Thousands of Californians Protest Gov. Newsom’s Illegal Edicts

Saturday, especially in Southern regions of The Golden State, many Californians saw to it that The Tree of Liberty Witnessed a Whole Lot of Enthusiasm on Saturday. From Breitbart:

Thousands of people in 16 California cities took to the streets on Saturday, Nov 21st 2020  to protest Gov. Gavin Newsom’s curfew order requiring people to stay at home after 10 p.m. Carrying Trump/Pence flags and “Open up California” banners, the crowds began to gather at 10:01 p.m., including in Huntington Beach and San Clemente.

“Governor Newsom’s sweeping edicts by moving 95 percent of California to purple tier and a curfew is an abuse of power,” Syndie Ly, who helped organize the protest and was on the ground in San Clemente, told Breitbart News. “We are all responsible adults so we can make our individual choices.” Pause. “This movement is about us rising up for our freedom and against Governor Newsom’s overreaching edicts,” Ly said.

“This is tyrannical and government overreach on behalf of Gavin Newsom and other Democrat governors. The American people, as well as citizens of other countries need to stand up against this,” declared Nancy Vu-Kerr, who took part in the Huntington Beach protest.”

Just about as good news is that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies (Sheriff and Police) in southern California are refusing to enforce this idiotic edict by Newsom.

No worries.  After Biden takes office, Newsom can have him bring in UN “Peacekeepers.”

They were in my city as well, and I loved it! Same time … 10:01 pm, caravans of trucks with huge TRUMP flags peacefully driving down some of the major thoroughfares. Our county sheriff is a patriot … posted a notice that they would not be enforcing the curfew nor would they be monitoring number of people gathering in homes on Thanksgiving. I’m in Northern California … by the way.

I’m beginning to think that this is the only way the craziness/overreach is going to stop – by people simply ignoring the edicts.

That basically is how people proclaim that they’re free.

Here in Mexico, there are signs on the beaches that alcohol isn’t allowed (apparently coronavirus breeds in beer or something). The Mexicans just ignore it. Right now, at 2:30 am, I can hear a party on the beach. I’m sure they’re not drinking Coca-Cola.

Yep.  Just open up the stores, and start working again.  They dont have enough cops to enforce this rule.

Outside of the Goergia runoff, you would think that because trying to intimidate people into pushing their state leaders to increase shutdowns has no more chance to affect voting until 2022 (’21 for a handful of locales, like VA, NJ and NYC), that the states with leaders still pushing for the most draconian of shutdowns will very soon start to face a contrast-and-compare with states not in total lockdowns.

The number of infections, deaths, incidents per 1,000 people within those populations and the economic impacts of the lockdowns on businesses and individuals are going to become more of a factor for those officials who are and aren’t forcing extreme shutdowns, and if states like California, Oregon, Michigan or New York aren’t seeing far fewer COVID cases than places like Texas or Florida (to name the two largest states not in total lockdown), one of two things is going to happen. Either the governors and state officials in those lockdown states are going to face growing pressure from their voters, including Democrats, to justify what they’re doing when the statistics don’t back them up, or you’re going to see a push by the officials in those states (and supportive national media) for Biden to Executive Order those states not in severe lockdown to start following deep Blue state standards.

Given how many people, including sheriffs in places like California and New York, have already told their Blue state governors and other elected officials to pound sand on their shutdowns, odds are pretty good the pound sand meme will reach even higher up the political food chain in the Red states, if wacky-but-loveable Uncle Joe says the whole nation has to follow Gavin Newsom’s regulations. That might also be the moment the first of those who voted for Biden because they just couldn’t stand Trump’s temperament might start realizing bad political policy might have more of a negative impact on their lives than angry insulting tweets.

I keep hearing “cases of Covid are still increasing” but really, they only mean that people who are taking a test are testing positive, right? These aren’t actual “sick” people, who are dying now and then, right?

Well, if the people in California are finally showing some gumption and standing up to the stupid edicts and shutdowns, I certainly hope that the rest of the country will follow suit and we can be DONE WITH THIS CRAP….soon.

“It’s sort of like saying, ‘I have a constitutional right to drive drunk’ … There is no constitutional right to walk around without a mask.”– Republican Governor Larry Hogan

    Man, we are doomed.

SCOTUS has to weigh in on this, or we most certainly are.

Now, if the citizens will just elect Republicans . . .

What difference, at this point, will it make?
