The False Narratives that may Shape Your Future – Volume 1

“[Biden is a…] pure demogog—out to save Am. from the Reagan Doctrine.” – President Ronald Reagan (diary entry)

It seems the entire Democrat-Media Complex is all-in on the “Trump Mishandled COVID” narrative and, with all due respect to Mr. Reagan, the term “demagogues” just doesn’t cut hard enough at the disgusting level of intellectual dishonesty coming from the various organs and mouthpieces being deployed against the President. (Yes, that includes that little twit who occupied the big office before Mr. Trump.) “Liars” is more fitting. (As opposed to the little-“l” liars of the local variety. Amateurish to be sure but disgusting nonetheless. But I digress.)

Let us return to Friday, March 13 and one of those organs being used to dictate the narrative du jour to help prepare their troops for the weekend news cycles with material to continue to undercut the President:

I hope you can read the small print: “CDC WORST CASE SCENARIO: 1.7 MILLION DEATHS.” That link informs us:

Between 160 million and 214 million people in the U.S. could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.’s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the U.S. could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nation’s medical system, which has only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds. Fewer than a tenth of those are for people who are critically ill.

[emphasis added]

And from the link for the red banner headline:

Between 70 to 150 million people in the United States could eventually be infected with the novel coronavirus, according to a projection shared with Congress…

At the low end of the projection this would mean about 700,000 deaths. At the high end it would mean 1.5 million deaths.

[emphasis added]

This was the full-court press being put on Mr. Trump to take the unprecedented step of shutting down the U.S. economy. But let’s save that for another volume in the series…

The numbers available as I type this are: 8.6 million cases and 225,000 deaths. Actual cases are sitting between 4%-12% of the predicted range and deaths between 13%-32%. All still scary stuff but not catastrophic by comparison. (One might infer that it is being managed somewhat effectively and at great cost to We the People…if one was honest.) Yet Drudge informs us daily of the scores of thousands of new cases…”spiking.” For a little perspective, and if I did the math correctly, it would have to keep that up for another 600 days to reach the low end of the March “scare Trump into destroying our economy” predictions.

Now, based on their own March predictions…offered in good faith, I assure you…does the word “mishandled” seem appropriate today.

Remember the Liars (and the liars).

P.S. For those interested in such things, the archive feature at Drudge may come in handy.

I can’t stand the paranoia on new cases and their ignoring deaths! People simply don’t understand that at this stage, catching the virus might actually be a good thing; very few people die. There’s a part of me that would just like to get it and get it over with, but at 71 and a husband with pre-existing conditions, it’s not quite as easy.

I loved hearing yesterday that Fauci actually supports a national mask mandate–and at the same time, he thinks we’ll have a vaccine by the end of the year. Whose side are you on, doc?

Someone who is a technical advisor to a decision-maker will generally focus on one aspect of the issue: in this case, Fauci is clearly focused on minimizing deaths and suffering from this specific disease…if that is one’s only concern, then yeah, vaccines, masks, lockdowns all together might well make sense.  Other experts in public health, though, might be concerned with the impact on other diseases resulting from a situation in which people aren’t getting testing and treatment because of lockdowns and fear.  Social scientists might note the impact of lockdowns on mental health, suicide rates, etc.  Economists and people in general are concerned about jobs.  Some lawyers and politicians, as well as many individuals, do have concerns about legalities and civil liberties.

Fauci should have *either* adopted a broader perspective or, more likely, clarified that “I’m looking at it specifically from this perspective, there are other perspectives that matter.”  And even when it comes to Covid-19 prevention and treatment, it seems to me that he comes across as too rigid and too inclined to communicating in terms of ‘this is the way it is’ rather than actually explaining data and alternatives.

The whole topic of decision-making under conditions where expert knowledge is essential is a fascinating one.  I wrote about one very interesting and important example here:  Radar Wars: a case study in science and government.

As with many words, the word “expert” has been totally debased by the Left.  Personally, I do not listen to many so-called “experts” these days, since so many have been wrong so often.  In fact, the entire medical establishment, with all its recommendations for what foods you should and should not eat; which vaccinations you should get, etc. has been thoroughly discredited.

The IHME group that makes all the scary virus case and death predictions has been wrong so often, and had predictions not come true, is changing their death numbers so often that it has been discredited.  In our local news, we get death and case numbers each day, and, of course, every day there are more.  No stats on recoveries or number of tests-the case and death stats are just numbers with no context, including age-ranges of those who died.  And the IHME is still giving a number of “total lives that could be saved” if everyone wears their mask everywhere.  It’s all BS and I totally ignore them.

But whose fault is it that Fauci stayed in his office, while Ms Birx continued to hold hers?

On March 13th, with his declaration that COVID was a National Emergency, Trump made Bill Gates the Acting Executive over  all matters related to COVID.

Fauci is a Gates’ protege, just as Birx is a Bloomberg protege.

BTW, back in March, Trump could have stated that COVID had was serious and that he would assign it the “emergency” status once all the facts are in.

Now among the many facts that are in, is the fact that Trump has given over one billion dollars to Gates’ GAVI, the vaccine arm of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

It should also be noted that basically the idea 225,000 people have died from COVID is a mere anecdotal accounting of the situation.

Have autopsies been done on even half the people that ha COVID? Was the virus that is supposedly the problem isolated in the patients’ tissues, when the autopsies that did occur were done?

Koch’s principles no longer are applied to anything in this day of “modern medicine.”

I just had a lengthy conversation on social media with a woman who had two friends who had COVID. They thought they were recovered, but then some time later, experienced terrible symptoms. To this woman, this meant that COVID must be avoided at any cost.

I listed five separate items that might have accounted for their terrible symptoms. Once she revealed the drug that both had been given while initially treated for COVID it all became clear. The drug they were on has listed those terrible symptoms as side effects for some people.

Of course, that drug interaction will not be acknowledged by the Mainstream Media as that negates their story that this infection is the worst thing ever. Despite it having a mere 0.06% fatality rate for people under the age of 70 who are relatively healthy. (Plus if it is the worst thing ever, then release the use of HCQ!)

On edit: the drug her friends took, rocephin,  has its side effects listed here:

    Via Instapundit:

Dr. Birx’s Early Prediction for COVID-19 Deaths Destroys Biden Narrative.

…Back in March, Dr. Deborah Birx, one of the experts advising President Trump, predicted that “if we do things almost perfectly,” there would be up to 200,000 deaths in the United States.

“If we do things together well, almost perfectly, we could get in the range of 100,000 to 200,000 fatalities,” Birx told Savannah Guthrie on Today. …

I’m sure Savannah Guthrie and Today are reminding their audience of this every chance they get.
