QotD: From Sharyl Attkisson on Censorship
Saw this and thought of many of us:
Published in PoliticsWhen you see news outlets, “fact checkers,” Internet companies, and others working hard to keep you from seeing or believing something; or controversializing a news outlet, reporter, or other person; use that as a cue to understand that the item/fact/study at issue may actually be true and worthy of further inquiry on your part. The attention giving to censor or controversialize typically signals that powerful interests are trying to hide something or attempting to further a narrative that may be false.
— Sharyl Attkisson, “14 things you can do about Big Tech censorship now“
Oh yeah – it is the issues and events that we are discouraged from discussing that are usually the reality most needed to be exposed.
Sharyl A is a national treasure.
Sharyl, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Yes, we have a nominee for today’s Al Haag award.
Truly disappointing that this is not obvious to the even slightly rational in the MSM.
Thank God some current liberals like Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald see the danger of the corruption of journalism and the censorship by BigTech, and the corresponding (D) fingerprints on the money, lobbying, and exchange of personnel between MSM, BigTech, and (D) office holders and Federal Agencies.
Sharyl Attkisson is one of the few trustworthy journalists remaining. Glenn Greenwald is another.
The latest episode of the Drift Compatible Podcast, which has connections to the Ace of Spades HQ blog, was remembering the fun Ace had ten years ago taking Glenn to task. Now we’re on the same side of this fight. The guest said that Glenn hasn’t changed his political leanings but is standing up for free speech and so we find ourselves on the same side for the moment.
Many people have not changed their political leanings. But it is clear the world around us has changed the roadways, so our dead center is now off to the far right of the shoulder. These are extremely scary times.
How do I get to the Drift Compatible Podcast? I’d like to check it out.
At one point I stopped reading Glenn Greenwald because of his political point of view. It might be time for me to start reading him again.
Here it is. Fair warning, they can get quite salty with their language. The opening always reminds you to get your headphones.
Nice quote. Go get ’em, Sharyl.
