London Protest Against Lockdowns

This is what happens when a government screws up and loses the consent of the governed. The lockdowns have always required the public to accept and cooperate with the government. When the people decide that the lockdowns are silly and arbitrary this happens. It looks like there will always be an England.

I remember watching a video at the beginning of the lockdown of a protest in a park. Maybe 200 people there including our James Delingpole. Not everyone was wearing a mask, but they were social distancing.

This is thousands of people crammed into Trafalgar Square and people are deliberately hugging each other.

Don’t hire people to spy on their neighbours. Don’t have votes in cabinet declaring ‘rules of 6′ based on personal preferences. Don’t hold health care presentations where you don’t take reporters’ questions.

There is a vote coming up to continue the measures. There has been a rebellion in the Tory benches and looks like they might be going to force the government to go with a Swedish style response.

Hopefully it works out better for the UK than what happened to Wallace.

From the Daily Telegraph (they have a paywall, but maybe with a free article limit):

Exclusive poll: Two-thirds of Britons think coronavirus restrictions do not go far enough

So if you think that The UK has reached an epiphany, and will move towards the Swedish way of dealing with the pandemic, you might be very mistaken.

Those type of polls are about as relevant as the ones says Hillary is at 99 percent going to win.  Go see my comment on Ricochet flagship show to see my thoughts on polls.

Unfortunately, my understanding of what’s going on in UK is that most of the measures have not been implemented under the coronavirus act, which means that it doesn’t really matter how the vote turns out, they will all stay in place.

What’s going on in the UK right now is pretty insane.  I just hope that the US will fully open up and that the rest of the world will follow us where it hasn’t been following the other free countries.

True.  Another point I should make, is 5 months ago that number supporting lockdown would have been at 90 percent.  Now its 67.  As Peter Hitchens said this morning, “By this time next year everyone in this country will be talking about how they were against the lockdowns.”

UK Scientists are now coming out and attacking the government policies.

I was just watching my usual sources in the UK.  It looks like the government is in a bind.  There is a vote that will require all future measures to come under government scrutiny.  The speaker may block the amendment.  However if they do that, they might not have the votes to carry it in the house.  If that happens, they lose all emergency powers and cant do anything anymore.
