Bad News and Good News
So we’ll start with the bad news, in which my trusty computer has given up the ghost. It’s a seven-year-old Macbook,…and I took the time to try and update the operating system along with sundry software thingies, all in anticipation of some exciting developments coming to my podcast. At which point apps began crashing, the hard drive filled to capacity while I was trying to reinstall some things,…and the poor MacBook couldn’t take the stress. Funeral services will be held at a private location.
The good news that a major upgrade is in the works, which will yield even better upgrades to the podcast, as the following little advertisement indicates. Stay tuned…

R.I.P. your MacBook. But in life, the departing makes it possible for the nascent to come into their own. We appreciate and build on what came before, and I’m very much looking forward to this new beginning. Best of luck, Dave!
I feel your pain. It is such an ephemeral media, these little digitized boxes of information.
Plus they always seem to fail at the exact worst time, don’t they.
I had a computer guy come and retrieve information off one of the Windows 10 machines. I was so happy that he could recover all the thousands of files, and then switch them over to the new machine.
But then when a month or so later, I went into the directory and opened up the file on a short story I was writing, my heart sank. The last two pages were in hieroglyphic form. Nothing but rune style icons where the alphabet letters should have been.
And the ultimate tragedy is that it meant that each and every thing that had been recovered had no real final 2 pages.
The assumption that had been made that the transfer would indeed transfer the information correctly and not into gibberish was a faulty one.
I hope you have better luck.
Mais, it’s good to see Alphonse is on the job!
Was there no room in the trailer for explosions?
Costume Designer Janet Jackson
Wardrobe malfunctions anticipated?
I’m flattered that you folks looked at the credits! Alphonse worked hard on this presentation.
Not at this point. The bartender works for tips alone, though.
Hey Dave, love your podcast, looking forward to the upgrades. I just moved to a spot near Jackson, TN and do IT for a living and have helped out some folks in the PIT. Should you need anything, just let me know!
Thank you! And welcome to the area! Jackson is comparatively safer than Memphis, but then again, so is Chicago. I’ll let ya know if I need a hand here. Thanks again!
You do a great podcast and I LOVE the video production!! Way cool!!
Brother Carter, that intro was outstanding!!
Well Thank You, Brother Mongo! I’m hoping the rest of what I’ve been dreaming up will live up to the billing. Need to get you back on the show as well, don’tcha know.
