Recommended by Ricochet Members Created with Sketch. Thankful for the Possibilities

Yesterday was my Wife’s birthday. We celebrated by going out to a local Italian restaurant owned and operated by an Albanian-born but New York City-raised chef. We live in Southwest Missouri. I’m thankful to live in a country where this is still possible.

Tonight my brother and I will be processing the doe I harvested Monday night. Several pounds of meat will be going into the freezer to help feed the family later. I’m thankful to live in a country where this is still possible.

Tomorrow we’ll be visiting family for our normal Thanksgiving Day traditions. I’m thankful to live in a country where this is still possible.

Sunday we’ll decide whether or not we want to attend church services (we always should). I’m thankful to live in a country where this is still possible.

Monday I’ll go back to work. My wife and children will be home. Our fridge and our hearts will be full. Despite the problems of the world outside, we’ll have more than enough. I’m thankful to live in a country where that’s still possible.

Preston Storm: Yesterday was my Wife’s birthday.

My silly brain registered that as “WiFi”.

It’s tough to consider what’s happening in our country and remain optimistic. It’s tough to read a post like yours and not feel gratitude. Perspective is a wonderful thing. Thanks for the reminder.

We attended church services last night; a minor but not insignificant motivation for going was provided by our State Government.

Today on a beautiful, sunny mid 50’s day, my wife and I will have over to celebrate and give thanks, two dear life-long friends plus one of my wife’s brothers–all of us like-minded and life-loving. We will share a magnificent bounteous meal and warm cheer. Thank you, God.

And thanks to you as well @prestonstorm for your lovely reminder of how lucky we are.
