Planning for Post-Election Destruction

I work in a building two blocks from Lafayette Square in downtown DC. On top of the devastation from the friendly fire/own goal COVID policies of the District of Columbia, my immediate work environs were also badly damaged in the Floyd riots. A number of those places have not and will not re-open. Every morning I pass by the desecrated stretch of 16th Street with those stupid giant yellow letters honoring the farcical BLM. It takes up several blocks and pollutes the otherwise impressive view of the White House and Washington Monument bathed in the early morning sunlight. There are also semi-permanent barriers along all the streets that are approaches to the White House.

Apparently, the genius brigades are planning to camp out around here on election night to get ready to force Trump from the White House if he loses or if he cheats (i.e., wins). See, this article.

Our office building management has already sent all tenants a notice that they will start boarding up the place (they are getting pretty good at that now) the day before Halloween and probably close the building if the armies of Deep Stupid appear to be massing for more mindless destruction in the days after the election.

The DC Police, the uniformed Secret Service, the Park Police, and whoever else Homeland and the Pentagon decide to deploy will need to seal a number of intersections to prevent the Orc-wannabes from reaching the White House. I suspect the authorities will be less tolerant of “demonstrations” in or near Lafayette Square than they were more recently.

When I was a kid, I could ride my bike down Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House (closed to vehicular traffic since 9/11) to go to the big movie theater near the White House (gone) or go to the downtown department stores (long gone) to buy a birthday present for my mother or go to the museums. One Saturday when I was around 13, some plainclothes Secret Service guys or cops appeared out of nowhere, flashed badges, and made me and my friend climb down from a tree in Lafayette Square. It was a rule or something–we might be shooters aiming at the White House, I guess. That was the only heavy security I ever encountered back then.

DC has been a very open, very relaxed town most of the time. It has never really had the intense downtown feel of New York, Boston, or Chicago. The museums are all free as are the monuments. The tourist hordes in spring and summer always seem like mostly polite people from polite towns who are kind of awed by seeing the iconic buildings and monuments they had only seen in pictures and movies.  Somehow, they seem to be more patriotic in their awe than us jaded locals.

The oppressive unending stupidity of petty government gone wild on one side and the more malignant stupidity of Antifa and BLM on the other is debilitating and demoralizing. Cops and idiots battling for control of an increasingly depopulated area. If this keeps up, it almost won’t matter who wins.

I suppose they don’t care – maybe don’t even know – that a new president doesn’t take office until late January?

If they riot first it might get him to leave somehow.

I love/loved DC. It is so beautiful on the Mall and the Museums are awesome. I always have the feeling I’m stepping back into history. At least I used to feel that way. I read the article and read more about the group. Either they’re a bunch of ninnies or we are in deep trouble, at least in DC. It’s so sad.

Never showed. Just some of usual suspects along with some homeless guys and a few people with lots of odd signs in lieu of medication.

Portland is planning for post election protests. Not that history suggests it will be effective.

It will be mostly peaceful, I am sure.  People forget that Hitler and Stalin’s invasion of Poland was mostly peaceful.  Fewer than 10% of the 2 million invading troops shot or killed anybody.

Oh good Lord? How do they plan to do that? Storm the White House? The remote-operated weapons systems should make them think twice.

Perhaps I am being partisan, but far more than the BLM idiots or the lunatic Antifa crowd, I feel deep antipathy towards the Democrat politicians, like Pelosi and Schumer and the rest, who are using these rioters for their own sick purposes. They couldn’t win the last election, couldn’t overthrow the duly elected president or permanently taint him with charges of being a Russian stooge. So, having failed in that regard, they are, if not fomenting revolution, giving it moral support by refusing to condemn it in its formative stages. These are duly elected representatives of large swarths of the American people. They are legislators, people responsible for writing and passing our laws. I truly wonder how one can have a position like that and passively or actively condone acts of terrorism and social disruption so long as they are directed toward their political opponents. There is certainly, as others have pointed out, a real similarity between this behavior and that of the Jacobites in the French Revolution. We are seeing clearly the symptoms of such people “eating their own”, upping the ante, demanding more and greater radicalism, apparently without a thought to where this all leads.

Along with the politicians goes the Third Estate, the press. Their patent dishonesty and overt partisanship seems to know no bounds. I remember all too clearly their response to the group of high school kids, and one in particular, when that group was confronted by two separate groups of aggressive radicals, one black, the other Native American.  Who did they blame? Whose legitimacy did their question? These people are tearing down the very pillars of the temple under whose roof they stand, and under whose rules they are protected.

These childish buffoons on the left are playing with matches, playing at being revolutionaries with no idea of the conflagation they may be starting. What frightens me most is the prospect of a deteriorating Joe Biden attaining the presidency and, in essence, lacking the ability to command the forces needed to put out the fire. He is certainly not what Antifa and BLM are trying to achieve. He is a placibo at best, at worst he will be seen as just a continuation of what they see as the oppressive establishment. This is not going to end well.

Idiots.  Don’t they realize Trump is still President until the inauguration?

I just had a weird thought.  What about this scenario:

Trump loses.  He and Pence resign immediately, making Nancy Pelosi President.  I wonder how hard it would be to pry her fingers from the Resolute desk come January 20th . . .

Well hopefully, the people and machines guarding the White House have better protection from frivolous indictments for murder, etc.

It was always a coup. They will never unite the country. in fact, I predict things will be worse next year. Democrats will show their hatred for the other half of the country, either as sore losers or as vindictive winners. They will commit unforgivable offenses. It is who they are. The old school Democrats can’t control the monsters they created.

Yes it was always a coup. Did you hear Obama stumping for the hiding Biden in the last two weeks? He says a whole lotta nothin about nothin. The oh so liberal Democrats chose a rich, establishment, white, elderly male with cognizant issues to head their ticket – something is clearly up.

I no longer believe that Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomo, Newsom, et al, are not exactly sure of where this leads. It is The Brave New World, the New World Order, the Agenda Of Which We Must Never refer. (Even though that Agenda is fully and completely outlined if you play around with the UN’s website and examine the various commissions, charter statements, and ultimate goals.)

Joe Biden is merely the “kindly old man” who occasionally refers to progressive polices and is convenient for the Dem leaders to use as a Trojan Horse. Once he is in, the likes of AOC and Ilhan Omar will again take prominence and will lead our nation into the new promised land of no borders, no need for anyone to work ever, and intensely insane continuation of COVID restrictions, keeping us more enslaved than we can imagine in our worst nightmares.

BTW, for those who will be interested, Ilhan Omar was estimated to be worth 45,001 dollars in 2018, but she is now worth over 2.1 million.

She has quickly figured out Di Feinstein’s game of letting a spouse receive contract monies from insider deals structured to look like he was earning whopping sums from her campaign funds for his invaluable consulting activities:

    It’s just greed.

It doesn’t need to be a conspiracy to go anywhere if they are simply greedy and corruptible.

Some with money have goals. Greedy and corruptible politicians are easily bought.

These things don’t play out well for nations and countries even without conspiracy.
