Two D’s on the Senate Judiciary Committee Refuse to Meet with Amy Coney Barrett

They think they are snubbing her, however, they are really doing her a big favor. Judge Barrett will be spared the inane comments and ugly questions of Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Mazie Hirono of Hawaii. Hirono is just stupid and Blumenthal is just mean. She doesn’t need to waste her valuable time meeting with them before the assault of the hearings. Gives Barrett more time to prepare.

Hirono is the dumbest Senator I have ever seen.

She’s not all that much dumber than the other Dumbocrats.

By the way, you’re sexist because she’s a woman, and racist because she’s Hawaiian, or whatever.

Don’t believe me?  Just ask the other Dumbocrats.

You are both wrong. My senator Patty Murray is the dumbest in the Senate. Hirono may be second.

Mark Levin used to say that Biden was the dumbest Senator ever and then the dumbest Vice President. When Hirono started talking, I thought that there’s someone even dumber than Joe.

RushBabe49: Hirono is just stupid, and Blumenthal is just mean.

And vice versa. Two despicables. ACB just caught a break. And we would all catch a break if the Dims would just boycott the Committee sessions and let ACB make her statement and the Repubs make some brief laudatory remarks and pass her on to the full Senate. She doesn’t have to listen to the Floor nonsense and can just wait for the call to be sworn in.

Are hearings even required? Why can’t they submit questions in writing and let Barrett reply in writing? I’m so, so tired of watching Democrats defame and slander conservatives in these sham hearings. Just skip the whole Q&A and take the damn vote.

The office visits are a traditional act of courtesy by the judicial nominee, an acknowledgment that the Senate and the Judiciary Committee in particular get to decide and a chance to make personal contact.

The refusal means that (a) they now choose to believe that their spin, their partisan preferences negate the actual text of the Constitution (b) per the Kavanaugh hearing, they are no longer under any obligation to respect the humanity of anyone affiliated with Donald Trump and (c) they lack the class and professionalism that was once expected in that office.

Hirono is both malignant and stupid. Lenin, Goebbels and Mao’s Red Guards specifically recruited this kind of loser as a foot-soldier for any planned power grab. The overt lack of both conscience and independent thought moves this sort to the top of the list. She can justify any bad behavior by worsening whatever caricature she holds regarding her “enemy.” Hate first, think later—if at all.

Blumenthal is merely an unprincipled hack. A normal human being would leave public office after the disgrace of being caught lying about military service.

My hope is they let the Dem Senators go completely insane in their questioning and then the Republicans make campaign commercials out of the clips.

Blumenthal will flip on questioning ACB. He might not be as fast as Chuck Schumer is to get in front of a TV camera, but the speed difference is measured in just a few hundredths of seconds — with all the media focusing on the upcoming hearings, he’s not going to pass up the chance to showboat by throwing out angry talking points instead of actually asking questions.

Hirono is one of the most obnoxious people in the Senate, so not surprised. More than anything, it just shows her fear of facing an admirable candidate.

Stupid and self-righteous is a very unpleasant combination, and the Democrats have an abundance of both.

Blumenthal’s scary rant in the linked article about millions of Americans losing their health coverage  is not only ridiculous, but just plain evil. The Supreme Court could not do that. Any case regarding health care would have to make its way up through lower courts – an unlikely and time-consuming process.

I don’t know what he said, but the idea that a SCOTUS decision could cause millions to lose coverage is not ridiculous. This was the issue in the Obamacare case.

Obamacare is a classic lefty government program — millions lose coverage with Obamacare, then millions lose coverage without it. Lose lose. SOP.

And in either case, the “solution” will be to expand government. Win-win (for the Dems).

It was the same thing with “The Coming Ice Age” in the 70s, and then “global warming” which morphed into “climate change.”

Your first clue that environmentalism is cover for leftism is that all the “solutions” are more government.
