Trump In It to Win It

Ballot boxPresident Trump has never accepted losing in his lifetime. Oh, he has certainly gone through severe reversals in the very cyclical real estate business. However, Donald J. Trump has always had an eye on the next win, the next big success. 2020 is not a carbon copy of 2016, but it most certainly is another instance of Trump Speed competition, in this case competition for at least 270 electoral college votes. To achieve that goal, President Trump spent the past three and a half years working to broaden his pool of voters, especially among racial minorities long ignored by the Republican Party.

Hispanic/Latino voters:

In a recent Florida MAGA rally, President Trump specifically called on Puerto Ricans to get out and vote. Puerto Ricans are United States citizens, with the same right to travel within the boundaries of the United States as other citizens. Following the natural disaster of Hurricane Maria, the man-made disaster of chronic and endemic political corruption made recovery across Puerto Rico very slow. This was due to both poor infrastructure construction before the storm and rank local corruption trying to extract benefits from the massive federal aid. Some number of Puerto Ricans voted with their feet, moving to places like Florida, where a Republican governor welcomed them. The great fear is that these citizens will vote Democrat in Florida, bringing the political plague with them.

Now, the governor of Puerto Rico, Wanda Vázquez, has endorsed President Trump, urging Puerto Ricans across the 50 states to vote for him. This is because he has reversed policies of both Democrat and Republican administrations that caused the movement of manufacturing jobs from Puerto Rico to China. President Trump makes precisely this point regularly. Vázquez assumed office when the elected governor resigned after a wave of corruption scandals.

President Trump has consistently asked for Hispanic citizens’ votes and has cited employment, wages, regulatory relief for small businesses, and aggressive enforcement against murderous gangs that especially prey on Spanish speaking communities. He has driven the Department of Justice to finally do their job, even if the Democrat activists posing as career civil servants have to be dragged kicking and screaming into attacking their party’s street enforcement allies.

Department of Justice Releases Report on its Efforts to Disrupt, Dismantle, and Destroy MS-13
Department Has Prosecuted More than 700 MS-13 Gang Members Over the Last Four Years; Approximately 74 Percent of these Defendants Were Unlawfully Present in the United States
Today, the Department of Justice released “Full Scale Response: A Report on the Department’s Efforts to Combat MS-13 from 2016-2020.” This report describes the Department’s work to dismantle La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) in the United States and abroad. The data show that since 2016, the Department has prosecuted approximately 749 MS-13 gang members. So far, more than 500 of these MS-13 gang members have been convicted, including 37 who received life sentences. Department prosecutors are using more than 20 federal criminal statutes to prosecute MS-13 members, including, for the first time, filing terrorism charges against MS-13’s leadership. The data also show that for decades MS-13 has exploited weaknesses in border enforcement policies, as approximately 74 percent of the defendants prosecuted were unlawfully present in the United States. The report also describes the Department’s efforts to combat MS-13 internationally through increased partnerships with law enforcement in Mexico and Central America. Through international cooperation, hundreds of MS-13 members have been arrested abroad and more than 50 MS-13 members have been extradited to the United States.

Combating MS-13 has been a top priority for the Department of Justice. On February 9, 2017, President Trump issued Executive Order 13773, directing the whole-of-government to develop and execute a comprehensive approach to dismantle Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) such as MS-13 and restore safety for the American people.

Here is how his campaign makes the pitch:

For Trump

Against Biden

Black voters:

President Trump asked for black Americans’ votes in 2016, asking “what do you have to lose?” He made the point that decades of overwhelmingly voting for Democrats had shown no advancement for the black community. President Trump has obsessively beat the drum for increased employment and wages for every community, especially those left behind by both major parties. He responded to long-term calls for both prison reform and increased safety in gang-infested communities. He showed real respect by shifting the dynamic from annual supplication to long term budget affirmation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The White House prison reform celebrations featured President Trump welcoming one African-American after another to step up and speak to the nation. When he finally got the DOJ to shift from their coup plotting to doing their freakin’ job, he unleashed Operation LeGend.

President Trump and Attorney General Barr have compelled weekly updates, constant accountability on Operation LeGend results.

Justice Department Announces $5.3 Million in Awards to Support Operation Legend
At a roundtable with law enforcement in Indianapolis today, Attorney General William P. Barr announced that the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (OJP) is making up to $5.3 million available in grants to support Operation Legend. Eight Legend cities – Kansas City, Mo., Albuquerque, Cleveland, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Indianapolis – will be eligible for up to $500,000 in grant funding to support Real Time Crime Centers, which provide police with rapid intelligence and instant information to help identify emerging crime patterns. In addition, more than $1.3 million will fund special prosecutors who have been cross-designated to try federal firearms cases originating in Albuquerque, Memphis, St. Louis, and Kansas City, Mo.

“Keeping its citizens safe is the primary responsibility of government,” said Attorney General Barr. “Cities plagued by violent crime need the resources to tackle it, and these grant awards will help do that. On the enforcement side, Real Time Crime Centers will make policing more efficient and targeted; and on the prosecution side, Special Assistant U.S. Attorneys will help bring more federal firearms cases to justice.”

