Henry Racette: I’ve just canceled my Amazon Prime membership.

That’s going to be tough for me to do. The convenience of not having to go to a store and put up with the crowds is too much to loose. In addition, they are my publisher via Kindle Direct Publishing.

Other than Ricochet, I’m not on any social media platform, so I can’t quit what I’m not a member of . . .

    You spoke for me too.

And that’s fine. I generally don’t engage in boycotts; it’s just too hard to keep track. I’m not suggesting that anyone do anything in particular, just expressing my own frustration.

Giving up Prime was easy for me: I don’t do many online purchases, and I don’t generally listen to music. But when I canceled my Prime it asked me why, and that gave me an opportunity to go on record. That’s good enough for me.

The best way to fight against Amazon is for conservatives to encourage unionization at their warehouses.

Yeah, it might be a bit humorous to see the Teamsters Union go in to those warehouses, go on strike and then crack a few heads if management would attempt to cross their picket line.  Oh well, I can always dream…

I saw a story about some Google employees unionizing, because “they want a say in how the company is run”.  The inmates wish to run the asylum (more than they already do), so they think that forming a union will allow them to do that.

Hard to imagine how they could be worse than Dorsey but I’ve been fooled before…

I suppose they could become shareholders instead, assuming many of them somehow aren’t.

You don’t need Amazon Prime to use Amazon. Most shipping is free whether or not you use Prime. I cancelled my Prime membership and although I have cut way down on Amazon purchases since then, I have not quit.  Last night I needed some dishwasher parts and ordered them from Amazon, with free shipping.  I don’t know if Prime would have meant faster shipping, but Prime two-day shipping often takes longer than two days anyway.

I don’t plan to discontinue use of audible.com (owned by Amazon) or Kindle.
