Breaking: Trump Pardons Flynn
Late Wednesday, President Trump pardoned his former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
The three-star general had originally pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about talking with a Russian diplomat during the 2016 transition. The case fell apart when prosecutors declared they had improperly pursued the case. it has been tied up in the courts ever since.
It is my Great Honor to announce that General Michael T. Flynn has been granted a Full Pardon. Congratulations to @GenFlynn and his wonderful family, I know you will now have a truly fantastic Thanksgiving!

Trump announced the pardon on Twitter.

Deep State apparatchiks and Arizona Democrats hardest hit.
Now, let him fire Wray and Haspel to start. Pardon all of his associates who went to prison for him.
Good news.
Best to also remember why this was necessary. And also that his tormentors are still whole…he is not. His tormentors are stronger than ever.
I agree. AOC is out on Twitter proposing they make proscriptions. Its frankly terrifying to watch, for those of us who know.
It’s about time!
What is a proscription?
More (via Instapundit):
His tormentors are evil.
I’m glad he did it. I’m sorry that it was the only solution to a corrupt prosecution.
Dave is wowing us with a somewhat obscure reference to Roman history. A proscription is essentially a death sentence proclaimed against the ruler’s political enemies, accompanied by seizure of property. In short, something like: “Reward — Wanted Dead or Alive — Preferably Dead — And We’ve Nationalized Their Property, Too.”
It was carried out most notably by the Roman dictator Sulla in the late Republican period, circa 81-82 BC. Here’s the Wikipedia entry on Sulla.
Why this was not done long ago is simply inexplicable in my opinion. They are both expressly defiant of the President, especially Wray who goes into Congressional hearings and states whatever is opposite of whatever policy the President has just announced the day before. Before I allow myself to be the least bit critical of the President, however, I remind myself that not one of us can even imagine what he is faced with from day to day and allowing a pesky little vermin like Wray stay on the payroll is probably not even on his radar– until, however, the day it is.. and then, the hammer. I just hope it’s not long in coming.
Nah, I think Judge Emmet Sullivan is hardest hit.
Are you kidding? Judge Sullivan is loving this! It’s what he was playing for. Now he doesn’t have to decide the govt’s motion to dismiss one way or the other.
One of them in particular, obviously, [ ] (I refuse to accord him the honorific he would otherwise be entitled to) Emmitt Sullivan, who, in my humble opinion, is the living, breathing personification of the word evil. In my career at the Bar, which, due largely to the types of cases I specialized in, Admiralty and Maritime matters, was spent in many Federal Courts, I dealt with a number of Federal District Judges and some Court of Appeal Judges. Some of the District Judges were persons of great courtesy and civility and professionalism and integrity who worked very hard on their cases and worked very well with the attorneys and their clients. They were, sad to say, rare exceptions and a true pleasure to work with, no matter the final result. Then, after a larger group of, shall we say, middling Judges, who were adequate at their job, there were—there is simply no other word for them — the monsters. These were persons who were rude, mean-spirited, thin-skinned and, even in some cases, downright cruel to deal with. And, with full knowledge that the following comment is outrageously Politically Incorrect, I must recount that one of the worst of this lot, if not the worst, was a female Federal District Judge. She was a nightmare to deal with and the only question the lawyers had in mind as they reported to her Chambers for Conference was who was going to get insulted, demeaned, yelled at, etc. the worst on that particular day.
I set all this perhaps-too-tawdry detail out (as I write this part, I do so with a huge and contented smile on my face, in the full knowledge that I will never have to deal with some of these monsters again–ever!) in order to note that while I disliked, detested, abhorred, cringed at the very thought of, some of these monsters, simple good taste and manners and a sense of professionalism, along with our Honored C of C, inhibits me from stating on this page the utter contempt I feel for [ ] Emmitt Sullivan, as he is, if this is possible in the human register, lower than evil, lower than contempt, lower than beastly. With all the talk about, and charges of, impeachment being bandied about in the lase few years, it is incomprehensible why this despicable and foul man (?) has not been impeached and defrocked. He has left a deep stain on what was, not long ago, a highly respected Federal Judiciary which will be there for sometime. Jim.
A proscription is create a list of your enemies and put them in the public square. In Roman times, anyone who killed one of these people would be given a bounty. If you were a slave you were given your freendom. Their property would be gained by the state.
AOC is merely suggesting, they be not be allowed to hold office or have a job, or be allowed in the public square. For now.
No, I am not kidding and while he may have gotten what he wanted, I think this is a case of be careful what you ask for.
And then you have this guy:
A former Federal prosecutor and now “legal analyst” for NBC. How the frack does anyone with that little knowledge of the Constitution pass the bar?
“Congress can neither limit the effect of his pardon, nor exclude from its exercise any class of offenders. The benign prerogative of mercy reposed in him cannot be fettered by any legislative restrictions,” said Justice Stephen Johnson Field in his majority opinion in Ex Parte Garland. So Congress is powerless but this yahoo thinks a Federal Judge can?
I learned something here today, thanks to the lawyers. I feel a little blog post coming on, over at RushBabe49.com, later.
I recommend people wanting to know about check out Viva Frei on youtube. He has dozens of videos on the subject. Its disheartening to know such corruption exists in the USA.
He ought to lose his job.
I take it you don’t think much of him.
Why do you do this? Why do you attack reflexively? I have not weighed in on Flynn; Andy McCarthy has strongly shown that Flynn was set up. You owe an apology to Jon Gabriel for trashing up his post.
Judge Emmet Sullivan is a Federal District Judge. Are you advocating his impeachment?
So Sullivan is off the hook and won’t have to clean up his mess. Should have waited a bit maybe. Good for Flynn but bad for law.
Yes.
Nothing gets by you, does it? :-)
I join in your answer to @garyrobbins, with this additional note.
If the disgrace this man has brought upon the entire Federal Judiciary and the cruel and deliberate torment he has rained down on a man who served his country as a General Officer of the United States Army, (several years in combat zones in harm’s way) and his entire family, including but certainly not limited to, in effect, telling his superior Court of Appeal to go [fill in your favorite phrase here], is not enough to bring impeachment charges against a Federal District Judge, then I guess what is left is video tape of a Judge accepting a bundle of clearly visible currency for a load of cocaine.
In the event there could possibly be any remaining doubt about how I feel about this [ ] who I refuse to accord the honorific usually accorded a Member of the Bench, please see #15.
Sincerely, Jim
It’s probably not enough if he’s a Dem appointment.
Sad but true.
