An Inconvenient Hiccup and Resurrecting the Swamp

Now I finally get it. How could I miss the obvious?

For the deluded Left, the last four years were just an inconvenient blip on the screen of history. They hated it when Trump won the 2016 election, and made sure everyone—those on the Left and the Right—experienced hatred and frustration in one way or another.

But that was then and this is now.

As far as the Left is concerned, the country can now resume it’s true and righteous agenda of change and transformation set in motion by their leader, Obama:

They would say, sure we made a few mistakes before 2016, but what can you do when an election is stolen? But we didn’t waste those four years: we re-energized and ginned up the anger. We made sure that everyone knows that Trump was a fraud, a liar, a racist, and a hater. We’ve worked very hard at accentuating the weaknesses of the Right, and we see them in full panic mode, trying to save themselves from an inevitable future that has been in the making for years. They’ve shown how feckless they are in trying to rescue a different outcome for this election, but we have too much momentum. The people of this country are seeing just how greedy and hopeless the Right is.

So we can now continue marching forward with our agenda of change: equality, fairness, re-distribution, and becoming a global participant in a united world. We will take our place along with everyone else, making sure that all of us reap the benefits of a universe of fairness. We will sacrifice much as a country, but the world will benefit.

Eventually, the people of the United States will understand that we are dedicated to a larger purpose: one world, united in justice and equality.

We are back on track.

* * * * *

Can’t you just see the Left, guided by the secret elite, congratulating themselves? They are clueless about, and have no respect for, the people of this country; to them, we are just a mass of mindless creatures waiting for them to tell us what to do.

But the Left has underestimated us. They always have, as they live in their cocoon of snobbery and arrogance. They rest on the tenets of a failed worldview. They never learn from their mistakes. But they are certain that they are right. They will do their best to resurrect The Swamp and there will even be those on the Right who will quietly try to help them.

But the Left is mistaken. In these four years, we have watched the ugliness of the media and the Left in brilliant technicolor. In spite of their denials about launching an Obama third-term, we know what they are doing and we must stop them.

We are resilient. We are determined. We will fight back.

The last four years were not an inconvenient hiccup in time. The Right has seen, through Trump’s persistence, what can be accomplished culturally, internationally, and economically.

And we will not back down.

Watch us.

These terms are outdated. Kerry, Clinton, Biden Obama are globalists who lean left but will always protect multinational corporations, are sufficiently hawkish to appease the neo-cons (who are also globalists), and they disagree with far leftist tactics, mostly because they believe they are counterproductive. They are the very opposite of populists, which is why they abhor Bernie, Tulsi and Trump.

It may be time for we us deplorable populists to temporarily unite with the left-wing populists for the sake of the nation. Can we conceive of this?

I’ve said this before but the most depressing part of this is that we will require the assistance of the GOP.

There is a faction of DNC voters that are patriotic, don’t like endless wars, and don’t like big corporations running everything. I think a bunch of them voted for Trump, but not all of em.

It’s a small fraction. The two parties have changed. The Dems are all globalists and support these new internet corporations. I recently saw that the Dems increased their numbers by 10% among people earning over $100,000. Social issues divide the parties more and more, not wealth. Just look at Soros, Bloomberg, Gates, and the rest.

Real Socialists that I’ve seen seem to be relieved that Trump is gone, but they also seem incredibly depressed at the overall outcome of the election, precisely because major changes are very unlikely, and the Supreme Court has many new good justices.

One part of me agrees with you, @mikeh: Biden is picking moderates to be around him. But the pressures of the far Left and that elite may decide to exert all kinds of pressures through the media to go more extreme. And we still have Georgia to worry about. I also am concerned about Biden cancelling Trump’s Executive Orders.

Other than Yellen, what moderates? I haven’t seen any.

I agreed with you in an earlier comment. No moderates–only the media wanting us to see them that way.

I agree about Obama, too. I came out of my chair when he criticized Trump for the “cages” illegals were put in. I couldn’t believe he said that, since it was his idea.

I’m not entirely crazy. People like Taibbi and Greenwald detest the Globalist Democrats as much as we do. Maybe together we can crush them. Then we can go back to fighting among ourselves instead of having to fight China and Iran, too.

