For Goodness Sake, Just Relax!
Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in his jail cell. So it’s okay that the cameras were broken, the guards were absent, and no one was monitoring this known suicide risk. What matters is that we forget about Epstein and all the people who used to hang out (sorry, Jeffrey) with him.
The Russians planted Hunter Biden’s laptop. So it okay’s that Twitter and Facebook and the Democrat press (aka mainstream media) censored the story and blocked people from hearing about it. It’s okay that they didn’t hear about the wealth of evidence and witnesses that tended to confirm that it really is Hunter’s laptop and it really is full of evidence that the Biden family made millions selling political influence. What matters is that we move on and forget about the millions the astoundingly unaccomplished Biden Jr. raked in from foreign governments while Biden Sr. was in the White House.
There’s no such thing as voter fraud. So it’s okay that thousands of votes were accidentally switched from Trump to Biden by widely used voting machines, that hundreds of thousands of unrequested ballots were mailed to the wrong addresses, that dead people voted, that big city ballot-counting operations were blatantly partisan and irregular, that the laws were rewritten on the fly by unauthorized officials, and that purported turnout in critical districts was historically and unbelievably high. What matters is that we accept the assessment of the mainstream media (yes, the one that censored the Hunter Biden story) and concede defeat without looking more closely or exhausting our legal options. (You know, like Gore would have done in 2000, if he hadn’t done the opposite and fought the result for 37 days.)
Relax. The party of the 0.1%, with the technical assistance of the biggest companies in the world and the almost complete support of the mainstream media, has probably maybe won without even needing whatever cheating occurred. They certainly spent enough of the 0.1%’s money doing it. So if you’re one of the 70 million or so who voted wrong, the party of the 0.1% has an answer: “Shut up. Of course, your vote counted. We know: we counted it.”
Relax.
Gary said that was fake news.
Great idea, the only problem for me is that I turned off network news and network TV entertainment a long time ago. Nevertheless, I’ll pass it on
I’m not surprised. You kind of sold your political soul, my friend. That might leave you feeling isolated and alone, disliked, untrusted, and unloved.
You shouldn’t feel unloved. No one should. The rest of it? Yeah, you earned that.
I’m trying to remain optimistic but there is a distinct possibility that Newsmax, The Gateway Pundit and Louis Gohmert are being played. Special Forces deployed in Germany? A NATO ally? German police were not involved? This story broke last night and not a single administration official has said boo or even teased out that a national security announcement may be pending.
Another possibility is that despite Sidney Powell’s colorful “kraken” threat, she doesn’t have enough solid evidence either. If she and whomever she is working with aren’t prepared to step up to the microphones and present their evidence at a press conference and take questions by end of day Monday then I think it’s just the law of diminishing returns from then on out.
I also listened to General McInerney who has been pushing the Hammer and Scorecard story on Larry Elder’s radio show and I found him not credible at all. He’s always speaking from his home and does not appear in public. When he was pressed by Elder on certain specifics about the claim, he would change the subject to general statements of voter fraud and Biden hiding in a basement and then made a passing remark that he may not be welcome in the Pentagon. What the heck does that mean? Is he a nutcase? Given his record of service, why wouldn’t he be welcome in the Pentagon? Quite strange and doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
I have to admit I’m getting a little tired of hearing nonsense about “glitches” and “vote-swapping” with no backing evidence. Is the code in the public domain or not? Is there really an adjustable weighting factor for the candidate’s votes that neither party wants removed? Is there a separate thread of execution that is timer based, wakes up at some interval and adjusts votes upward by some small fraction so as to not draw attention?
I’m reminded of Norman Lear’s comment that the two most important words in the language are “over” and “next”. When it’s over, it’s over. Now, what’s next?
That title belonged to Bill Clinton. He corrupted the Democrats so they could behave the way they are behaving now.
Maybe. Carter was an incompetent, self-righteous jerk, but arguably the Clinton’s introduced the politics of personal destruction.
Actually no. I feel exhausted and exhilarated. In a moment of reflection, I posed the following question to two friends, one of who has been sheltering in place for 250 days! If God had come to you with two choices which would you take:
Choice 1. 2020 with the pandemic, sheltering in place, loss of income, wearing the damn masks, BUT that Trump would lose.
Choice 2. 2020 continues as if it were an extension of 2019. No pandemic, no sheltering in place, no loss of income, no masks, BUT Trump wins.
Of course, none of us have such magical powers. But for me, I would choose Choice 1 as I see Trump as an existential danger to the Republic and the Republican Party. Both of my friends, after considering the two choices, chose Choice 1, to have 2020 as it turned out given that at the end of the year, our Country was delivered from Trump.
