Tom Ridge Sniffs Joe Biden’s Hair

Former (Republican) Pennsylvania Governor and Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge has endorsed Joe Biden. Ridge has apparently never been enthralled by — first candidate and then President Trump — because “civility and respect, not … childish name-calling and [T]witter tirades.”

Yes, Biden is truly civil and respectful. Just ask Justice Clarence Thomas. If you want to be disgusted by the electronic lynching conducted by a “civil and respectful” man read through Ann Althouse’s post this morning.

Of course, Ridge assures us that “Vice President Biden and I both know that supporting his candidacy now certainly won’t dissuade me from speaking out later when I disagree with him.” Wow, that will be comforting under a Harris-AOC Administration.

Former Governor Ridge urges us to “put country over party.” Is that what Joe Biden is doing?

I am completely fed up with NT “Republicans” signing up for the Progressive agenda because of President Trump’s personal style. Tell us which policies that Trump has implemented that they would prefer the Democrat agenda instead.

The only ones I can think of are war over peace and uni-party decorum based on decades-long accommodations of personal trough gorging. I recall a statement made by a government executive upon the retirement of a government worker going to work for a federal contractor: “He will be continuing to eat from the same trough, but he is going to the end where the swill is richer.”

Tom Ridge is and has been in the same trough with Joe Biden for decades. Nothing must be permitted to endanger the trough.

That does appear to be the going concern. Jonah backed into this analysis recently on his podcast although he didn’t take his comparison forward to look at Trump. Jonah was discussing guilds and said something about guilds getting angry when someone from outside the guild comes in and can do the same job, just as well or better. Trump has embarrassed the politician guild and on some issues has done a better job because he wasn’t beholden to “this is how it’s done”.

We associate with a particular political party because we believe their policies are better for the country.  That is why “country before party” is almost always bogus.

Yabbut, thay was before Biden was semi-comatose.  He’s much more civil and respectful now after his “alleged neurological events”.

Senator Biden has been one of the most vicious men in Washington for decades. Just because he pats you on the back hasn’t meant he wasn’t doing it with a stiletto in his hand.

And, yes, I called him “Senator.” That is not out of nostalgia or because I was looking back at his record. It is because that is the proper etiquette. There is only one President and Vice President at a time. Currently, they are President Trump and Vice President Pence. These offices are like the dictatorship of Cincinnatus, the proper protocol is to relinquish the title with the job and revert back to one’s previous highest title that carries into retirement.

    Senator Biden
    Senator Obama
    Governor Geo. W. Bush
    Governor Carter
    Governor Clinton
    Senator Gore

That’s how it’s supposed to be.

Nah. There wil be a lot of disaffected working class Democrats who like their fracking jobs who will vote for Trump this time. So will a lot of police officers and firefighters who normally vote Democrat after their party hung them out to dry. Throw in an increasing fraction of the black and Hispanics voters who have been able to get jobs during the Trump years that they were unable to find during the Obama-Biden administration. Add in those alarmed at the censorship imposed by the Woke Folk who are part of the walk-away movement. And oh, yes, the suburban women who prize security who are alarmed by the riots being conducted by the paramilitary wing of the Democrat Party.

The “Republicans” voting for Biden this year are those completely insulated from the economic effects of the fallout from Biden’s Marxist agenda. Either that or those in careers where the resulting misery will increase their business. That many struggling Americans, especially minority Americans will suffer from a Biden Administration? Meh. Who cares? Know any Republicans like that on Ricochet? I can think of one or two.

Good point. All the more reason for all of us to vote for him.

An exception can be made for those who don’t respect the title of Mr. as much as the others.

Former Governor Ridge urges us to “put country over party”.

Actually, what Ridge is doing is precisely the opposite.  He wants Trump defeated because he thinks it will allow Republicans like him to regain control of the party and resume the disastrous course that gave us Trump in the first place.  He knows full well that if Trump is defeated it means the investigation of the greatest political scandal in American history (the Russia collusion hoax) will be halted and it will be as it never happened.  He knows full well that if Trump is defeated the new administration will be filled with adherents of the divisive and racist philosophy of Critical Race Theory.  He knows full well that if Trump is defeated the enemies of free speech will triumph.