A lot of issues don’t neatly align with the left/right political spectrum, and free trade is a great example.  Ross Perot nearly won the presidency by opposing NAFTA, at a time when Bush and Clinton both supported it.  The mainstream Dems and the GOP have supported free trade deals for decades now, opposition came from folks like Nader and Bernie on the left and Buchanan and Trump on the right.

Heck Bernie even opposed immigration most of his career, b/c he and his fellow socialists understand that importing cheap foreign workers drives down American wages.  I believe he’s flipped recently to appease the Open Borders faction of his party’s base.

I think the Republicans are going to have to seriously prioritize the things we feel are essential to this country; everything can’t be a top priority. For example, Drew mentioned the push for globalization; that’s also connected to the socialist/Marxist agenda. I think that’s a top priority to stop, if there’s any way to do that. If we make our position a firm, No! we find allies in the Dems to work with us. Some of them have got to be worried but are afraid to say so.

We have to consider that new types of coalitions will need to be formed, and some not necessarily to our liking, but that we can stand by. No weenie compromises. We need to draw a line in the sand.

I’d be curious to know what battlefields you think we need to be willing to die on, and the ones you can put aside for the next four years until we are in power again.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Taibbi and Greenwald I do not believe are elected officials.  You won’t find very many elected Dems to form a coalition.  You may find some that are at risk of beling elected out.

True. However, some have got to be feeling the heat after another shellacking. We’ve learned that a lot of Dems were angry with the party leadership for embracing leftist loonyism.

Here’s what our Never Trump friends have in common with Biden, et al:

Globalism that favors multi nationalist corporations.

    No more corporate welfare.

Liberal use of the US military around the world.

No.  But acting in concert with our allies.

Open borders ( Chamber of Commerce endorsed Biden)

No.  See my Main Feed Post on Immigration.  https://ricochet.com/490488/archives/a-modest-immigration-proposal-2/  In brief, no one who ever breaks our laws, even if they obtain some sort of ability to stay here, can ever become a citizen.

Strong CIA, FBI Intel agency abilities to maintain control over the plebes.

There is a need for non-demonized intelligence and law enforcement.

A general, don’t rock the boat ( or cruise ship) mentality.

Trump is not a “disrupter’ he is a destroyer.  We will totally benefit from a boring, competent President, like George H.W. Bush, or how Jeb Bush would have been.

Pro Wall Street, pro lawyer, pro Big Pharma…

Pro market, not pro Wall Street.  Pro business, not pro lawyer.  Pro innovation, not pro Big Pharma.

Anti-populist ( see Tea Party, Trump, Bernie)

I was a member of the Tea Party.

I consider myself firmly on the ‘right’, I feel these people are just about the opposite in political orientation than I am. We may hold a few policy wishes in common, but considering that the globalist Republican creatures never move these policies forward ( or thwart the ones they claim they are against, I consider myself in a completely different party.

My issue is not with Conservative Positions.  My issue is that Trump does not live those positions and is ill suited to be President.  We should never treat the Presidency as an Entry Level job in the future.

Very good point, @josephstanko. Do you have any thoughts on how they will deal with that reality?

And they also have to face the  loss of House seats in California. Their majority is slimmer and the Ds remaining in what were formerly considered safe districts for them now have bull’s eyes painted on their backs for 2022.

Deeply disappointing, Roberts is. I have defended him in the far ago past, accepting that the Chief Justice has a uniquely institutional concern that, if adopting that role, frees all other justices to indulge their particular legal analysis for the case at hand. But his persistent joining with progressives in pursuing a progressive molding of the constitution, makes stories about progressives having some sort of personal hold over him more credible.

There’s no defending Roberts any longer. I don’t even see why there would be an institutional argument. He should be voting on the justice of the issue. To do otherwise is to fail at ones sacred honor as a judge.

In all hopes the GA elections will go our way. At that point Republicans have no reason but to make every effort to destroy Biden’s presidency in the womb (nursing home).

Democrats and the media treated Bush identically to Trump, as they did Mccain and Romney. Hopefully the old fool will have to step down at some point and the condescending and toxic VP can take the reins.

After the past four years, I see no reason for compromise or even collective goals.

What could we possibly compromise on?  The green new deal?  Open immigration?  Socialist economics?  There’s nothing to comprise on. Biden comes in as the weakest president of my lifetime. Republicans that decide to compromise with him need to be turned out of office.
