Is it Time for Our Own Lawn Signs?
For the first time, I am seriously considering doing lawn signs that express my political views. (Inspired by @gregstrange).
I am going for pithy and defendable – something that starts a conversation. What do you think of:
All Human Lives Matter
Souls are on Loan from G-d
Science is a Process
Earth is not my Mother
We are all Responsible for our Choices
Love is as Love Does
I think this gets the main points across, and does it in a way that makes it harder for the reader to discount as being something they already know they disagree with.
Suggestions? Changes?

Make it a small size of letters and hard to read. They’ll have to come into your yard to read the signs, and then they step in the bear trap.
That’s funny, because I just replied to your comment in Greg Strange’s post that it is time for our own lawn signs. And t-shirts and mugs and bumper stickers. We’ll end up with a lot of damaged property, but we learned this summer that insurance will cover it so no big deal.
I can dig it.
I especially like the “Love is as Love Does”.
How about ” Listen for the Heartbeat”?
I like the idea but I’m not sure what to put on the sign.
“There are no solutions, only tradeoffs,” maybe.
I’m opposed to yard signs. For me I mean. Though we had two in our yard this year. I’m just not sure what good they do.
But what if a cute little kid comes into the yard, the bear trap springs on him, and he bleeds out before they can find anyone strong enough to open the trap. What about that, ‘Hant? Did you think about that?
I bet you consider that collateral damage. Shame, ‘Hant! Shame.
There are many for sale.
My neighbor is anti gun
No lives matter
The NAZI’s loved “Science”
My taxes pay for your whining
It always happens when you give these little people power, it goes to their head like strong drink.

I think they make a statement for what is right, against the pressures that try to force us into silence. In my case (a gated community), we’re not permitted to put up yard signs. That’s my excuse and I’m stickin’ to it!
There’s also Crash’s speech from Bull Durham (linking not embedding due to language and, well…).
I’m not replacing my “Robbers: Please Carry ID So We Can Notify Next of Kin” sign.

So we’ll do this one.
Mrs. iWe is not keen on starting wars with people who would pick the time and manner of weaponry.
“Joe Biden is a pure demagogue”
One of my neighbors:
A sign-making friend of my acquaintance has suggested: All Lives Matter, Unless They Cross This Fence Line Without Permission.
And then there is the old standard:
Anyone found on this property after sundown will be found on this property after sunup.
Good post @iwe, I have often thought about a different type of yard sign and like your ideas.
I’d like one that says: “Humpty Dumpty was pushed…..” just to get them thinking…
I have often used “Science is a process” in discussions in various places. I usually follow it with “Faith is a conclusion.”
I want one that says:
“If All Lives Matter, Then No Lives Matter”
just to kind of tweak, well, everyone.
Truth Exists
Reality isn’t Socially Conditioned
Gender may not be biological, but sex is.
edit- change the second to reality is socially constructed
Nothing raises my hackles faster that “my truth.”
“Get off my lawn.”
Here’s a couple more that are typical of Montana:
The owner of this house is heavily armed. There is nothing in here worth dying for.
We shoot every third trespasser. The second one just left.
From Klavan: In this house “You don’t get to kill people to solve your problems.”
Spoilsport!
Hate has no home here, he’s just a welcome guest.
Hate has no home here, but he left a forwarding address.
People don’t have genders, they have sex. Except for you.
If you can read this, I don’t even need the scope.