Former Governor Ridge is a disgrace who cares not for his country.  I guess its worth it to him to have the good ol’ GOP back in charge.

Yes, I changed my party affiliation after Romney lost in 2012 to “independent”. Somehow the state re-registered me as a Republican which is fine for now. I suspect I may have to leave the Republicans again after President Trump is out of office.

Tom Ridge is a vile, stone cold baby-killing liar. His one and only real disagreement with President Trump and his voters is the issue of abortion on demand up to the moment of conception. That is the issue behind all the “conservatives” and “Republicans” who have been aghast at what the American electorate did in 2016 and have looked likely to do again in 2020.

    From 2013:

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 29, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Republican governor faulted by a grand jury with allowing Kermit Gosnell to operate his “house of horrors” free from state inspections has delivered a scathing address, denouncing the GOP’s pro-life and pro-family wing as “narcissists and ideologues” seeking to impose their own brand of “tyranny” on the United States.

    [. . .]

He decried “the narcissists and ideologues within our party” who promote an “offensive and exclusionary view,” as well as an “unacceptable rigidity and self-righteousness on social issues.”

Amidst those scathing remarks, Ridge bemoaned the modern “lack of civility and statesmanship.”

Pro-life activists, he said, “forget about separation of church and state” and engage in activities that are “consistent with what a church may propose but should not necessarily be at the epicenter of governing.”

He added that “God-fearing” people might support abortion and homosexuality. Opponents of those practices “should be more concerned about their own relationship with God,” quoting the admonition, “Judge not lest ye be judged.”

Tom Ridge is and was a vile supporter of abortion on demand to the moment of conception. As governor, he provided cover for the worst serial killer in American history, Doctor Kermit Gosnell, because Gosnell was mostly killing and aborting darker skinnned babies. Ridge is that kind of “Republican.”

What? Voting for a Traitor who sold us out to the Chinese for billions, raped a young women, fondled countless others,   encouraged and took numerous  bribes throughout his public career, and is now thoroughly demented to the point that he is at the mercy of the Radical Marxists of his party – is not caring for your country?  I guess for a few nutcase psychopaths who want to hurt the country and millions in it-  it is.  Voting for Biden and almost any Democrat  is now clearly  voting to hurt millions of Americans. Plain and Simple.

Its quite odd, isn’t it, that in order to be a “good” Republican, you must always sacrifice social positions for the economic ones. And I’m not sure the economic ones in local politics are what we want.

How is the AA community in PA handling gentrification? I have a feeling gentrification makes the AA community so angry because they’ve been priced out of commercial real estate in their neighborhoods due to regulations.

I wonder how successful a Republican could be if he doubled down on Conservative social issues and went more blue-dog economically.

    Tom Ridge on Donald Trump:

“My disregard for Donald Trump has been well documented by multiple media outlets over the last several months, so I won’t belabor it yet again,” Ridge writes. “Suffice to say that I am disappointed that he is our party’s nominee. With a bumper-sticker approach to policy, his bombastic tone reflects the traits of a bully, not an American president and statesman. If he cannot unite Republicans, how can he unite America? I simply cannot endorse him.”

…of course, this quote is Tom Ridge on Donald Trump from May of 2016, so Ridge wasn’t one of the people who gave Trump his 12,000 or so margin of victory over Hillary Clinton four years ago. It’s not quite as bad as the media touting Colin Powell is voting for Joe Biden, since Colin Powell hasn’t voted for a Republican for president since 2004 (we assume). But it does fall into the category of politician who didn’t vote for Trump four years ago isn’t voting for Trump four years later. Likely not going to be a big needle-mover, even in the Keystone state.

If memory serves, 4 years ago John Kasich sat out the election, but did not endorse Hillary.  Four years ago, I voted third party.  But in 2020, Kasich, Ridge and I have endorsed Biden over Trump.  Biden will be the first Democrat I will have voted for since 1972.
