We Need to Engage this Fight

In my last post about outcomes following the election, I suggested that no matter who wins, there will be violence. The discussion was exceptional, with a whole range of possibilities suggested. I’ve been thinking about the potential of violence a great deal, and I’m feeling even more certain that no matter who wins, there will be riots and destruction. If Trump wins, outbreaks of violence are almost guaranteed. If Biden wins, violent demonstrations are less likely, but they are possible. The extreme actors on both the Left and Right will probably show up, not necessarily for partisan reasons, and it will be ugly.

I’m making this prediction because the vicious rioters of the Left know that if Biden is elected, he won’t do anything. They will have the ability to do essentially anything they want. We already know that the local authorities are inept and won’t act. Every city in America will be threatened.

So we must do all we can to ensure a Trump victory. This time around Trump will not hesitate; the potential level of destruction will require engagement of the National Guard and other parts of the military. My only hope is that the military will act responsibly and follow orders. I worry that enough of the military has been corrupted by the Left that they may hesitate to act or may even give orders to stand down.

Still, President Trump knows that the survival of the country is literally at stake. He must act swiftly and aggressively. I believe he will.

All of us must be ready, too. One has to wonder about the ongoing shortage of ammunition. After months of shortages, why haven’t they been able to replenish supplies? Has the demand grown so great that they still can’t catch up?

* * * * *

It makes me almost ill to present this scenario. I hate violence. But the violence has already arrived, and if it’s become quieter, it might be because the rioters are re-arming. Efforts by the DOJ may be continuing regarding the identification of networks and suppliers to these people. But as often happens, their research may turn up too little, too late.

Ultimately, though, there is a small light that shines. It is our love for the country. It radiates the love we have for each other. It illuminates our commitment to freedom.

We will be ready.

Susan Quinn: We already know that the local authorities are inept and won’t act.

This should not be assumed just because the cities chosen by the enemy to perform these preliminary training exercises chose to do nothing. Those places were purposely chosen for their hospitality toward the anti-fascist in name only (AFINO) cause. Many cities will crush this nonsense rather quickly…and this the media will report as war or war-like.

[editsAs required to fit my intent and so the comment in general actually makes sense. Very sloppy work.]

Maybe we need some kind of mandatory national service program for people in their twenties. Or maybe the draft. Have you ever noticed that almost everyone engaging in all the violence that’s been going on appear to be in their twenties? Maybe late teens to early thirties. There’s obviously something defective about the brains of people in this age group. Not trying to be funny or sarcastic. Watching the Kyle Rittenhouse video I was stunned to see all these twenty somethings running toward Rittenhouse as he prepared to defend himself with his rifle. Including a guy whose only weapon was a skateboard. Running toward a guy with a rifle with only a skateboard to defend yourself! (He ended up shot dead). Older people, even those just a little older, seem to have grown a brain and don’t act this way. I don’t know why people in this age range seem to think they’re immortal, but maybe we need to find a way to put that recklessness to a better use.

In the long run, some kind of national service might benefit many young people. I just don’t know about making it mandatory. I remember @ejhill discussing that it might be costly to create this kind of service. But it’s a long-term discussion, since we won’t have them in place before Nov. 3. Thanks, @bobw.

Why is there a national shortage of diet Coke?   Is there a conspiracy there?

Most people are weak and will not be violent.  People afraid of the sniffles are not a threat.  There are some anarchists and they are going to go for violence no matter who is in office.  It will not be as bad as 1971.  If the Senate goes strongly Dem, then attacks the filibuster, that will be a problem.  I don’t think Dem Senators in red states (eg, Joe Manchin) will go nuclear on the filibuster, so the Dems will need 52+ seats, which is super dooper unlikely.

Aggressiveness in young men was a evolutionary benefit in that it created better chance that your sisters and cousins were more likely to live and procreate propagating the genes that make young men aggressive.

