The Greatness of America, Part III: Fighting for this Country

In my first post, I demanded that the Left stop their actions which are intended to destroy this country . In my second post, a partial list of America’s contributions to the world followed, given that the Left is determined to shame us and discredit those contributions with lies and the re-writing of our history. In this final post, I will declare what actions I am taking to call out the devastation that the Left plans for this country and steps I will take to strengthen those who are being left behind.

I will not engage in your (the Left’s) rhetoric. It’s become abundantly clear that you are not interested in learning the error of your ways; you much prefer to operate in a self-styled echo chamber. Fortunately, for those who oppose you, we will watch you busy yourselves in encouraging each other, so that you are unlikely to notice our ignoring your declarations. You will be speaking only to your co-conspirators, not to those of us who realize the destruction you are trying to wreak. Eventually you may notice that when you look around you, no one but your friends are with you. The rest of us are aligning with each other to save this country.

I will write to the leaders on the Right every week. Governor DeSantis, Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott will hear from me through email, and I will cheer them on, telling them to fight against those who would destroy us. I want Gov. DeSantis to know that I admire his refusing to give in to attacks from his political enemies; I want to encourage him, to laud his determination to stay on track against COVID-19, and to not cave-in to those who care more about politics than the wellbeing of Florida citizens. For the Senators, I will tell them to continue the onslaught of criticisms of the malfeasance of the other side. (I’m not going to bother to contact our Representative who is a Democrat.) The barrage of condemnation by Republicans against people like Nancy Pelosi, Eric Swalwell, Joe and Hunter Biden should become a raging storm. The Democrats and the far Left need to know we will no longer tolerate their criminal and unethical behavior.

I will cheer on the people who are in my life. We must be strong. We must speak out at every opportunity we can to tell the truth, to call out the lies and misinformation, and to set the record straight. We must remind people that we are not just taking these stands for the abstract idea of America, or just for ourselves: we are doing it for those who are being crushed by the Far Left’s insidious acts. We are fighting for our children. We are fighting for those small business owners and their employees who have already lost everything, and for those who fear for the future. We must communicate with our local businesses and tell them we will be there for them if they can only hold on. We must do business with those shops who are trying to take care of their employees and customers.

I will continually remind myself that I am not acting alone. Not only are other people, in one way or another, engaging this fight, but I hope that I have spiritual energy next to me to support my efforts. When I fight hard, I pray the Divine is right by my side. I will have Truth on my side. I will have Justice on my side. I will have a Warrior on my side.

* * * * *

At this point in my life, I can’t withdraw from this battle. I owe this country so much. I owe so many people so much for their love, support, encouragement and opportunities. There is no other place in the world where I could have accomplished as much as I have, with so much reward, enlightenment and growth. I will never sufficiently give back enough to offset what I have received, but I can try.

I will fight for the people.

I will fight for America.

For people of faith, prayer is a most important element in the fight. We have been urged to pray for state legislators to have courage and for President Trump not to be discouraged. Behind the tough persona, all the negativity seems bound to have an effect at some level. We can include judges, Senators, attorneys, and a host of others. I met a mother at a prayer meeting whose teenage son accused her of doing nothing regarding the present situation. She told him that prayer was the most important thing she could be doing right now. I pray that we can all keep this fighting spirit alive and that prayer will lead to the wise Divine-led actions that you are advocating. There is a time for peace and reconciliation, but it is not now.

    Good for you Susan.

In these very troubling times, we all have to figure out how we can fight this scourge that has taken over our country.

I so appreciate all that you’re saying, Joel. I do believe in the power of prayer, and I think it will go a long way to helping our cause. The very idea of this post fills me with hope and possibility.

Thanks, Unsk. There is too much at stake to not jump into the fight!

Good stuff.  The long march through the institutions will require a long repair of the institutions.

I wonder about the effectiveness of emails.  Is it more effective to call your Senator?  What about sending a fax or telegram?  If you write a letter and staple a $1 bill to it, will it move the needle more?   Does any insider have a suggestion of how to get the most influence out of communication with a Congress member?

I’d love to get some feedback on this, Don. I assume if I called, a staffer would answer and take a message. Then again, a staffer could screen his emails. But I’d sure like to know what has worked for folks. Thanks!

Several years ago when my sister was a DC lobbyist for an education union (she’s now a bureaucrat there) she told me that the way  they encouraged their teachers to make sure their voices were “heard” was to have them fax representatives, not email them, because then an actual piece of paper was generated by the machine that had to be handled and filed by a staff member.  I’m behind now technologically so I don’t even know if a printed fax is always created now that there are Fax apps.

I did learn with my mother’s several hospital stays this summer and fall that for some reason hospitals require that records be faxed to a particular floor instead of emailed.  I assumed that is for privacy reasons as it was a consistent request even from different hospitals.  It was a real pain because I had to set up our old fax machine to send POA/Health Care Surrogate paperwork when I had an already scanned document in PDF form ready to share via email.

I can’t ask my sister what she recommends now because she calls herself a “big D” Democrat and is a big Joe Biden (and especially Kamala, the first minority woman VP candidate) supporter.  She is visiting Florida this week and when I helped her move some stuff from her car yesterday her book on tape accidentally played on the car speakers…it was Barack Obama reading his memoir.

I think you’re on the right track here, Susan, and wish we had our own community organizing experts to help us learn how we can most effectively make our voices heard at the state and federal level.

Very interesting, Diane. I don’t know that a fax is available in their offices, but I can check. My husband’s printer will fax.

You are awesome! Keep up the fight.  This is China 1949, the chinese people retreated hoping for a chance to make a comeback. But it was too late. This is why you see overseas chinese rushing to the forefront in journalism like Epoch Times, Sound of Hope and many many others. We know too well this familiar Scent, we call it the SCENT of China, 1949. If we give up, we will never have another fair election. We cannot surrender for the sake of our children. America is the last place of liberty. My grandfather packed a little bag for my 15 year old father and shipped him away in the face of Communist advancement, they never met again. I have no place to ship my children to.

We’ll know in two years if we can fix it with traditional approaches, i.e. elections.  If not we’ll have to do what our founders did, separate.  These people don’t learn and can’t fix themselves.  Some learn but are replaced by younger folks in greater numbers.  It’s why all societies die and don’t rejuvenate.  Rot tends to kill.  Our founders figured out a way to solve it.  We’ve been destroying that for about a century now and have been slow to see it.

In my work at the Florida State Archives I handled collections from US Congressional Members of both houses.  The general routine I saw for issue correspondence was a toting up of for or against the question.  So, with that in place a ground swell of individual citizens must face unions, AARP, NRA, etc. which may diminish the individual but they do count them all.

I guess a “thank you” for fighting the other side would be a “for,” PappyJim!
