, you gain access to the NY Times.  This has swayed the tenor of their reporting on America to favor Democrat policies for decades.  I wonder how many other nation’s English-language newspapers share this sort of connection.

The Wall Street Journal is no longer conservative just about anywhere.  Their news sections are written by a bunch of leftists now, and they constantly editorialize in news stories.  Their publisher, in his column last weekend called President Trump a demagogue, which he is not.  Multiple columnists have called President Trump a bad man, which, again, he is not.  I have been a subscriber for thirty years, and will probably be canceling my subscription shortly.  I like their business news, however, so I am having trouble pulling the trigger.

I have been reading Zero Hedge and The Epoch Times, and they are better.

It has never been conservative in its news reporting. It used to be neutral once you got away from the front page, but it has gotten far more leftwing since Murdoch bought it.  There is not nearly as much news in it as there used to be, either. Once upon a time it had a foreign desk, with stories from reporters in other parts of the world. That is long gone. And the domestic news is not news. It is hate propaganda.