There’s something irrational about how anti-fa thinks.  They obviously have orders to follow, such as to stand chest to chest and yell taunts without actually touching the person, but the taunts themselves are not true, or logical, or attempts to persuade, but to instigate action.  What they are thinking, I suppose, is that they are willing to die to advance a cause, to become a martyr for an end that they will never experience. They are looking for a speculative spiritual reward rather than a making their own lives better.

This is intellectually couched in critical race theory, but there is something more to it: suicide, I think.  Like the suicide bombers who surrender their lives to a greater cause, if a wrong one, for a great reward, that does not exist.

Come to think of it, there are significant psychological parallels between mohammedan terrorists and anti-fa and BLM.

I know quite a bit about Islamism and I’m trying to make the parallels. Antifa are technically nihilists from what I understand. BLM certainly would be a better parallel. Certainly the degradation of others, making them less than human, unacceptable unless they join the cause. I don’t have proof of it, but I think the idea of taqqiya, or lying to protect the faith, would be another. Interesting! Thanks, @flicker

Let me be more specific.  Both groups get their ideology from above, not a matter of internal intellectual activity and development.  They are highly organized.  They are taught and encouraged to display their thinking in angry, insulting and low-level violence, they seek to escalate by taunting the peace-keepers.  They are armed but chose to use bricks and other semi-lethal means of physical aggression.  They are trained to be aggressive and yet believe that their own safety is high, because those they are aggressive against are prohibited from using violence.  As such, they do not fear death; but if they die, they will be elevated in status, as martyrs.

Most importantly of these, they both are trained to initiate a high degree of physical aggression with physical and verbal taunting and sloganeering in place of than peaceful protests and rational argumentation.

It’s an intimidation technique. Performed day after day after day, to wear down the police and the locals. Raise the anxiety level enough, and the mayor will have boxed meals delivered to cater your riots.

Yes, that is understood by the rank and file but I think each members personal motivation — inculcated within each by the teachers — is essentially the same as the Palestinian protester’s or the suicide bomber’s.

Sorry to confuse. I was referring to the “the vicious rioters of the Left” you spoke of earlier in the paragraph and any number of cities not named Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, or Oakland.

Just to spin some possibly prophetic fiction here (and challenge your map reading skills), I can image such thuggery doing a good number on downtown Dallas as some point early next year and then feeling good enough about their prospects to head down the road to Fort Worth. I would expect them to be met there with quite a punch in the nose but…maybe not. Maybe they repeat their earlier success. Now they continue their westward march toward Weatherford, TX. On this endeavor I have little doubt that their entire clan will be wiped clean away before ever reaching the city limits…and this “crushing of this nonsense” will have had nothing to do with the mayor or local law enforcement.

At some point, in some places, We the People just aren’t going to put up with this anymore.

Unfortunately, the same Republican establishment that left Jake Gardner and is leaving Kyle Rittenhouse out to dry, and are now demonizing ‘militias’ and groups like the Proud Boys, will not allow self-defense by citizens to happen on their watch without persecution of the patriots involved.

‘Interesting’ times ahead, even more so than now.

Maybe that will change when Trump wins a second term. I think he’ll be willing to take more risks that will fly in the face of the elites. In fact, I’m counting on it. Thanks, @lowtech-redneck.

By the way, this is not one of the cities I was referring to in my original comment:

    THE BROWNSHIRTS ARE BACK

Some American cities, like Portland, Seattle and San Francisco, are starting to look like Germany in the 1930s. …

Until now, America has never had a serious fascist movement. Antifa must be crushed, those who perpetrate violence must be jailed, and those who finance violent extremism must be exposed. And Joe Biden and the Democratic Party must stop covering for their militant wing.

When the COVID shutdowns seemed imminent we decided we needed to purchase more ammo. That week the gun stores were dry. We talked to owners who were worried they’d have to shut down altogether. There were limits on the number of boxes you could purchase and that was in mid-March. I can only imagine how much more the demand has gone up since then with the riots and all! We also should be stocking up on other supplies. There is a whole lot of uncertainty looming, that’s for sure!