I often feel misunderstood at Ricochet, in my life I feel connected, alive, liked, trusted, and loved. To quote my minister, “Everything is in divine order.” To quote an AA friend, “Tell the truth, and trust the process.”
All in all, given that Trump was defeated and our Country and Party were saved, 2020 was a great year.
Gary, I’m going to chalk that up to the kind of casual stupid boastfulness any of us might engage in, rather than something as callous and frankly monstrous as it is. And then I think I’m going to take a break from you, as I think you’ve stumbled into a bad place, and I don’t enjoy visiting it.
Some more remarks at “A Sermon to the Choir” about what’s next.
Glad I read your comment before replying. You said it much better than I ever could have. The man is NOT misunderstood by ricochet. He is misunderstood by himself.
“Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril. When you are ignorant of the enemy, but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal. If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril.” — Sun Tzu
Gary knows neither. He thinks Donald Trump is the enemy. Meanwhile the Left has overrun our institutions and is in the process of nullifying our constitutional rights. Some things can’t be fixed.
I’m not trying to win the Ricochet Cynic of the Year award, but I’ve come to believe that no one wants this settled because both sides believe they have a winning issue.
Not unlike the way China and the Party were saved from student protestors in 1989. It was a great victory, just not a victory for the good guys.
Trump has six major pieces of litigation staring him in the face, which have been delayed only because he was president. https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/10/politics/donald-trump-lawsuits/index.html. That immunity from trials, and depositions, ends on January 20, 2021. He is facing massive debts. If Trump ends up getting indicted criminally and then exposed as a liar in the two defamation civil cases, plus ends up bankrupt again, I would wager that most people will conclude that America was saved by Providence by his defeat on November 3rd.
I entered college in 1970. I remember that a majority of the Republican Party supported Nixon when he resigned. As more and more stuff came out after Nixon left the Presidency, his support evaporated. Nixon was never a force in American elective politics again.
I could be wrong about all of this. But I don’t think so.
It’s a disgrace that of all the presidents who deserve to have major litigation against them, the worst ones have had none. Not what you’d call a civilized country.
Los Angeles county voted for George Gascon, supported by Soros. Lacey, a black female incumbent, conceded.
Story must have been retracted, there is nothing there.
I hear you. We have never before had a new President prosecute a former President. But we have never had a Trump as President. None of the six lawsuits have been filed by the federal government. Even if Trump were to resign the Presidency to be pardoned by President Mike Pence, these six lawsuits would still continue.
I was a Nixon voter in 1960, my first vote. During Watergate, I became convinced that everything said about Nixon was true., In the years since, especially after Mark Felt identified himself, I have realized that Watergate was an FBI coup d’etat. Nixon harmed himself by being too caring about underlings but the coup succeeded because of Felt and his vengeance at being passed over. Imagine what an evil Director he would have made. My conclusions about Nixon.

Good information there. I was not up-to-date on all of that.
Saved the article to Evernote.
Just another coward in the mold of Jeff Sessions?
You OK Susan? You started as a polite moderate who was wary of Trump if I recall. You seem to have moved pretty dramatically the last few years.
Without making any assertions relative to Susan, I’ll just observed that a lot of polite moderates, having witnessed four years of borderline criminal misconduct from the left, have moved pretty dramatically.
We’ll get another couple million red pills from the gaslighting about election fraud.
Sure, we may not have convincing evidence that fraud tipped 3 swing states and stole the election. But we have proof that fraud happened, pretty good evidence that it happened extensively, evidence that Democrats are corrupt, and evidence that the media and Big Tech are corrupt when they keep telling us there’s nothing to see here and nothing even to ask about.
Exactly.
I feel that we have entered a season of winning. I felt it on election Tuesday. For weeks, smart pundits had been suggesting that conservatives who questioned the polls were whistling past the graveyard, deluding themselves, being statistics deniers, etc.
Then most of the predictions were turned upside down and, for the second time in four years, the presumed experts were revealed to be less than prescient.
I like that. We put too much faith in people who claim expertise in chaotic and complex fields.
Again I’m in the minority. I believe those polls serve a purpose. Early in the race they are designed to influence, so we have these margins that indicate it’s hopeless for Trump. Might as well stay home Trumpsters. As the election approaches the margin shrinks or “the polls narrow”. This is an attempt to maintain credibility for the next effort to defeat the Republican candidate. Call me cynical if you want, but that’s how I’d do it if I were being paid by the Demo-rats.
We don’t know what the future holds. That’s why it’s called the future.
You could be right — and probably are, frankly.
What I like is that it doesn’t matter, in terms of the public’s faith in experts. Whether it was incompetence or deception, the damage done to the myth of expertise — one of the great misconceptions of our time, in my opinion — is accomplished.
And will be forgotten (or ignored because “this time we’ve fixed it!”) in time for the next election.