[. . .]

The Department of Justice launched Operation Legend in July, following the murder of four-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot and killed while he slept in his Kansas City home. The initiative was subsequently expanded from Kansas City to Albuquerque, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. Since the summer launch, officials in Operation Legend sites have made more than 5,500 arrests, including approximately 276 for homicide, and seized more than 2,000 firearms. Of the more than 5,500 individuals arrested, approximately 1,124 have been charged with federal offenses. More than 600 of those defendants have been charged with firearms offenses.

Yes, the DOJ stubbornly spells it Legend, but President Trump was deadly serious about honoring the murdered four-year-old boy, a black life that BLM and the Democrats deny mattered, a name leftists refuse to say.

For communities long abandoned by both Republican and Democrat administrations and congresses to a long reign of terror by gangs, this may matter more than jobs and wages. The elderly poor held hostage in their publicly subsidized tenements by the young gangsters in the lobbies have been desperate for more, not less, police presence and more, not less, aggressive enforcement against the thugs who have been left to rule entire sections of American cities. If their votes are not stolen or openly coerced, there will be a silent shift in the political ground of our urban cores.

Just before the first presidential debate, where Chris Wallace impersonated Candy Crowley, President Trump unveiled his Platinum Plan for Black Americans, a follow-on to his 2016 New Deal for Black America.

As with prison reform, there was a cultural elite angle to President Trump’s latest move on behalf of black Americans. Here, Ice Cube had already released an extensive written plan. President Trump reached out and Ice Cube was willing to engage and associate himself with a good-faith effort championing the black community.

When President Trump unveiled his second-term agenda for Black Economic Empowerment, the “Platinum Plan,” it was not created quickly to pander for black votes the last 30 days of the election. This plan is the culmination of several months of hard work, listening sessions, and working again with conservative leaders, community groups, experts, and people like Ice Cube.

If you have good ideas and are willing to work with President Trump, President Trump will work with you. Ice Cube had his own Contract with Black America because he realized that to get things done you have to be politically active to get the reforms needed through policy. When the Trump White House reached out to Ice Cube after he posted it, he was willing to work with the White House to have some of his ideas included in this holistic, achievable, life-changing, and historic Platinum Plan.

This stands in marked contrast to previous Republican presidents, including Reagan, whose senior campaign staff told Clarence Thomas to his face at the EEOC that they could not be bothered to have him help them engage black citizens, because these voters always voted Democrat. It stands in screaming contrast to the self-righteous Bushes.

Asian Americans:

First, there is no such thing, no matter the efforts of would-be leftist identity politics leaders. President Trump makes political hay pounding away on the “China virus” and “China” cheating. He signals support for Vietnamese, Korean, Cambodian, and Indian voters, all nationalities threatened by Chinese regimes today and historically. By publicly taking the side of democracy, rule of law, and basic human rights against the might-makes-right Chinese Communist Party, President Trump chips away at mainland Chinese ancestry Americans.

Beyond the consistent foreign policy speeches and accomplishments, President Trump has directly attacked the divide in the left-wing government-educational complex. His DOJ, not under the worthless worm Jeff Sessions but under Attorney General Barr, has, with the Education Department, unleashed two direct attacks on elite universities that blatantly discriminate against student applicants of Asian ancestry.

In addition to these direct actions on behalf of Americans of Asian ancestry, actions against foreign influence in our universities helps liberate students and their families from influence operations by the Chinese Communists. Actions against critical race theory and institutional racism programs help Asian Americans, who, like Jews, are treated as having “white privilege.”

President Trump is sprinting to the finish line in the 2020 election, seeking votes based on his “promises made, promises kept” to Americans, including racial and ethnic minorities. We will soon see if he is rewarded for challenging the Democrat and Republican gentlemen’s agreement that these voters belong to the Democrats. Will doing the right thing for the first term earn him a second term, stunning the establishment again?

Opposing the PRC government also sends a strong signal of solidarity to Christians in China, who are being persecuted as at no time since the early days of the Communist take-over, from what I have read, and other dissidents. Let us no forget the island republic of Taiwan, either.

The republicans have always been accused of ignoring certain blocks of voters. If all Trump has done doesn’t end with gains in these blocks, then they aren’t worth pursuing until they are tired of being taken for granted by the Democrats, their call.

My capability for political prognostication is substandard, to say the least.

But I’m calling FL for Trump right now.  He was always going to win the panhandle.  There are some university towns (Gainesville comes to mind first) that might edge out for Biden.

But I’m seeing nothing from the Cubans, Colombians, Dominicans and Venezuelans in the 305 but mass enthusiasm For POTUS.  The RRicans are still a wild card, but with the Gov’s endorsement, I don’t think they’ll go en masse for Biden.

Jorge Masvidal’s influence is key and a key indicator.  He is the living, breathing manifestation of Miami Latin Machismo.  Latins here love Masvidal.  The vid below was not even a political event, it was an MMA event when someone asked him whether he would vote for Trump:
