Can anyone tell me what kind of instrument Wolk is running her fingers across? What exactly is it doing?

It’s an electronic braille reader. It takes the text that she’s typed out, and pushes up little braille “buttons.” My aunt is blind, and has one. She can read braille about as fast as I can read text, and unlike me, she doesn’t even move her lips when she gets to big words.

    LOL! Boss!

looked at me intently coming from a blind person gives us pause

Maybe “looking at me intently” means something else to a blind person than it does to us.  What does “looking at” even mean to a blind person but to give one’s full attention?  And a verbal “hmm?” can signal the denotative meaning of “intently”.  Maybe the closeness of the person’s face, which can be sensed, can be interpreted as “intently”.  Or even “looking at me intently”.

Thanks. Wow. I can’t imagine reading that way. Amazing the technology that is out there.

Witnesses are expected to recount what they witnessed; not what they interpreted they witnessed.

All experiences are interpretational.  As in, did 0bama scratch and itch on his cheek, or did he give somebody the finger? :)

And did you hear three shots or four?  Was the man nodding in agreement or in acknowledgement?

And did you hear three shots or four?

Not a useful question to the deaf.
